Not sure if this has been mentioned already, but could Running Up That Hill be the first song ever to hit every position in the top 10? It's now only missing positions 7 and 10, and is already on ACR so unlikely to have a massive drop out of the top 10.
  2. Sigma's Nobody To Love in 2014 too :)
  3. It turns out searching " x " (with the spaces either side) on Polyhex does work for this! You're correct in that Gecko was the first to chart; earlier entries which come up using this search are just those which legitimately have X in the artist's name e.g. Liberty X, X Factor Finalists. Looks like "featuring" has been around as long as the chart has existed, there are several examples from the 50s with the earliest #1 being in 1956 (The Teenagers featuring Frankie Lymon - Why Do Fools Fall In Love)

I don't usually comment but couldn't let this pass as a trumpet player - none of these songs feature a trumpet, all three of the riffs you're referring to are saxophones :P Jason Derulo's other song from the same album does funnily enough feature Trumpets, but the less said about that the better... An actual good example of a popular song featuring trumpets is Uptown Funk! :)
  5. Agree with this, I doubt anybody cares enough about the chart to do it, it's just a thought!
  6. It would be interesting if some big artist decided to manipulate the chart by removing their song from, say, Apple Music every third week before replacing it the week after to get an increase in streams. Don't know how possible that would be but you could theoretically avoid ACR forever that way!
  7. Every song between 561 and 624 is by either Jessica Swift or Amy Monroe

Haven't played for about 3 years but who knows, maybe I'll keep it going this time :P +5 Mark Ronson feat. Miley Cyrus - Nothing Breaks Like A Heart +4 Ava Max - Sweet But Psycho +3 George Ezra - Shotgun +2 Zara Larsson - Ruin My Life +1 Ariana Grande - thank u, next -1 James Arthur & Anne-Marie - Rewrite The Stars (the original would be +5 though...) -2 Post Malone & Swae Lee - Sunflower -3 Post Malone - Wow. -4 Pinkfong - Baby Shark -5 Kodak Black feat. Travis Scott & Offset - ZEZE Only one there I actively dislike...
  9. Except Moves Like Jagger in 2011, All Of Me in 2014, Take Me To Church in 2015, Cheap Thrills in 2016 and Castle On The Hill in 2017! :P Good to see One Kiss overtaking God's Plan in the end, can barely even remember how the latter goes. (sorry I'm late, catching up)
  10. Fair enough haha, seems an arbitrary rule though! Would you allow Christmas songs which are older but reaching the top 40 for the first time, e.g. Ariana last year?
  11. Fair play and well done to LadBaby... Would much prefer if a charity/campaign song was actually good though - that way it might attract some sales outside Christmas week and maybe raise a bit more money! :P Hopefully Ava gets it next week!
  12. I think this might be a Christmas song
  13. Is that 68k in 1998 close to the highest ever for a #10? That's pretty insane! Listening to the chart for the first time in months as work closed early today... Hoping Ava Max is #1 but expecting Ladbaby :(
  14. Not sure if anybody has pointed this out yet but Promises now has 7 consecutive weeks as sales #1. I realised that's the longest run at the top for any song since Bleeding Love in 2007 (!) since all the long runners have had separate stints at the top.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_most-...ongs_on_Spotify The only ones not mentioned already are Closer, Don't Let Me Down and Starboy :)
  16. Still, it can't be the most streamed by a huge distance given Promises has been ahead on Spotify all week, and the latter must have done an extra, what, 7-8k on pure sales? I get how it's possible but it's the biggest shock in ages :P
  17. Genuinely cannot understand how this has happened, Promises is #1 by a significant distance on Spotify and iTunes, was #1 in yesterday's mids and has only been growing as the week went on!
  18. Playing This Is Me and 2002 to skip Panic Room
  19. Actually kind of hoping Shotgun gets put on 59p every third week just to show the OCC how inconsistent the ACR rules are
  20. It actually had 16 weeks top 20 :o
  21. Thought it might be that, thanks! Looks like that won't be beaten any time soon with ACR!
  22. I haven't listened to the chart in a few weeks but listening today I can see why, there are just so many urban tracks which make me want to mute the radio :( On the other hand, Shotgun potentially returning to #1 after five weeks away will be interesting - what's the longest gap between runs at the top within the same chart run?

Fair enough, I'm a little behind the times. I don't think it would be a terrible strategy for them to quit releasing albums altogether though since they have so much singles success when they don't oversaturate the market with their songs, and albums don't really sell well these days. I was also hoping they'd maintain their top 5 singles streak, which probably won't happen if they release an album :P

Didn't Clean Bandit announce around a year ago that they had no plans to release an album and had settled into releasing standalone singles every 6 months? Unless that has changed I wouldn't expect an album anytime soon!

Well I could have been in contention to win if I'd gone with Bionic... Genuinely thought The Vamps would be more infamous now that they've broken her record, oops
