I am SOOOOOOOOO thankful for this list!
  3. Can't Stop the Feeling is now a "million seller" - Justin's first
  4. 10 years ago, Justin Timberlake finally scored his very first Number 1 in the UK, almost four years after launching his solo career. The song that made him a chart-topper was, of course, SexyBack – perhaps the pop world's greatest song about taking something back to a shop. What's more, he's still racking up global smashes today; his current single Can't Stop The Feeling has just hit a huge milestone in the UK - more on that below... To celebrate, we've had a good old poke through the archives, crunched some numbers and revealed his biggest songs. The Top 5 Counting sales and streams, Justin's Top 5 looks a little something like this: Justin's current single has been a runaway hit, notching up combined sales of just over one million (1.008m to be precise, split between downloads and streams pretty much 50/50) to become his biggest hit yet. The track, taken from the movie Trolls, was kept off Number 1 by chart-topping juggernaut One Dance, from Drake. Mirrors was a big comeback for Justin when it hit Number 1 in 2013. It was his first chart-topper in almost five years and paved the way for his first album for SEVEN years – The 20/20 Experience Part 1. Mirrors ruled the top spot for three weeks and has a stellar combined chart sales tally of 929,000. Up next? That very first chart-topper. SexyBack was another career-defining moment for JT, shifting away from the poppy R&B of debut album Justified and homing in on a sharper, more electronic sound. Despite distorted vocals and barely making a cameo himself on his own chorus – leaving the bulk of the work to his old pal Timbaland – SexyBack became a signature track for Justin and went straight in at the top, with over 645,000 chart sales to its name. Justin is famed for his all-star collaborations, and up in fourth is possibly his starriest of them all. Justin teamed up with Madonna for 4 Minutes, the lead single from her 2008 album Hard Candy. It was a winning combination – the track spent 4 weeks at Number 1, which is Justin's longest run at the top, and boasts over 539,000 combined sales. Rounding off our Top 5 is Justin's biggest song from 2003 debut album is Cry Me A River, the one that got everybody talking. Fresh form his breakup with Britney Spears, Justin played on public interest by casting a woman who had more than a passing resemblance to his ex in the video. Match that with the song's theme of infidelity and you've got tabloid gold, basically – not to mention chart gold! Cry Me A River got no further than Number 2 – kept off the top by tATu's All The Things She Said – but has over 504,000 chart sales under its belt. Other notable entries Another megastar collaboration, this time with hip-hop legend Jay Z, finishes just outside the Top 5. Holy Grail was JT's last Top 10 hit before Can't Stop The Feeling, reaching Number 7 in 2013. Its chart sales tally stands at 451,000. Ciara collabo Love Sex & Magic just misses Justin's Top 10 big ones, as do his solo debut Like I Love You (Number 2 in 2002) and his 2007 Number 1 with Timbaland, Give It To Me. It may not have made the Top 10, but Rihanna teamup Rehab – try saying that after a few vodka and tonics – still comes in 17th, with Senorita, the only single from Justified to miss the Top 10, right behind it. 8. Grenade could join the million sellers club soon!
  9. Sexy and I Know It will get there eventually as well.
  10. Burn and Your Song have around 800k each. I believe LMLYD may be a little more than that. HLWILY was one of the last songs to go platinum on sales alone so 700k would be a push for that one.
  11. Your "Paradise" estimate is a little off - the OCC said 965,500 in February.
  12. 950k by June last year and 28k more just two months later, so I'm actually not surprised
  13. Anything that's sold at least 900,000 I would consider "close"
  14. Or during 2014 - songs like Waves by Mr Probz and Ghost by Ella Henderson must be close
  15. The only songs that will sell 1 million anymore are the trickle sellers that are already almost there
  16. 11.6m for Olly Murs? Wow, that's more than I thought!
