  1. Sunday Morning is my favourite of theirs

"Stan" by Eminem would be 18 due to...85% of the lyrics?

Not a number 1 single but "The Bad Touch" by the Bloodhound Gang would need an X-rating!
  4. Make You Feel My Love is what made Adele Don't @ me
  5. The fact that DBSHOY basically samples If You're Happy and You Know It, is my favourite music fact ever
  6. It still baffles me that She Said outperformed every single Ed Sheeran song - even The A Team, which only came out 16 months later. I'm also surprised Hey Soul Sister didn't outpace Drive By.
  7. Going back to my Chasing Cars prediction earlier: since it was only number 16 on this list, that means that its airplay from 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2009 alone was enough to make it more popular than any hit from the 2010s when the list of the top songs of the century was made last year!
  8. It's definitely Chasing Cars. Last July it was revealed as the most played song of the century, nearly a decade after being named the most played of the 2000s. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-49008689 That either means: 1. It was played so much between 2006 and 2009 that even all the 2010s hits couldn't catch up or 2. It continued to played so often post-2009 that it outperformed all the other songs
  9. I adore The Bad Touch 😁
  10. Garage songs in both of the top 2 slots!
  11. 1. Dancing in the Moonlight has more streams than No Scrubs or All Star? 2. DITM came out in 2000 - big blunder on the BPI's part.

Shouldn't Summer of '69 be in the pre-1994 category?

Mr Brightside now into the 3 millions!
  14. Duffy had the biggest album of 2008, while Adele didn't even finish in the top 15. I'd go as far as to say that "Make You Feel My Love" trickle-selling is what saved her career. I hope Duffy makes a comeback, but after revealing what happened to her a few years ago, I'm not sure. :'(
  15. I'm 24. I'd literally never heard of Norah Jones until about 5 years ago - it's astonishing how big she was.
  16. Fall to Grace must be a near miss too. It was on 713,000 in 2017.
  17. Same. Astonishing how Rockferry is still bigger than all of Rihanna's albums.
  18. It's older than Instagram

Hall & Oates - You Make My Dreams J.Lo - Let's Get Loud Chuck Berry - Johnny B. Goode Simon & Garfunkel - The Sound of Silence

    The Captain is my favourite!
  21. Did I miss My Way crossing a million? I don't remember an article about that!
  22. LOUD, actually.
  23. Get Lucky feels like it should be higher to be honest
  24. Every single Beatles song outsold by a song from 2013: it's phenomenal how big "Happy" was. And to be honest, it could still reach 2 million.
  25. Contrary to its performance other countries, "Iris" bombed in the UK back in the 90s, but found a new lease of life after being sung so many times on The X Factor, then again when Robbie Kennedy's BGT audition went viral in 2013. Like Mr Brightside, it sticks around and never goes away. Beautiful song.
