I like her later albums more (from Hounds of Love to Aerial) Babooshka is a quite strange song (esp. the funny chorus :D ), definitelly not her best... I agree with Radiohead Spiritualized is a quite obscure band to me ;) I hope they will not be GNR part 2 :D I know only Screamadelica (gorgeous album) but I heard good things about XTRMNTR and Vanishing Point...

Now if we're talking about Portishead & Massive Attack on a Goldfrapp thread, :P I want t say something: Massive Attack will come to my country on 2 August! :yahoo: (The opening act is Martina Topley-Bird. She also featured on Tricky's albums, esp. Maxinquaye) tbh I should listen to Third more (I'm slightly biased since I listened to Mezzanine more than any Portishead album). Also I think it's a huge bonus to find two fantastic voices (Beth Gibbons & Liz Fraser) on such amazing albums! What other bands/artists are at the same level as MA / P?

That album is Mezzanine... B) Better than anything Portishead did (their albums are amazing too) IMO Of course you can have your own opinion They should come with something at least good as Loveless. Also their sound is very 90s... (I don't know how successful they can be 17 years since Loveless) Who knows, maybe this album will be the album of the year

boring? :blink: how can her music be boring when her songs are so diverse? there's a bit of everything on Jem's debut album (a bit of rock, folk, trip hop, reggae, sampled classical instruments) if you consider that boring it's your problem... come on! never heard the 60s movie Barbarella (with Jane Fonda)? both videos took the idea from the opening sequence of this movie "They" music video is FAR superior to Kylie's video (very cheesy). "They" is a top class video, very well produced. BTW there are two versions of "They" video...

24 should have been a single... Too bad she (her management?) decided to promote "24" on the trailer of Ultraviolet movie instead of releasing as a single (with a music video)

Big Ladytron fan here! B) I like all their albums but my absolute fave is Witching Hour. Favorite songs? Discotraxx, Playgirl, Commodore Rock, Paco, Seventeen, Evil, Blue Jeans, Turn It On, Re:Agents, Sugar, Destroy Everything You Touch, International Dateline, Beauty * 2, All the Way, Ghosts, Burning Up, Versus, Tomorrow, I'm Not Scared, Kletva and so on. In fact every Ladytron song is interesting and very very well crafted. With three singers in the band (Helen, Mira and rarely Daniel) you can't be bored by their songs. I love the angelic voice of Helen! They are Kraftwerk with soul :P Velocifero seems to be the "light side" of Witching Hour. I think it's their second best (after WH of course). They avoid to use samples and other pre-recorded sounds and play everything live (with some old analogue synths) That means quite harsh live sound and quite different from the slick versions from their albums. And the singers are also keyboard players (at the same time). Quite difficult IMO.
