  7. All shook up was re-released but wasnt chart eligable
  8. Well and truly beat his brother then, who is only at no. 401.
  9. #150 for the first ever no.1 hit :o Thats pretty good!
  10. RIP :( he has just recently passed away on the 22nd. Was once married to Elizabeth Taylor
  11. Its very hard to guess where theyll be as they have all similar chart runs, and its not always the ones with most weeks on top that end up higher. Mine are probably way out lol
  12. Gina G Ooh Aah... Just A Little Bit 246 Eric Prydz Call On Me 167 Shaggy It Wasn't Me 98
  13. Maybe one of the x factor finalists will release it and make it top 10 for a 4th time.
  14. This song is among a list of rare songs to have been a top 10 hit in 4 different versions this version plus Glenn Campbell, Child and Billy Fury. Other songs to achieve this are Unchained Melody, Cant Help Falling In Love and Cant Take My Eyes Off You
  15. I usually do it by most weeks at peak position, then top 10 top 20 and so on down the chart. Though Dont soppose it really matters.
  16. thats seems an unusual way to do it...
  17. How do you break up songs with tied number of points?
  18. :o Crazy Gnarls Barkley is low for a 9 week stay at no.1!
  19. I bought the first edition of top 20 charts book (I also bought the albums one too) they were compiled by Dave McAleer -all of his books are excellent btw. I no longer still have the books but I'm sure that they used to use a points system, but not just the tradional points system it was alot more complex than that. It mentions it in the book if I remember right? I still have Dave McAleer's UK & US Hit Singles book, which came out in 1990 and was an excellent book, sadly there was never any more editions. Though in it he compiled the biggest singles artists by various categories for both the UK & US. In that he used extra bonus points for singles that peaked top 10 and top 5.
  20. I Gotta Feeling the BEP's could be no.1 or very close to being so. If not I highly suspect a recent number one from the last couple of years could be as they tend to linger around alot now with downloads.
  21. Thanks for that. Was wondering wheather theyd be another edition of Top 40 Charts. :) Shame there isnt going to be another one, there just isnt the demand for old charts anymore like there used to be :(

I dont think this is such a big deal for record companies. Theres nothing to say that people wouldnt download the cover and the the original when it became available aswell! Katy Perry didnt do bad out of it with I Kissed A Girl, no.1 600,000 sales and the cover version probably barely sold 2% of that amount. Its not something I'd imagine Big Record Companies will be losing sleep over.
