"Play" is essentially just Jax on auto-pilot, it's a shame because he used to be so consistent.

Rosalía and Moses Sumney :o Incredibly excited for this.

United continue the revival. The top 4 is really opening up.

Delighted to see "Danny Nedelko" and "Falling Into Me" in the top 10 - will do a full recap on everything in your top 100 when it's done. The two contenders for #1 that spring to mind would be "In My View" and "Lifetime", both of which are superb so fingers crossed

You wouldn't be saying that if it was "Woman Like Me" that'd been cheated out of #1 ;)

George's vocals seem to have got a lot worse since I saw him jn April, maybe he's strained his vocal chords to the point where he can't perform "Hold My Girl"? It is a bit more of a vocally demanding track than "Shotgun"

Finally picked up the normal version of IDLES' "Joy" today, which was nice. Also, Teleman's "Family of Aliens" was on sale for £9.99 in HMV; a great purchase!

I've got this track stuck in my head - this is all I know of it... The most prominent part of the track is this very distinct "doo doo da doo, da doo" instrument line in quite a high tone, sounds like something Disclosure might have put out a few years ago. The track is quite housey but nothing overly energetic or club-friendly. I'm pretty sure the song is relatively well known. It's possible the track is used in memes too? Not sure but I have a recollection of hearing it at least a few times recently. If you're humming it to yourself, put more emphasis on the second "da", I hope someone can identify it :D

Resonates with me more than any upbeat "party" song this year bar maybe something from SOPHIE or JPEGMAFIA.

"It's Not Living (If It's Not With You)" is THE banger isn't it. Future classic

Glad Ava's #1

"Praise Da Lord" Fantastic song

But... the Christmas songs are the most popular tracks this week? Why would you not want the chart to be accurate?

That Russ splash song is atrocious, hope to god it's not a hit.

Don't know why everyone's assuming Post Malone will fly to #1? The song doesn't exactly sound huge.

"Who Knows"? They played that literally 5 times a day for about a year, honestly must have heard it at least 50 times

Young Fathers' "In My View". Closely followed by Parquet Courts' "Tenderness"

I feel as though Ava will get at least a week at the top! Ideally we'll have a Ladbaby/Mariah/Ava/Miley/Post turnover - I don't think Post Malone will be an instant #1, probably a #3 debut and potentially climbig to the top after.

I can see how someone would associate Ava with that Gaga era but I'd argue that "Sweet But Psycho" doesn't take more than a tiny bit of influence, if any, from "Poker Face". It's definitely unique enough for someone to listen to the song 10 times without noticing any Gaga similarities.

Are there people REALLY getting uptight about a novelty song being #1? Lighten up jesus christ

100 posts late but I don't see any similarities between Poker Face/Paparazzi and Sweet But Psycho aside from them both being by female pop singers... they're all completely different songs.

+20: Sheck Wes "Mo Bamba" +19: George Ezra "Hold My Girl" +18: Sigrid "Sucker Punch" +17: Carly Rae Jepsen "Party For One" +16: Cadet & Deno Driz "Advice"

"Geyser" just hit me out of nowhere. What an exceptional album.

LadBaby is still in bright green, though. As much as I'm not a fan of the track, I'd like to see LadBaby get it, as Ava's got it nailed on for next week regardless. The more #1's in a year, the better ;)
