JP Saxe (feat. Julia Michaels) - If the World Was Ending
I just don’t get that comment, if anything I’d say it sounds like something a 13 year old would make a sad TikTok to ;) Maybe we’re just not mature enough to get it, too deep for us 😤

JP Saxe (feat. Julia Michaels) - If the World Was Ending
This is horrific, probably the worst thing in the charts right now. Soppy lyrics and an all round snooze fest.

Fiona Apple "Fetch The Bolt Cutters"
This is my album of the year by far so far... phenomenal songwriting and the incorporation of household items as instruments is innovative and wonderfully quirky. HUGE album.
-
Fiona Apple "Fetch The Bolt Cutters"
1) you called her “alt-pop-rock” in your first post 2) even Wikipedia states her genres as “Art pop & baroque pop“ Either way, someone please merge my original thread with this please.

Fiona Apple "Fetch The Bolt Cutters"
http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?s...p;#entry6502895 Someone please merge this with my thread in the pop forum. This is definitely an art pop album.

Fiona Apple "Fetch The Bolt Cutters"
Not sure if she has many fans on here, but Fiona Apple releases the long-awaited follow up to 2012's "The Idler Wheel" at midnight - named "Fetch The Bolt Cutters". Just listened to the record through an mp3, it's phenomenal. A more experimental and abrasive style to her previous works - early indications are that this'll be one of the most acclaimed records of the year.

Future hits predicta [Spring 2020]
Added the Kygo, Madison & Topic songs. The latter especially would be great to see in the top 40 - nearly half of this entire list is made up of dance songs now, seems as though house especially is having a big resurgence in the charts this spring. @ Dexton - if you see this, there are 3 new songs to add to your predictions ;o
-
Declan McKenna - Zeros
preferring this new single to "Beautiful Faces", this has really heightened my excitement for the album

really enjoying this - the actors look scarily similar to the real life characters, the Chris Tarrant actor is spot on

Family Fortunes RESULTS [quiz #2]
10. Name an Ed Sheeran single that failed to hit #1. [18] "Castle on The Hill": paulglib, jimwatts, n4yr, Scene, MrAndrewMan, WhoOdyssey, West, tgl92, Dan17F1, SamJudd, diva thin muffin, girlsaloudjunkie, dan.G, Jordan Lee, Jade, Bré, gavindeejay, chrissmith276, King Rollo [4] "The A Team": Dobbo, vibe, Bjork, coi, Jahq [2] "South of the Border": LewisGT, PeteFromLeeds, Riser [1] "Photograph": M4NGO, xajnipi [0] "Galway Girl": awardinary [0] "Happier": Dexton [0] "Hush Little Baby": Mack And so we reach our last question - some unexpected choices here, most notably "Hush Little Baby" (which I didn't know existed), and "Happier" (which I forgot existed) ;o. But despite some varied decisions, "Castle On The Hill", Ed's catchy counterpart to the monstrous hit that was "Shape of You" leads by a landslide here! I recall Ed saying he expected "Castle" would overtake "Shape of You" and reach #1 eventually. Didn't happen Ed, sorry. So... that leads us to the big question - did Mack think it was a round of Pointless? And another big question - who WON? You'll find out in 5 minutes ;)

Family Fortunes RESULTS [quiz #2]
From memory, "I Love It" and "Thotiana" were all initially snubbed for a little while after release due to the lack of a sufficient edit. I consider "Paris" to be an entirely different version of the song to the "N*" release, to the extent they don't refer to it by its actual name. And "Godzilla" is... well, I'll give you that one :') EDIT - essentially, as it was a hard question to judge, I thought as long as there was some obvious criteria to suggest that the song would have been snubbed at some stage, it was a valid answer.

