  1. Ladytron's fifth studio album, Gravity the Seducer, will be released on 12 September 2011 (UK)/13 September 2011 (US). The album was co-produced with Barny Barnicott (Arctic Monkeys, Editors). The band member Daniel Hunt said: "Gravity the Seducer is more of a jump than the last album was, more ethereal and melodic, a touch more abstract in places than we've gone before, baroque 'n' roll. It was a pleasure to make, took us right through last summer. It's our best record, in my opinion". http://img202.imageshack.us/img202/9508/ladytrongravitytheseduc.jpg Track listing: 01. White Elephant 02. Mirage 03. White Gold 04. Ace of Hz 05. Ritual 06. Moon Palace 07. Altitude Blues 08. Ambulances 09. Melting Ice 10. Transparent Days 11. 90 Degrees 12. Aces High The first single "White Elephant" was released on 17 May 2011. wjzyv2Q_hdM Ladytron also premiered a second song, "Ambulances". It sounds a bit like Cocteau Twins, Bat For Lashes, Fever Ray etc. Impressive! Hjf7JkQqwfE PS: "White Elephant" music video coming soon.
  2. @Pavel: that The Hundred in the Hands song is 'Pigeons'
  3. "Eyes Be Closed" is excellent! (listening now) :music:
  4. New music video for "A Heavy Abacus": YsGg_07VrX0
  5. "You Are a Tourist" is really beautiful. It will be on my Best of 2011 list. Here's the music video (looks like a Michel Gondry video): qkk5wViJo-I
  6. The new song is great after a few listens. PS: a Velociraptor is actually a predator dinosaur.
  7. This new single is pretty weak. "Lovers in Japan" is much, much better (probably their best song).
  8. Excellent! By the way there's an article about Kasabian's new album on NME.
  9. "From Dusk Till Dawn" by Ladyhawke is just 2:36. The middle-eight could be developed for at least another 30s. Anyway this song is very catchy as it is.
  10. "Song 2" by Blur is a short song (2 min.) but that make it special. Everything is in its right place. But "Intro" by The xx could be a bit longer. It's one of the best intros I ever heard. I didn't know that. Thanks.
  11. Boards of Canada - Roygbiv (2:31) 30s more wouldn't hurt Kasabian - Orange (46s) Too short for such interesting sounds Aphex Twin - I (1:17) Superb little ambient song DJ Shadow - Organ Donor (1:57)
  12. Sounds pretty good. By the way, Sian Evans is the vocalist of the band Kosheen.

  14. Late as usual: Pitchfork gave a 8.2 rating to Best of 00-10 http://www.pitchfork.com/reviews/albums/15377-best-of-00-10/
  15. The embedded videos of Robyn @ Jimmy Kimmel Live: Call Your Girlfriend 4R2zbo--jPA Dancing On My Own spy9uv30y2A
  16. Wounded Rhymes is better than Youth Novels. I like Tove's album more than WR & YN. Lykke's voice is a bit annoying sometimes. Oh Land is not my cup of tea. OK, it was a bit over the top statement... ^_^
  17. Few days ago Phantogram performed 2 songs at Jimmy Kimmel Live: When I'm Small OhiNkpQySmQ As Fas As I Can See Tjgq0o8ZVPM Fantastic performance!
  18. I agree, Tove is a pop artist, but she's different than usual "suspects". She has all the time to grow as an artist (now she's 18). By the way, Tove's "Million Pieces" was written by Adam Olenius (of Shout Out Louds) & Lykke Li. On that Idol contest she performed songs like "Pride (In the Name of Love)" by U2, "Living in America" by The Sounds, "In the Ghetto" by Elvis, "Sweet Dreams" by Annie Lennox, "Life on Mars" by David Bowie, "Will You Be There" by MJ and many more. You can find all of them on Youtube. x-1GJMsjp80 EDIT: "her material nowhere near as good as Lykke's or Oh Land's" Have you actually listened to her album? It's much better than e.g. Lykke's debut album. "they are both way better looking as well!" No.
  19. It reminds me of "Yesterday and Today" album cover by The Field: http://www.clashmusic.com/files/imagecache/big_node_view/files/thefield%20yesterday.jpg
  20. I must add another great Swedish singer to the list, Tove Styrke. She was a contestant on Swedish Idol 2009 but ended up in third place. Last year, Tove released the excellent self-titled debut album. In my opinion it's the second best pop album of 2010 (after "Body Talk" by Robyn). So, if you like some good electropop music, check her music. On a side note, Tove is by far the best looking Swedish singer. :) http://i.imgur.com/qEKtj.jpg "High and Low" music video: IWBDk6QPyZc "White Light Moment" live (her best song): 8SXwRlUfazo "Million Pieces" live: 5WPp20a_3tQ
  21. Sounds great! But: Karen sings too little on this song.
  22. In general I'm not a big fan of remixes, but I must admit most DM remixes are great. :) e.g. Painkiller (Kill the Pain Mix - DJ Shadow vs Depeche Mode), Dream On (Dave Clarke Acoustic Version), Halo (Goldfrapp Remix), Route 66 (Beatmasters Mix), Everything Counts (Absolut Mix), Useless (The Kruder + Dorfmeister Session),...
  23. Some "Best of 00-10" ratings so far: Drowned in Sound: 9/10 Allmusic: 4/5 (also AMG album pick) Contact Music: 9/10 MusicOMH: 4/5 The Independent: positive BBC music: positive The Onion: 4/5 This Is Fake DIY: 8/10 Blurt: 9/10 The Owl Mag: positive Read all reviews (plus links to original sites) here.

Depeche Mode is my favorite band ever. I prefer the period 86-97 when they released their best work.

Orbital's best song ever is definitely Halcyon + On + On: foMca6BoPhw Belfast, The Box, Lush 3-1, Out There Somewhere Pt. 1+2, One Perfect Sunrise, Are We Here?, Way Out are also brilliant.
