The Gallup Years- Top 10 Sales- 1989
Don't know whether I'm just being bias or not, this being my era and all but there seems to be a lot of good singles from 1989 that are now largely forgotten about. There will be more coming up later but one currently charting is the song by Ten City, which I bought at the time and still love it now.

I had the same singles on 7", except I had Bomb The Bass instead of the Hollies.

Naff Lyrics - indulge your love of old odd lyric silliness
Rapture by Blondie is good but the rap is nonsensical. Tin tin included Steve Kipner who later wrote some classics like Physical & Hard habit to break.

Naff Lyrics - indulge your love of old odd lyric silliness
I love Blinded By The Light but can never make sense of the lyrics. For example. "And go-kart Mozart was checkin' out the weather chart To see if it was safe outside And little Early-Pearly came by in his curly-wurly And asked me if I needed a ride "

Oasis performing two songs on the same show, I think it was The Jam who were the last ones to do so.

Creedence Clearwater Revival
Yes, great band. I always liked BMR as a kid, then bought their compilation about ten years ago. One that hasn't been mentioned, which is a fave of mine is As Long As I Can See The Light.

90s Top 10 Sales Week By Week- 1995
In fact Unchained Melody is one of the fastest million sellers of all time, at 3 weeks it's only beaten by Evergreen, Candle In The Wind & Do They Know It's Xmas. 9 chart (top 75) weeks is the average time to reach a million.

Paul McCartneys sale at no.3 is even bigger than the 161,397 sold by Whitney Houston's It's Not Right But It's Okay at no.3 in March 1999!

Julian rates every pre 1980 Top 40 hit
On the subject of Lucille by The Every Bros, I watched the excellent Little Richard Documentary on BBC 2 last night. I was obsessed with 60s music in the 90s partly down to Britpop and also the excellent Encyclopedia Of Hits by Dave McAleer, which covers all the UK & US top ten hits of the decade. I've Heard alot of the big hits but still not everything as yet, so hats off to you Julian T for reviewing them all!

I like The Swamp Thing more now than I did at the time. Crazy For You still sounds just as good now as it did then.
