Adele's 25 one year on
25 broke the record for reaching 1 million, 2 million and 3 million in the quickest time. Anyone know what the 4 million record is? Then again only 9 albums in history have sold that many.

Adele's 25 one year on
It's what they did earlier this year with Starships: waited a while longer for YNWA to hit the million mark so they could announce them together.

Adele's 25 one year on
It might have done, but the OCC may be hanging on for now so they can announce another million seller at the same time.

Hello could become the most recently-released million seller. If it does it will certainly hold that position for a long time

Adele's 25 one year on
Adele's 25 one year on We look at the first 12 months of a global phenomenon. By Justin Myers A year ago this week, Adele's third release 25 went straight in at Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart, hitting chart milestones and mashing records all over the world. We look at the impressive stats that have earned 25 its place as an instant classic. 25 is the fastest-selling album of all time 25 sold an amazing 800,307 copies in its first chart week, more than any other album ever managed. This beat a previous record by Oasis, who'd sold 695,761 copies of Be Here Now in its first chart week, despite being on sale for only three days. While Oasis did sell 813,000 in its first seven days of sales, it's chart eligibility weeks that count toward the record books, putting Adele out in front. 25 was the biggest selling album of 2015 Of course it was! An astonishing 2,495,899 of you took 25 home in 2015, and these figures don't include streaming either – 25 wasn't available on streaming services until mid-2016. 25 is the biggest selling album of 2016 (so far) Not content with totally acing one year, Adele is pretty much on track to claim 2016's top selling album too – 623,000 copies finding their way to you this year so far. Blimey. 25 is already one of the biggest selling albums of all time It may have only been in our lives a year, but its place in the annals of history is assured. Fewer than 30 albums in British chart history have sold over 3 million copies, but 25 is up there – an astonishing 3.12 million copies sold. Adele, we're running out of adjectives here to describe how massive this thing is; you need to cut us some slack. 25 has been Number 1 album four times The album has spent a total of 13 weeks at the top – so far, anyway; this is Adele so anything can happen – over four separate occasions. its longest consecutive run was at the end of 2015 and running into 2016. 25 has never left the Top 40 Along with not budging from the Top 40 for its entire run, 25 spent 36 weeks in the Official Albums Chart Top 10. 25 spawned three Top 10s Lead single Hello was the sixth biggest song of 2015, spending three weeks at Number 1, landing as the fastest-selling single of 2015, with 333,000 sales in its first week. Hello also broke a first-week streaming record, with 7.32 million listens. Follow-ups When We Were Young and Send My Love (To Your New Lover) hit 9 and 5 respectively. It's the fastest album to sell a million copies 10 days, guys. Plus… It's sold two million copies faster than any other 25 passed the two-million mark on its 29th day on sale. While we're here… 25 reached the three-million sales milestone quicker than any other album Seriously. It took Adele seven months to do it, passing the big 3 mil the week she headlined Glastonbury and returned to Number 1 for a fourth stint. 25 was the most popular entertainment release of 2015 Nothing outsold 25 in 2015. Nothing! Adele beat FIFA, Call Of Duty and Jurassic park to be THE must-have release of 2015. It helped Adele win four BRIT Awards Thanks to 25, Adele was the queen of the 2016 BRIT Awards, taking home four statuettes for Best British Album, Best Single, Best Female Solo Artist and the Global Success Award. Seriously, there are some big sales happening here 25 is certified 10x Platinum in the UK, and in the US has achieved Diamond certification status, with over 10 million copies sold. 25 has shifted over 20 million copies across the world. 25's tracks, ranked So when it comes to downloads, how do the tracks on 25 shape up? Which are the most popular? No prizes for guessing the Top 3, but here goes… Hello has sold over 918,700 copies to take its place at Number 1! Could Adele be heading for a third million-selling single? It's looking good… 1 HELLO (918,700) 2 WHEN WE WERE YOUNG 3 SEND MY LOVE (TO YOUR NEW LOVER) 4 ALL I ASK 5 WATER UNDER THE BRIDGE 6 MILLION YEARS AGO 7 REMEDY 8 I MISS YOU 9 LOVE IN THE DARK 10 RIVER LEA 11 SWEETEST DEVOTION ©2016 Official Charts Company. Olly Murs' Official Top 10 biggest songs revealed