Family Fortunes RESULTS [quiz #2]
9. Name a track from the past decade that has been snubbed by radio due to too much swearing. [5] Tory Lanez "The Take" (feat. Chris Brown): Dobbo, WhoOdyssey, LewisGT, dan.G, PeteFromLeeds, chrissmith276 [3] XXXTENTACION "SAD!": paulglib, jimwatts, girlsaloudjunkie, gavindeejay [2] 6ix9ine "FEFE" (feat. Murda Beatz & Nicki Minaj): Bjork, MrAndrewMan, Riser [2] Kanye West & Lil Pump "I Love It" (feat. Adele Givens): coi, n4yr, diva thin muffin [1] Jay Z & Kanye West "N*ggaz in Paris": awardinary, xajnipi [0] Nicki Minaj "Only" (feat. Drake, Lil Wayne & Chris Brown): vibe [0] Drake "HYFR" (feat. Lil Wayne): West [0] Poundz "Opp Thot": M4NGO [0] M Huncho "Thumb" (feat. Nafe Smallz): Jade [0] Cee-Lo Green "F*** You": SamJudd [0] Blueface "Thotiana": Bré [0] Eminem "Godzilla" (feat. Juice WRLD): Jordan Lee [0] Migos "Bad & Boujee" (feat. Lil Uzi Vert): King Rollo [0] Calvin Harris "Open Wide" (feat. Big Sean): Dan17F1 [0] The Pogues "Fairytale Of New York" (feat. Kirsty MacColl): tgl92 [0] A$AP Rocky "F*ckin' Problems" (feat. Drake, 2 Chainz & Kendrick Lamar): Scene [0] Dizzee Rascal "Bassline Junkie": Dexton [0] Nicki Minaj "High School" (feat. Lil Wayne): Mack [0] WRONG: N/A: Jahq Now this one was a BLOODBATH! It'd have been a wonderful showing if this was a round of Pointless... but it isn't. Tory Lanez' "The Take" was marginally the most popular answer here, scoring 6 contestants a whopping 5 points. Oh well, every little helps. Also, fun fact, I hadn't the foggiest idea what that song was until hosting this introduced me to it :') Some real throwbacks here though - remember the good old days when "High School" and "Bassline Junkie" charted. *.* Wig

Family Fortunes RESULTS [quiz #2]
8. Name an artist/group from the past decade with a #1 album, but no top 10 hits. [8] BTS: coi, n4yr, MrAndrewMan, WhoOdyssey, diva thin muffin, girlsaloudjunkie, chrissmith276, PeteFromLeeds, Bré [4] Blossoms: paulglib, Dexton, Jade, Riser, King Rollo [3] The 1975: Bjork, LewisGT, dan.G, Jahq [2] Foals: awardinary, jimwatts, Dan17F1 [1] Bring Me The Horizon: M4NGO, Scene [0] Royal Blood: Dobbo [0] Rick Astley: vibe (technically correct, as although Rick has had a top 10 before, he has not in the 2010's) [0] Liam Gallagher: gavindeejay [0] The Vaccines: West [0] Steps: SamJudd (technically correct, as although Steps have had a top 10 before, he has not in the 2010's) [0] Collabro: Jordan Lee [0] Marina & The Diamonds: tgl92 [0] Michael Ball & Alfie Boe: xajnipi [0] WRONG - Feeder: Mack http://www.ukmusicreviews.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/Article-Collabro.jpg Speaking of blasts from the past, here's another one... who remembers Collabro? *.* As expected, they didn't exactly sweep the table. Instead, it's K-Pop stars BTS propped up by indie darlings Blossoms, Foals, and The 1975. Sounds like a festival line-up. In this edition of "Mack's peculiar guesses", it's Feeder - a band who've never had a #1 album, let alone one in the last decade. ;o Oh well.

Family Fortunes RESULTS [quiz #2]
7. Name a Drake track that has hit the top 5 in the past 5 years. [19] "One Dance": Dobbo, M4NGO, awardinary, Bjork, coi, paulglib, jimwatts, Scene, tgl92, Dan17F1, diva thin muffin, girlsaloudjunkie, LewisGT, PeteFromLeeds, Jade, gavindeejay, Jahq, Riser, chrissmith276, King Rollo [7] "God's Plan": vibe, xajnipi, n4yr, MrAndrewMan, WhoOdyssey dan.G, Jordan Lee, Bré [1] "Nice For What": Dexton, West [0] "Hotline Bling": SamJudd [0] WRONG - "No Stylist": Mack In all honesty I was expecting "God's Plan" to sweep the floor here, with "In My Feelings" in a close second place. Instead, Drake's 2016 dancefloor banger "One Dance" amasses a remarkable 19 points. Huuuge. Other than that, not much to note - aside from "No Stylist" getting a mention (which didn't hit the top 5 :P).

