Streaming Services Chart Discussion; W/C 25/04/25
Those two days last week were also Easter weekend, so it's not hugely surprising that everything is up this week. It definitely makes a difference even on weekends. On Sunday according to kworb everything in the top 20 except Sports Car and Espresso increased from the previous week. The OCC really need to consider an increase by less than the overall market as a decline, really doesn't make sense for everything to automatically go back to zero weeks of decline this week.

Wonder if APT could be the old rules #2 for yet another week today đ

Shame to see The Giver dropping, hoping it recovers a little in the coming weeks! Beautiful Things really needs to go away now.

I'm just going to assume The Giver is #1 and tune out now đ

Don't think Jamie has done enough running yet, maybe he can run down the chart once he's finished

Really can't see why they couldn't even just play the top 10, given that they're playing some music anyway. They wouldn't lose any coverage of the ultramarathon. Oh well...

Pink Pony Club still stands a chance of holding on to #1 this week as it's ahead on other platforms and not far behind on Spotify... Will depend on whether Ordinary and Anxiety keep increasing throughout the week. I'd quite like to see it getting the old rules #1 as well just so it feels deserved. Shame to see The Giver dropping so much too, would be nice to see it stabilise and become a decent sized hit regardless.

Streaming Services Chart Mayhem; W/C 07/03/25
Guess I was wrong about Ordinary, did think when it first came out that it could be huge but then it seemed to be stalling somewhat until the past few days. I wonder what caused it to explode out of nowhere. Be funny if it ends up getting stuck at #2 behind two different Chappell Roan songs though!

Not saying it couldn't keep rising, but Ordinary was performed on the Love Is Blind finale released yesterday which might help explain why it's so high today. Anxiety is climbing extremely quickly so I could see that being the next #1 unless Chappell's new one is absolutely huge next week.

Yeah, I'd noticed this, but the thing is it's compiled by the OCC, so I don't understand why they apply different rules to the Irish chart. Not a topic of conversation for this thread I suppose

Not surprised to see That's So True back at #1, it's been holding up much better than Messy over the last few weeks regardless of any tour boost. Actually over in Ireland it's currently on its 102nd day at the top, and back at #1 officially this week having avoided ever going to ACR đ their top 10 looks absolutely dire with Taste, Espresso, Good Luck Babe and BIRDS OF A FEATHER still somehow on SCR. I quite like looking at it each week, usually just looks like an alternate universe version of our own chart. Looks like PPC is probably safe for another week at the top, if none of the Gaga tracks can overtake it on day 1!

The BuzzJack Friday Chart Show Thread: 7th March 2025
Awesome to see PPC get to the top, even if it won't be anywhere close on the old rules chart. Next week could be another default week for it before The Giver releases, or maybe even Gaga could sneak a #1 on low sales? Meanwhile we're already into March and still zero songs released in 2025 making #1 or even coming close...

The solo version of Anxiety is decent but I can't get past how she's literally just singing over the entire backing track for Somebody That I Used To Know. At what point does it go past being a sample? đ

Happy for Tate but sales must be shockingly low for this to be #3!

Hopefully the new song being out this week doesn't give Beautiful Things a boost and allow it to dodge ACR... Still like it but it really needs to go away now!

Actually really like Ordinary đ Fingers crossed for Pink Pony Club somehow making the top spot today, could be its only chance. Either way, not looking forward to seeing the sales...

Ah, forgot about that. Guess either way APT has to be considered one of the unluckiest #2s ever!

APT being behind Messy indicates that it probably wasn't the old rules #1 after all. Next week is still possible I guess!

Albums success doesn't necessarily translate to singles success though, and he didn't even have a top 40 single until the week his second album came out. This week he has three at the same time, seems like a lot of growth to me!

Absolutely adore Sam's album although Little Bit Closer is one of the weakest songs on it for me. Hoping to see People Watching back in the top 10 today at least!

2025 singles year to date estimates
Love the new format, so easy to read! Does this mean there are 4 Fleetwood Mac tracks in the top 100? Insane!

APT could actually reach #1 on Spotify at this rate  Jokes aside, we really need something new to blow up.

Top 100 Best Selling Albums of the 20s
Thanks for this, always an interesting read! Really hoping the OCC do something about the greatest hits/streaming sales situation soon. The Highlights being the biggest album of the decade is absurd (of course The Weeknd is very popular but let's be honest, virtually nobody is consuming that album specifically and most listeners probably are barely even aware it exists)
