would have Much preferred to have heard Blue Zoo, instead of the Beatles, not that I have anything against the beatles but its just you dont hear Blue Zoo much these days. Incidentally Tim Parry of Blue Zoo later formed Big Life Records with Jazz Summers. Which gave us Yazz, Lisa Stansfield, Orb, Soupdragons and a whole host of pther great 90's hits
  5. Nouelty records always sell well over xmas & jiue bunny fit into that category
  6. I Believe In Father Xmas by Greg Lake is my fave Xmas song  Which you never hear anymore on radio

Listening to R1 yesterday and they played Step Into Christmas by Elton John :o I know there is a lack of currrent Christmas themed songs around in 21st century but didnt realise it was so bad that R1 have to break their policy about not playing old songs!

Not often you get to hear other soft cell records other than Tainted Love. What is a good song and grows on you. According to https://secondhandsongs.com/performance/300...ions#nav-entity the original was by Melinds Marx (daughter of Groucho Marx) in 1965, then Judy Street in 1966 and Tina Mason in 1967. Love Talk Talk, however do prefer Talk Talk and o fcourse Its my Life to Today Save A Prayer not one of my fave songs by Duran Duran Dexys Midnight Runners another band you don't hear much else of their material other than Eileen

There are no rules its a decision between the act and label who gets credit even if they do contribute toward 90% of the song like in the case of clean bandit & sean paul
  13. fiesta posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
Just because an act is featured on a song doesnt mean they are automatically given credit. Back in the days of the physical format there were never problems like this

RIP. I Like Night Has A Thousand Eyes and Take Good Care Of My Baby . Rubber Ball was quite good too (co-written by Gene Pitney) Some interesting Facts I dug out about Bobby Vee His backing band on tour were called The Shadows, following the death of Buddy Holly (of which Vee was a big fan) in a plane carash . He and his band stood in for him at the gig he was scheduled to play in February 1959. In July 1959, they decided to recruit a pianist called Elston Gunn, he played two gigs with them and was payed $30 and asked to leave due to compatibility differences. He later changed his name and became known as Bob Dylan! In November 1962, Vee recorded an album with Buddy Holly's group the Crickets, it was his biggest album in the UK peaking at number 2-held off from the top of the chart by The Shadows (Hank Marvin's group) with Out Of The Shadows! His hit More Than I Can Say was originally by The Crickets, Vee also had a minor American hit with a cover of Adam Faith's What Do You Want. Faith later discovered and managed Leo Sayer, who also covered More Than I Can Say-produced by ex Shadow Alan Tarney!

  24. your probably right, they charted seven singles in 1990 and over a million sales, which was good for the early 90's. They didn't have the longevity that other teen idols that came after them enjoyed, which is a pity as some of their songs were quite good. Maybe the change of name and music style in later years was their downfall. 06/01/1990 New Kids On The Block Hangin' Tough {1990} 1 9-{1}-1-2-7-14-26-39-49->9 17/03/1990 New Kids On The Block I'll Be Loving You (Forever) 5 11-{5}-7-12-22-23-31-47->8 12/05/1990 New Kids On The Block Cover Girl 4 8-{4}-4-8-14-29-42-65->8 16/06/1990 New Kids On The Block Step By Step 2 {2}-5-12-23-30-45-72->7 04/08/1990 New Kids On The Block Tonight 3 17-8-6-4-{3}-5-8-20-30-50->10 13/10/1990 New Kids On The Block Let's Try Again/Didn't I (Blow Your Mind) 8 16-{8}-16-24-47->5 08/12/1990 New Kids On The Block This One's For The Children 9 13-{9}-13-20-15-38-62->7
