  1. the original first week sale for Whatever was 134k and the correct conversion calculation is 100/12.72*17
  2. I think Olly Murs is one of the better acts to come out of X Factor, most of the others with the excemption maybe of Leona lewis is pretty rubbish.
  3. John Travolta will join the likes of The Beatles, John Lennon, Madonna, Frankie Goes To Hollywood in having the top two singles of the week, with Your The One and Sandy!
  4. For any younger readers. Vinyls are those big black discs that dont fit into your CD player! :P

Im not keen on Vienna either, but I wouldnt go as far as to say I prefer Shaddup Your Face over it! Dancing With Tears In My Eyes is my fave Ultravox single.
  6. It may happen, without their ever being a significant event or death to spark it off. At the rate some songs sell on download they could do it eventually. Boh Rhap or a christmas song like Last Xmas selling say on average a couple of thousand a week, will surpass 5 million eventually.
  7. Shooting Stars maybe wasnt one of David Courtney's best songs, Dollars follow up Who Were You With In The Moonlight was better I thought! Unertones nice song but now it has a habit of reminding me of One Direction argh!!
  8. 1,359 people have downloaded Overload by Sugababes so far this year!
  9. Colorado- they're not a million miles away from Chicago... :lol

I have read that there was a UK R&B chart published starting in 1965 (apparently, Otis Redding had two singles in the top ten). Does anyone know anything more about them, which paper carried these charts and if they are available or does anyone have them?
  11. Summer Night City is a forgotten gem, so much so they didnt even put it on their Gold Greatest Hits compilation..
  12. I dont mind it if old songs re chart. Its not like its a new thing. Old songs were always being re issued and being hits again long before downloads.
  13. isnt this a cover version? I'm sure someone else has had thios out before?..
  14. Amazingly, according to Wiki, it wasnt Mr Arthur Mullard's first time in the recording studio, he had been recording albums since the 1960's destroying such classics as Yesterday and I Only Have Eyes For You! Can you imagine if he was still alive, him auditioning for Simon Cowell on one of his shows
  15. Very interesting! Thanks for sharing.
  16. Like the website! Love these kind of lists. Many years ago when the now sadly defunct British Hit Singles used to be published annually, and it was under its original authors Paul Gambccini, Tim Rice & Johnathan Rice they used to print loads of lists and feats like these and the ones your blog, in the back of their book.
  17. Miles Kane- Come Closer . How on earth this never managed to make the top 75, I'll never know!
  18. A personal fave Who song of mine - Pictures Of Lily

Not sure if everyone is celebrating to quickly, they discovered Chartstats and look what happened to that...
  20. Maggies farm by The Specials is a bob dylan cover too. I love Dreadlock Holiday, one of my fave songs by 10cc along with The Dean & I and Silly Love
  21. Oh this should be interesting. Thanks for doing :D C...I'm guessing will be the Carpenters?..
  22. Love the Foriegner song, much better than their number one. Just reading, didn't realise that Renaissence was formed by ex Yardbirds Keith Relf & Jim McCarty in 1970, even though by 1978 the line-up had completley changed.
  23. I have never really got into the song Its Only Make Believe in any version..