  17. One Direction's What Makes You Beautiful is the UK's latest million-selling song By Justin Myers A lot can change in five years, and life has certainly moved pretty fast for the five original members of One Direction since they scored their first ever hit in 2011. Five may have become four, but Niall, Louis, Liam, Harry and former member Zayn can all celebrate today with the news they've scored their first ever million-selling single thanks to What Makes You Beautiful. MORE: See all the UK's million-selling singles Two weeks ago saw the fifth anniversary of What Makes You Beautiful debuting at Number 1 on the Official Singles Chart, and now the song becomes only the 167th single in UK chart history to pass the seven-figure milestone. What Makes You Beautiful was the first of four chart-toppers for One Direction. Zayn left the band in 2015, but the remaining four carried on to score their final Number 1 album and single, before going on hiatus in early 2016. MORE: See all One Direction's UK hit singles and albums Zayn scored a Number 1 with his first solo hit Pillowtalk and debut album Mind of Mine, while Niall became the first of the remaining four to release solo material, scoring a Top 10 with This Town this week. One Direction's huge achievement sees them join artists like Michael Jackson, the Beatles, Adele, Elton John, Queen and Abba in the exclusive million-sellers' club. This big sales milestone also makes an impact in the league table of successful X Factor stars. Take a look at the biggest acts of The X Factor based on chart sales

  20. Adele was the Queen of the Official Albums Chart in 2015 and it appears that she doesn’t want to give up her throne. Not only was Adele’s third studio album 25 the fastest-selling album of all time and the biggest seller of 2015, OfficialCharts.com can reveal that the record has also sold more copies than any other so far in 2016. 25’s year-to-date total currently stands at 623,000 combined chart sales, made up of physical, digital and streaming equivalent sales. 25’s paid-for sales make up a staggering 96% of its overall combined tally, with 598,500 copies sold in the UK this year. Discounting streams that 25 has amassed since it was added to Spotify and Apple Music in June, the album has passed the 3 million sales mark, becoming one of only 26 albums in history to do so. Adele’s second album 21 also appears in 2016’s Top 40 biggest albums at Number 31. 25 is already in the Top 30 of the UK's best selling albums of all time, as revealed in July as part of the Official Charts Company's celebrations for the Official Albums Chart's 60th anniversary. The album has gone 10x Platinum in the UK and was recently certified Diamond in the US for shifting over 10 million units. Justin Bieber’s Purpose ranks second in the Top 40 with a combined chart sales total of 413,000. Sitting in the Top 10 for 31 weeks in total (25 of which were in 2016), the album is the most streamed YTD with 169,500 streaming equivalent sales. Despite a strong performance, Purpose actually peaked at Number 2 twice, behind One Direction in 2015 and Adele in March 2016. The biggest album released in 2016 so far is David Bowie’s Blackstar, which is the year’s second biggest seller. As it stands, it is the third biggest record of the year with combined sales of 376,000. In addition to his 25th and final studio album, Best of Bowie is at 5 with 316,000 chart sales across all formats, while his Nothing Has Changed compilations is at 20. Flanked by a successful arena tour and a headline slot at Glastonbury, Coldplay’s A Head Full of Dreams is the UK’s fourth biggest album of 2016 so far. The band’s seventh studio album has garnered 371,000 combined chart sales. Other than David Bowie’s Blackstar, there are two other 2016 releases that feature in the Top 10 – Drake’s Views at Number 6 (315,000) and Beyonce’s Lemonade at 8 (308,500). 20 albums have achieved over 100,000 combined sales, including Sia’s This Is Acting, The 1975’s chart-topping album I Like It When You Sleep… and Christine and the Queens’ Chaleur Humaine. 21. We’re three quarters of the way through 2016 already, and as we race toward the end of the year, Official Charts can now reveal the official biggest songs of the last nine months. Out in front at Number 1 on the rundown, which is based on combined digital, physical and streaming equivalent sales, is Drake’s One Dance, feat. Wizkid and Kyla. It’s no surprised to see the Canadian star’s debut chart-topper lead the way – One Dance was a monster hit, ruling the Number 1 spot for an incredible 15 weeks over the summer, equalling Wet Wet Wet’s stint with Love Is All Around in 1994. To date, its combined chart sales stand at 1.695m, which includes 504,600 downloads and a whopping 119m streams. As well as also being the most streamed song of the year to date, One Dance also takes the trophy for the biggest one-week combined sales figure for a Number 1 single of the year so far, notching up 140,000 during its fourth week at the top in April. Up in second it’s another huge chart-topper, Lukas Graham’s 7 Years, which spent five weeks at Number 1 in February and March and has racked up 1.402 million combined chart sales. The track finishes top on the sales-only Top 10 (posted below), with 613,000 downloads so far this