Streaming Services Chart Discussion
Did some calculations out of interest. Spotify totals after 3 days: 1. Is It Over Now (1,652,987) 2. Slut (1,441,744) 3. Now That We Don't Talk (1,403,962) 4. Style (1,381,772) 5. Say Don't Go (1,381,593) 6. Blank Space (1,184,945) 7. Out Of The Woods (1,161,200) 8. Welcome To New York (1,158,016) 9. Strangers (1,143,647) 10. Suburban Legends (1,123,528) So Kenya Grace still has a 260k deficit to make up in order to prevent an all-Taylor top 3 this week - that's 65k/day. Obviously can't know the totals from other platforms though. Shame to see Style dropping out, but hoping somehow Say Don't Go can get into the top 3

Streaming Services Chart Discussion
My thinking was $l*t may drop faster during the week as everyone checks it out on day 1, whereas Style is an established hit already (original was #14 on Spotify yesterday and already hanging around the top 100 long before the current hype boost, those residual streams will likely be going to Taylor's version from now on) so could hold up better. Could go either way I suppose!

Streaming Services Chart Discussion
Style getting to #1 officially is definitely not something I thought possible, but what a great choice over something like Shake It Off or Blank Space which were already huge first time around, even if neither made the top! I know she won't care, but seeing SIO especially fall down the all time singles rankings due to streams being split between two versions is going to be sad :(

Estimated chart without ACR
Sorry to hear you're thinking of retiring this thread - understandable though as it must be a lot of work to put together! Can personally say I've enjoyed checking this out without fail every week, thanks for all the hard work and apologies for not interacting. More of a lurker on the forum these days!

X & / vs. feat. pts. introducing and others
It turns out searching " x " (with the spaces either side) on Polyhex does work for this! You're correct in that Gecko was the first to chart; earlier entries which come up using this search are just those which legitimately have X in the artist's name e.g. Liberty X, X Factor Finalists. Looks like "featuring" has been around as long as the chart has existed, there are several examples from the 50s with the earliest #1 being in 1956 (The Teenagers featuring Frankie Lymon - Why Do Fools Fall In Love)

Instrument trends in the charts
I don't usually comment but couldn't let this pass as a trumpet player - none of these songs feature a trumpet, all three of the riffs you're referring to are saxophones :P Jason Derulo's other song from the same album does funnily enough feature Trumpets, but the less said about that the better... An actual good example of a popular song featuring trumpets is Uptown Funk! :)

Chart Rule changes on ACR introduced this week
Agree with this, I doubt anybody cares enough about the chart to do it, it's just a thought!

Chart Rule changes on ACR introduced this week
It would be interesting if some big artist decided to manipulate the chart by removing their song from, say, Apple Music every third week before replacing it the week after to get an increase in streams. Don't know how possible that would be but you could theoretically avoid ACR forever that way!

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 11th January 2019
Every song between 561 and 624 is by either Jessica Swift or Amy Monroe

Changes in top 40 weeks due to Christmas songs
Fair enough haha, seems an arbitrary rule though! Would you allow Christmas songs which are older but reaching the top 40 for the first time, e.g. Ariana last year?

Changes in top 40 weeks due to Christmas songs
I think this might be a Christmas song

iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 31st August 2018
Actually kind of hoping Shotgun gets put on 59p every third week just to show the OCC how inconsistent the ACR rules are

Q4 Predictions 2018
Fair enough, I'm a little behind the times. I don't think it would be a terrible strategy for them to quit releasing albums altogether though since they have so much singles success when they don't oversaturate the market with their songs, and albums don't really sell well these days. I was also hoping they'd maintain their top 5 singles streak, which probably won't happen if they release an album :P

Q4 Predictions 2018
Didn't Clean Bandit announce around a year ago that they had no plans to release an album and had settled into releasing standalone singles every 6 months? Unless that has changed I wouldn't expect an album anytime soon!

FAMILY FORTUNES / Results
Well I could have been in contention to win if I'd gone with Bionic... Genuinely thought The Vamps would be more infamous now that they've broken her record, oops

Going well so far! (I'll definitely have messed some up though :P ) Wanted to answer Fairytale of New York for #3 but knew Mariah was going to be guessed more!

Official top 40 biggest songs of 2018 so far
Not sure how far off it is, but could This Is Me end the year as the highest selling single on pure sales? It's still selling well and likely will stick around for most of the rest of the year!

Never Mind The Buzzjacks: RESULTS
Think that went pretty well, top 10 maybe? Wish I hadn't missed the last several weeks now, could have had quite a few points :P

Never Mind The Buzzjacks: RESULTS
Never heard Redbone so not surprised to have missed that. Shame as it means I'll have got the lowest peaking question wrong too