Family Fortunes RESULTS [quiz #2]
6. Name any dance track that hit the top 10 in 2019. [8] Kygo "Higher Love" (feat. Whitney Houston): vibe, awardinary, Bjork, Dan17F1, diva thin muffin, Jade, Bré, Jahq, King Rollo [5] Calvin Harris & Rag 'n' Bone Man "Giant": M4NGO, paulglib, jimwatts, SamJudd, dan.G, gavindeejay [5] MEDUZA "Piece of Your Heart" (feat. Goodboys): coi, xajnipi, WhoOdyssey, girlsaloudjunkie, Riser, LewisGT [2] Regard "Ride It": Dobbo, n4yr, PeteFromLeeds [1] Joel Corry "Sorry": MrAndrewMan, Jordan Lee [0] Jax Jones & Martin Solveig "All Day & Night" (feat. Madison Beer): Dexton [0] Sam Feldt "Post Malone" (feat. RANI): West [0] Tones & I "Dance Monkey": chrissmith276 [0] Dua Lipa "Don't Start Now": Scene [0] Jax Jones "This Is Real" (feat. Ella Henderson): tgl92 [0] KSI "Down Like That" (feat. S-X, Lil Baby & Rick Ross): Mack http://electronics.buysku.com/Electronics-image/2016-1/Lovely-DJ-Rapper-Copy-Voice-Pet-Wear-Clothes-Talking-Hamster-Plush-Toy-for-Kids-Red-Grey-6358894150095312501.jpg Another close one... "Higher Love", arguably the biggest dance tune of 2019 has a narrow lead here, giving 9 contestants a healthy 8 points. Some controversial definitions of "dance" here, such as "Don't Start Now", and "Dance Monkey"... but I can see where Chris and Scene were coming from (and besides, I did speak of the boundaries being loose.). Aaaand, the less said the better about KSI's "Down Like That" being chosen...

Family Fortunes RESULTS [quiz #2]
5. Name a female soloist with multiple top 10's, but no number one hits. [10] Mabel: Dobbo, awardinary, coi, Dexton, MrAndrewMan, WhoOdyssey, Dan17F1, diva thin muffin, dan.G, Jahq, chrissmith276 [8] Janet Jackson: vibe, Bjork, paulglib, xajnipi, LewisGT, PeteFromLeeds, Jordan Lee, Jade, King Rollo [5] Selena Gomez: jimwatts, n4yr, tgl92, Bré, gavindeejay, Riser [2] Avril Lavigne: M4NGO, Scene, SamJudd [0] Alesha Dixon: girlsaloudjunkie [0] Shania Twain: West [0] WRONG - Lil Kim: Mack http://static.wixstatic.com/media/158bcf_bb4c885174b440cf8975cd572d433515.png Another rather tight one, I must say I was quite shocked to see Janet Jackson get such a high score here - I'd never have known she hasn't had a #1! A couple of interesting choices here... Shania Twain being a fantastic shout for Pointless, but unfortunately not so for Family Fortunes. Also, another inspired choice by Mack - "Lady Marmalade" was a thing ;) Mabel, probably the most obvious choice, gets a healthy score of 10, leading the way. Halfway through, and it's rather tight so far between a close top 5. Good luck!

Family Fortunes RESULTS [quiz #2]
4. Name a track by Ed Sheeran that hit number one. [24] "Shape of You": Dobbo, vibe, M4NGO, awardinary, Bjork, coi, paulglib, jimwatts, n4yr, Dexton, Scene, MrAndrewMan, WhoOdyssey, tgl92, Dan17F1, SamJudd, diva thin muffin, girlsaloudjunkie, dan.G, PeteFromLeeds, Jordan Lee, Jade, Bré, chrissmith276, King Rollo [2] "Perfect": LewisGT, gavindeejay, Jahq [0] "Thinking Out Loud": xajnipi [0] "Bloodstream": Mack [0] "I Don't Care": Riser [0] "Beautiful People": West This was arguably the biggest landslide out of any question. I was expecting "I Don't Care" to be the most common! Mack continues his streak of getting 0 points in every question by guessing Ed's 2015 Rudimental collab "Bloodstream". For the 7 of you that didn't guess "Shape Of You", it may be a bit of an uphill struggle from here...
