  1. The Slade song is great I only discovered it 5-6 years ago. All other Slade songs tend to get forgotten about Barr Merry Xmas Everybody.
  2. Pop master is to be made into a TV show hosted by Ken Bruce. https://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-65199803
  3. can't get used to losing you is a proper earworm. Williams has the definitive version, but the Beat version is good too.
  4. Oops a triple post
  5. I voted Temptation my fave no.2 of the 80s, I also have memories of it in my teens from the 1992 remix.
  6. Rhythm of the rain is a good song. On the NME chart they also made number 25 with Shy Girl in the June of this year. Mark Wynter will cover it.
  7. Totp sale 26 mar I like to move it 175k (this looks almost about right) Doop 370k (too big)

Although the dates don't correspond to when sales are taken they do reflect what the known number one is. For example Miley cyrus was revealed on Friday as the no.1, but as of today no one knows this week's no 1 till Friday so the known No1 is still miley Cyrus.
  9. Sales from totp 5 Mar Breathe Again 300k 12 Mar Without You over 500k Rocks is a good song, Rod Stewart later covered it Song from M People is good toio. Elegant Slumming was the first album I bought on CD.

7% of top 20 hits are covers. Would be interesting to have them split by decade, find out which decade has the highest rate for covers. My money would be on the 60s.
  11. Man I feel like a woman is great and it has a good video too. The no.1 I don't like anywhere near as much, it was played to death on the radio in 1999 (still is)
  12. Excellent album. I like all the singles from it. It's alright is probably my least fave of them all but still good. I have Always On My Mind and the cover versions of Losing my mind (written by Stephen Sondheim) and Im not scared on 7" (also have Dusty's In private too).
  13. AJ Tracey also sampled it on his top ten single Dinner Guest. Also John Reid of the Nightcrawlers has written no.1s for Leona Lewis & Westlife. Whilst the track is ok I much prefer MK"s hit 17 from a few years ago.
  14. The b-side of the Mel Torme hit, Right Now some of you may recognise as it was a hit for The Creatures in 1983.

I think it may find a home on CBBC or BBC 3. Channels aimed at much younger audience. After all the TOTP re-runs are on BBC4 aimed at a more mature audience. Also I think they probably find it difficult to get acts to appear on the show and bad ratings won't help

Love The Dean & I one of my favourites of theirs.
  22. Looking at the sales for Macy Gray, sales peaked on her first week at number 7 at almost 58,000 and by the time she peaked at 6 her sales had fallen by over a third. Her first 10 weeks totalled 383,000. LeAnn Rimes did 326,000 in the same time frame.
  23. Surprised the Whitney song has gone was expecting it to be top 20. Londonbeat is good but I had no room for it.
  24. Summer of '69 has become a classic deserves to be most streamed single of 1985. Originally it only ranked 317th with 36000 sales.