Olly Murs' Official Top 10 biggest songs revealed By Justin Myers Pop's premier cheeky chappy and all-round diamond geezer Olly Murs is finally back with us, releasing his new album 24HRS this week. While we wait to see if it can score him a fourth Number 1 on the Official Albums Chart, let's look back at the songs that made him a success, and count down his all-time Top 10 songs based on sales and streams. "I know this!" Olly told Official Charts when we quizzed him on his biggest sellers. "I think it's 1. Troublemaker, 2. Dance with Me Tonight and 3..." Let us stop you there Olly, because you're wrong. Top of the heap is Olly's second Number 1 single, Dance with Me Tonght, which hit the top in December 2011, after a very memorable performance with the Muppets on The X Factor – the show that started it all for Mr Murs. It's his top-seller with just under 797,000 copies shifted, and while it was released before streaming contributed toward the chart, its 6.5 million plays makes it Olly's biggest song. 2012 Number 1 Troublemaker settles for silver – 765,000 of you bought this one, and it's been streamed 8.8 million times. It's Olly's only chart-topper to last longer than a week at Number 1. Up in third is Olly's collaboration with Demi Lovato, Up, which spent 19 weeks in the Top 40, peaking at 4. It's sold 502,000 copies, but as it was released after streaming began to be counted, its 27.6 million plays means it's Olly's most streamed track of all-time – so far! Another chart-topper, Olly's first ever, is fourth. Heart Skips A Beat, which features Rizzle Kicks, spent a week at the top in 2011, and has 706,000 sales under its belt, along with 3.3 million streams. Dear Darlin' was a Number 5 hit in 2012 and it also finishes fifth in Olly's all-time Top 10 – 701,000 bought this one, and it's notched up 9.77 million streams. Olly's most recent Top 40 hit You Don't Know Love just makes his Top 10, thanks to 144,000 sales and 17.9 million streams. But which is Olly's personal favourite? "Honestly, it changes," he told us. "When you do a new album you hear all these new songs and you fall in love with them. "The Top 3 singles you've mentioned are probably my best. There's no better feeling when you come on stage to perform those songs and the audience reacts in a big way and sings them back to you." That all said, he added: "Kiss Me is a song I love so much. Dear Darlin' as well is big a favourite of mine. I've been lucky enough to have hits over the years. Hopefully I can continue this with this new album." Are there any singles he's gone off or regrets over the years? "Probably Army Of Two," he told us, "but I liked it because it was for the fans and I wrote it for them. It set up the next single Dear Darlin' nicely though. Sometimes it's just about finding the right moment to put something out." Olly Murs' Official Top 10 biggest songs of all time are: TITLE PEAK YEAR 1 DANCE WITH ME TONIGHT 1 2011 2 TROUBLEMAKER 1 2012 3 UP 4 2014 4 HEART SKIPS A BEAT 1 2011 5 DEAR DARLIN' 5 2012 6 WRAPPED UP 3 2014 7 PLEASE DON'T LET ME GO 1 2010 8 KISS ME 11 2015 9 THINKING OF ME 4 2010 10 YOU DON'T KNOW LOVE 15 2016 ©2016 Official Charts Company. All rights reserved. While we're here, let's have a look at his albums, shall we? Olly's biggest album is his third, Right Place Right Time, which spent 16 weeks in the Top 10 and two of those at Number 1 in 2012. Its combined sales tally – comprising physical sales, downloads and streams – stands at a whopping 1.34 million. Olly has another million-selling album to his name, too; sophomore album In Case You Didn't Know, from 2011, is on 1.1 million. Fewer than 20,000 combined sales separate Olly's first album and his fourth, Never Been Better, but his self-titled debut edges it to make third place.
