  1. In fairness anything would sound good coming after "The Plug" :P
  2. "Baby", on the other hand, isn't doing much for me. It just goes... nowhere.
  3. Rightfully so, it's so much better than more of the rap around right now
  4. It's nice to see Panic! get another top 40 hit. Also shocked at "I Found You"'s massive underperformance so far, but it is a bit bland.

Yes at this, "Double Negative" is a brilliant album
  6. And there was me thinking it was a pretty solid performance...

What a huge chart hit  Counting only songs that hit the top 40, I'd say... 1. Billie Eilish "when the party's over" 2. Childish Gambino "This Is America" 3. Sigrid "Strangers" 4. George Ezra "Hold My Girl" 5. Dynoro & Gigi D'Agostino "In My Mind" -------- 6. Au/Ra & CamelPhat "Panic Room" 7. Dave "Funky Friday" (feat. Fredo) 8. Ava Max "Sweet But Psycho" 9. Portugal. The Man "Feel It Still" 10. Charli XCX "1999" (feat. Troye Sivan) Probably missed a fair few.

Pickford Butland Pope Trippier Maguire Rose Walker Stones Shaw Keane Gomez Alexander-Arnold Dier Alli Barkley Henderson Lingard Cook Loftus-Cheek Foden Sterling Sancho Kane Rashford Wilson Solid squad for the Eyros off the top of my head - have definitely missed a few young ones that'll probably be pushing through in two years time though.
  9. The public aren't robots - the reason "thank u, next" is so popular is because it's a GOOD POP SONG. It did 700k in a day without playlists, so no, it's not all about playlisting. You seem to think that whatever gets the most promotion is the most popular... that's not the case. If a 12 minute long ambient jazz song was #1 on Hot Hits, it wouldn't get a lot of plays... because it's not accessible enough. The public will only play what they think is good in large numbers - they don't just blindly consume anything that Spotify give to hem.

Tbh, the new Mumford & Sons album is hugely poor by their standards.
  11. "Strip" is... horrendous to say the least. Who on earth thought it was a good idea?
  12. "Lifetime" is fantastic... thought I'd replace it with another highlight from the album this week though, "Economy of Freedom" brings something totally different to the table and I'm loving it. "Cocoa Sugar" is wonderful, not at all sure why it wasn't included on the album, sounds like it'd have fitted in perfectly. "My Girls" seemed to come from a golden age for quality indie... Animal Collective's newer stuff just doesn't cut it for me. Thanks for the comment :D
  13. 1. LCD Soundsystem "Oh Baby" 2. Talking Heads "Once In A Lifetime" 3. The Flaming Lips "Do You Realize?" 4. JPEGMAFIA & Kenny Beats "Puff Daddy" 5. The Beatles "For No One" 6. 15. Bumped into this bloke in Liverpool on Saturday. Thought I recognised him from somewhere then I clicked!
  16. f*** off no way Not ready wtf dkfgjhn
  17. Every single track in the top 10 on Hot Hits is a female fronted pop song!
  18. Thank GOD "Polaroid" is stalling, one of the least imaginative songs of the year. Pop is doing great in the charts at the moment - would be great to see "1999" and "Sweet But Psycho" in the top 10 soon
  19. The whole top 10 is pop for the first time in a while.
  20. Wonderful art-rock record from this guy that I hadn't heard of until now - a really interesting mixture between acoustic and noise-rock in places. Well worth a listen if you get the chance, similar to The Microphones and Blaenavon.
  21. Hey Dalek, Nice to see Cat Power so high, I need to check her album out. Not a fan of that new Julia Holter record, it drags on a bit for my liking for "I Shall Love 2" is probably my favourite on the album. Lovely to see Freebird II here, perfect choice for the next single  Didn't expect to see Swans here! They've got some awesome stuff. Brilliant chart :D
  22. But then you could argue that huge hits like "XO Tour Llif3", "Congratulations" and "Moonlight" never made it onto Hot Hits... so I only think it's vitally important for pop tracks.
  23. 1. Boards Of Canada "Roygbiv" 2. Blockhead "Insomniac Olympics" 3. Young Fathers "Cocoa Sugar" 4. Jon Bellion "Conversations With My Wife" 5. Billie Eilish "when the party's over" 6. Caribou "Odessa" 13. Everything Everything "Night Of The Long Knives" 14. The Flaming Lips "Do You Realize?" 15. M.I.A "Paper Planes" 16. Godspeed You! Teleman "Between The Rain" 32. A Made Up Sound "Rear Window" 33. Beirut "Gallipoli" 34. Young Jesus "Deterritory" 35. Girls Names "Hypnotic Regression" 36. How To Dress Well "The Anteroom" 37. The Vyrll Society "Shadow Of A Wave" 38. Django Django "Marble Skies" 39. TVAM "Narcissus" 40. Thom Yorke "Open Again"
  24. This is better than anything on "sweetener". Really strong track.
  25. Yeah.