year. In third place, it’s Mike Posner’s I Took A Pill In Ibiza (Seeb remix). The singer-songwriter’s massive comeback track spent four weeks at the summit in March/April and has notched up combined sales of 1.292m so far. Sia’s Cheap Thrills, which spent a month at Number 2 in April, lands in fourth place (1.281m chart sales) and Calvin Harris and Rihanna’s This is What You Came For, which spent two weeks at Number 2 in May, lands fifth, with a tally of 1.112 million. Meanwhile, Zara Larsson’s Lush Life, which scored 13 weeks in the Top 10 between February and May, is sixth biggest song of 2016 so far (1.07 million), and Rihanna and Drake appear again in seventh place with Work (1.063m chart sales). Despite being only released 10 weeks ago, Cold Water, the former Number 1 from Major Lazer, Justin Bieber and MØ, makes a showing at 23, with 734,000 chart sales, and another recent chart-topper, Closer, from Chainsmokers feat. Halsey, peeks its head round the door at 34 (577,700 chart sales). The Official Top 40 Biggest Songs of 2016 so far are... 24. When you think of Calvin Harris, one word that immediately springs to mind is 'hit-maker'. The Scot has been turning out bangers for the past nine years; ever since his debut single Acceptable in the 80s hit Number 10 in March 2007. Since then, he has achieved seven Number 1 singles, one massive million selling classic and has produced material for Kylie Minogue, Scissor Sisters, Rihanna, Cheryl Cole and Rita Ora. Calv has an impressive 20 Top 10 singles under his belt, and this Friday (September 23), Calvin's new single My Way is expected to become his 21st. Not too shabby, right? Before that nice round figure has a 1 stuck on the end, we thought to look back at his near ten-year chart history and rank his 20 biggest singles. Will all of his Top 10 tunes make it into the list? With streams and sales are combined, let's delve into the Top 5... 5. Blame One of Calvin's most euphoric singles, this John Newman-featured belter is one Calvin often closes out his sets with. Blame was Calvin's third consecutive Number 1 during the Motion album era and was a tough act to follow. The song debuted at the top spot, shifting a combined tally of 70,000 and held in the Top 10 for eight weeks straight. To date, Blame has accumulated combined chart sales of 818,000. 4. Summer Another single from his fourth studio album Motion, Summer was the album's lead single and went straight in at Number 1, riding a wave of momentum following his previous top spot hogger, the non-album track Under Control. Featuring Calvin on vocals, this track was the soundtrack summer 2014 (well, it wasn't going to be winter was it?) and pushed past the 100,000 barrier in week one with a combined total of 106,000. The song is also Calvin's biggest hit with himself on vocals. Too bad I'm Not Alone. Overall, the track has garnered combined sales of 874,000. 3. This Is What You Came For The first of two Number 2 hits in Calvin's all-time Top 5, this bad boy was kept off Number 1 by the almighty One Dance by Drake. Not sure if you've ever heard of that one - people tend to forget it was ever Number 1. Calvin's second hook-up with Rihanna, This Is What You Came For has been a monster hit in 2016. It became Calvin's 20th Top 10 single and RiRi's 28th(!) and achieved over 100,000 combined sales for two weeks running. No doubt Calvin is a little miffed he missed out on an eighth Number 1, but he will certainly be happy with its lifetime total: 1,065,000. 2. How Deep Is Your Love Another song that had to settle for second place, it is back at the runner-up slot again on this list. Calvin tag teamed with Disciples in 2015 for How Deep Is Your Love, which has so far racked up a combined chart sales figure of 1,119,000. Although not Calvin's biggest hit when streaming and sales are combined, it is the most streamed smash in his repertoire and has been played over 70 million times in the UK. The songs that kept this off Number 1? One Direction's Drag Me Down and Charlie Puth and Meghan Trainor's Marvin Gaye. 1. We Found Love Rihanna is back again, this time for the million-selling We Found Love. To date, the song has sold 1,404,000 units, a figure that rises to a combined total of 1,583,000 when streaming data is included. Calvin's only million seller, it has shifted 777,000 more copies than the DJ's second biggest seller Dance Wiv Me, his collaboration with Dizzee Rascal and Chrome. We Found Love topped the Official Singles Chart on two separate occasions, staying on top for six non-consecutive weeks. A song so nice, it was Number 1 twice! The rest of the Top 20 Calvin's second collaboration with Ellie Goulding Outside comes in at Number 6, some 137,000 combined chart sales behind Blame. His first outing with Ellie I Need Your Love also makes the Top 10, as does Sweet Nothing, his duet with Florence Welch. The only one of Calvin's Top 10 singles not to make the cut in the Top 20? It is The Girls. Despite peaking at Number 3 in 2007, the song is at Number 21 overall, just behind the only non-Top 10 on the list, Pray To God which features HAIM and reached Number 35. 25. Looks like Cry Me a River has sold more copies in the 2010s than it did in the 2000s! It's certainly become a modern-day favourite and is even catching up with 4 Minutes!
