I voted for Springsteen, Nick's & Driscoll. Surprised not many have voted for This Wheels On Fire (written by Bob Dylan) I grew up with it as another version by Driscoll was used in the 90s as the theme to Absolutely Fabulous. :D
  6. They are finally showing the TOTP Story Of 1991, Saturday 745pm on BBC 2. :cheer:
  7. I like Bittersweet Symphony and I also like the Rest Assured version aswell.

I don't very much. I used to back in a time before the internet. I always would have a blank cassette in to record the top 40 so I could listen to all the current hits. I didn't have alot of money so couldn't always afford to buy alot of records, Now albums were good but sometimes you had to wait months for them to come out. If streaming was available then I don't think I would have listened to the radio as much as I never was keen on all the DJ talk.

Apart from for nostalgia reasons I don't really know why anyone listens to the chart show any more. When you can hear the songs on the chart whenever you want on Spotify or YouTube. Make a playlist of the chart include the songs you like etc.

It was used in the film Indecent Proposal
  11. Never liked Bon Jovi's slow songs. The ones Popchartfreak has mentioned are good plus also Have A Nice Day and Hey God is good too.
  12. Sophie B Hawkins is great I also enjoyed her other big hit Right Beside You in 1994.
  13. Slight Return is ok but Marblehead Johnson is my fave single from The Bluetones, I bought the single on cassette at the time.
  14. Whatever is great but was not available on any of their albums till Time Flies in 2009. Might go some way to explaining why it made the EOY top 100 three years running (94-96),can't think of any other song to do that in the pre-digital era.
  15. Surprised The Kooks Naive is on the list, good to see Arctic Monkeys in there.
  16. I predict 1 Madonna 2 Soft Cell 3 PSB 4 Human League 5 M Jackson
  17. I remember reading somewhere that apparently the BBC got a lot of complaints about the Praga Khan record. Something to do with the title, maybe people believed it was about drugs.
  18. It's A Sin that West End Girls only came 9th that song is Always On My Mind!
  19. I have the 7" of Ride On Time. Two versions were released one with the original vocal and another with session singer (the one I have). However the name of the singer is not mentioned on the record and like MDF I didn't think it sounded like Heather Small either..
  20. Yes Weather With You is not one of their best. Locked Out & Pineapple Head are the stand out singles from Together Alone for me.
  21. I loved Rozalla's Are You Ready To Fly at the time and still sounds good now.
  22. Desire is my favourite, Real isn't bad either.
  23. I bought Eternal Flame, I Should Be So Lucky, I Think Were Alone Now and Heart singles at the time. I remember being upset about PSB"s being knocked off no.1 by S express!

I think it's maybe supposed to be by Roberta Flack not the Emotions
  25. Surprised I Should be so lucky has made the top 50! Alot s.a.w's better songs didn't reach number one imo.
