  1. I'm excited to share with everyone my oldest ever entry!
  2. Saw that they might have timed it this way to avoid televised debate as the Euros will be on through all of June nearly every night on tv
  3. I Luv It has grown on me more than this one
  4. Season 3 of France is coming and set to debut on WowPresents and TV France on 31st May 2024! This time around we have a cast of 10 queens hosted again by Nicky Doll. Season 3's queens are: Afrodite Amour Edeha Noire Le Filip Leona Winter Lula Strega Magnetica Misty Phoenix Norma Bell Perseo Ruby on the Nail
  5. I'm not sure if it was spoilers but Naysha revealed it at Roscoes the one that released just this week so it's out in the open now
  6. The non elim thing to be honest annoys me given that they've all been paid 50k off the bat as an appearance fee which queens on AS8 didn't get! Just doesn't seem super fair. But I think I might have some drag race fatigue too. I'm looking forward to France though.

Another case in Scotland where 'woman worker wins gender rape group row' is being heavily misrepresented in the media and it's just exhausting. What the situation actually is: * A social worker who was consistently transphobic towards her trans and non-binary colleagues and had a grievance raised against her argued that her 'gender-critical' views were a protected characteristic * Her employer didn't do quite a good enough job of definitively keeping open records on this and has been done essentially for mismanagement How it's being described: * Firstly, as if she worked at a medical centre where trans woman medics were physically investigating cis woman patients to their distress and the social worker was alarmed - complete fiction as the workplace was simply a counselling service * Secondly as if cis women were being forced to take trans woman therapists - none are mentioned in the story either * As if transphobia doesn't exist at all - despite accepting that this woman disliked and disrespected her trans colleagues and believed herself to be gender-critical, which is essentially an analogue for transphobic * As if women were routinely being turned away from the centre after being screened to see if they accepted trans people or not * And just generally people being totally incurious about the actual details of the case and using it as a jumping off point to confirm their existing biases.
  8. I think it doesn't help that AllStars chronology wise it's following AS8 which also had a muted response. People were raring for AS3 after the height of 2 and then had low expectations for 6 after how meh 5 was.
  9. Minor spoiler regarding other franchises:
  10. Do you want some actual 70s disco from Jupiterdonia?
  11. EP 1: 1. Vanjie 2. Jorgeous 3. Plastique 4. Roxxy 5. Angeria 6. Nina 7. Shannel 8. Gottmik I don't understand why now in two first episode verse challenges Gottmik has chosen to both go first and to deliver a verse that isn't really on the beat of the song.
  12. PNAU feels a bit cheap just after Cold Heart!
  13. I don't really feel like 8 is a large enough starting cast for natural dynamics. It worked in All Winners just about because they were all larger than life & mostly already knew each other.
  14. I've only seen the first ep so far. In my opinion Vanjie was robbed. Not a great timing for me as I'm on my holidays this week so not really in!
  15. Is it 15 because they added Hormona Lisa late after Ru invited her personally I wonder? I don't know any of these names immediately though unless they changed their names. Onya Nurve is a hilarious name though
  16. Tbf Olly's (Y&Y) last album wasn't particularly well reviewed either. He is riding a lot on the success of King and the first album and a career resurgence from Its a Sin which itself is now 3 years ago.
  17. Susan Boyle with an original song could be a shout. She has the vocal chops and big name recognition.
  18. Right?? People on socials are really out here acting like straight people are always chaste and modest. I was reading what felt like some light homophobia in the tone of the comments but wanted to be sure I wasn't projecting.
  19. This was exactly what I thought too. Olly was like the B version of Nemo's performance in many ways unfortunately/coincidentally
  20. Comments like 'it was too gay for voters' 'it was simulating sex' etc. I'm like... It wasn't even unless that minimal kind of two men dancing together is 'too sexual' for general straight audiences. Some of whom should be familiar with Olly as an actor from It's A Sin...
  21. Social media seems to be going off with this angle and I'm not sure if I'm in a bubble (in which it's not) and these are a minority of people being oversensitive, or if it actually is. Shocking here in the sense of 'scandalous' etc. as opposed to 'shockingly bad' or 'deserving of low points'. Personally I didn't find it at all shocking. It was a performance with male dancers who did a bit of dancing together performed by a gay lead artist who was pretty fully clothed. But feel free to disagree, the point of this poll is 'ask the audience'.
  22. Yeah Israel getting 15 12s is bullshit. The song was fine, nothing special. They have a cheek to say it's not political. And what's this about 100 countries being able to televote, did I hear that wrong?
  23. They need to follow the formula and pick a lane. A successful Eurovision entry has at least one or more of: a) super-strong vocal with notable vocal moments within the performance (e.g. Sam Ryder, Marco Mengoni, Gjon's Tears, Slimane, Conchita, Nemo) b) super-strong dance including, usually, a dance break (e.g. Chanel, Eleni Foureira, Ruslana) c) super-strong staging or storytelling accompanying a catchy song (e.g. Alexander Rybak, Mans Zelmerlow, Ruslana, Go_A, Loreen with Tattoo) Olly this contest? The vocal was decent but couldn't compete with any of the powerhouses in the competition, even though Olly is a good singer and could possibly have with a different arrangement of the track had a vocal moment. The dancing was fine, but he and the dancers were caged off in a box that didn't allow much room to manouver for tv, and there wasn't really a dance break to speak of. And the staging, yes, it was fine, but the song was then a bit generic for it - make me dizzy from your kisses is just a bit of a generic love song lyric, it doesn't have much authenticity to it. I haven't followed this year's contest a huge amount but I'm also unsure if Olly did much of a press tour in Europe to promote the song which would also have helped if there was a decent push. For 2025? They should pick a strong vocalist and maybe actually try something emotive for a change. An unknown singer would be a shout. Or what's someone like Emeli Sande up to these days?
