  14. Moooo posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
Oh great, thanks. Usually the signing happens after its release to spike sales. So of course the Thursday sales would count for the current week, thank you

Hi, I know it's not the right place but could anybody answer this? If an artist had a cd signing in HMV on the Thursday befor the Friday of the release, could they sell the new album at the signing? Obviously that's the point of the signing, anybody know how that works? Like chart wise , cheers

  22. Moooo posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
But surely if you pay for something? It means you really like it? I understand streaming, I do. But from a chart point of view it's = zzzzzzzzzz
  23. Moooo posted a post in a topic in UK Charts
And I respect your opinion, but a chart should be paid for sales, end of.

The singles chart is a joke. Really I'm old fashioned etc etc,, but why add streaming? Seriously. Songs on the chart for 40 - 50 weeks. As many have said before, it's number one without being top 10 in sales? I know times have moved on etc etc, but c,mon. Look at the vinyl revival, ok it's not huge but at least it's paid for, if people just keep listening to a song for basically free? How can it really be classed as a sale? At least the album charts reflects some reality. Also radio stations are manipulating the charts far too long imo, I always said that if a new single from any artist comes out weather they are 16 or 80, they should receive some AirPlay. It's ageism of the highest order, yet the more mature artists will sell concert tickets far better than the cool hip youngsters. Don't get me wrong, there are a lot of talented younger artists and bands out there, who deserve all they achieve, but it's all too one sided Imo. The X factor used to be a prime example, ohh lets get all the cool kids to perform on the live shows, its target audience was misplaced, as it's a family show and mammy and daddy and big bro and sister also watched. Strictly come dancing at least mixed it up, some more established singers got to sing on it also, hence its viewing figures trashing X factors every week. Look at Rick astley, the album has done well, and there's a half chance of a single denting the chart, but just imagine if radio one had the balls to play it? Yes I know radio two do, but who is to say if it was played to a younger audience that even a small percentage Might just like it? Or any more established singer. Manipulation is ruling the music world, and we as the consumer are ignoring it
