Actually no. It was a huge hit in France, Italy, Germany and many other non-spanish speaking countries prior to the remix. The remix basically exposed the song to the Anglosphere but the song sticked around thanks to people actually liking it.

Why is everyone loving Swish Swish? 90% of the lyrics are cringey af and Nicki Minaj is the best part of the song, that speaks volumes. Also, it's an obvious Girls Like ripoff. Iggy released the best single this Friday, too bad it won't do much.
