    good one!
  8. Jem is brilliant, I really like her music. I have big expectations from her second abum "Down to Earth" Maybe 2 or 3 songs are Pop (Just a Ride, Wish I) but the rest are rock (24, Falling For You), reggae ("Save Me"), trip hop/electronica (They, Easy Way Out, Come on Closer) or folk (Flying High) even a classical piece of music ("They" has a sample from Bach) She has an eclectic mix of (almost) all musical genres PS 1. I wonder why she (or her record label?) "forgot" to release "24" (her best song IMO) as a single... 2. Her real birthday is 18 May 1976 (May not June, like on IMDb)
  9. no. some of critics likes her debut "The Kick Inside" more (or "The Sensual World") Kate has a quite big back catalogue and it's quite hard to pick the best one since all of them are great (more or less). PS I'm not an expert of her music since I started listening to her music 6 months ago...
  10. Lamb is a very good & intelligent band. Of course their most distinctive element is the unique voice of Lou... I know only their first two albums (Lamb, Fear of Fours) and some other singles My fave songs are Wonder, Gabriel, Gorecki, B-Line, Cotton Wool, God Bless, Fly and Alien Gorecki is a masterpiece: o13ULZlBNIU
  11. "Ray of Light" (produced by William Orbit, electronic music wizard) it's her best album Her latest album is far from "Ray of Light" and sounds like "Confessions..." reloaded Nothing Fails was written by Jem and Guy Sigsworth... :P Madonna is a genius at "picking" the right people for her albums (producers, songwriters)
  12. Alison is possibly the best female artist of the last decade...
  13. Orbital - In Sides http://img57.imageshack.us/img57/4851/r871003fl7.jpg Fantastic album from start to finish!
  14. My list of geniuses female artists: Beth Orton Alison Goldfrapp Elizabeth Fraser Kate Bush Siouxsie Sioux Lisa Gerrard Bjork Toni Halliday Tori Amos Joni Mitchell PJ Harvey ...and Shirley Manson
  15. I consider "Hounds of Love" her best album Of course all her albums are great

Chatelaine is the new solo project of Toni Halliday of Curve All I can say is: don't expect another Curve-style music It's different and more relaxing Anyway I'm glad to her beautiful voice again You can listen to some of her songs from her myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/chatelainemusic Her current look: http://img515.imageshack.us/img515/6255/thrm4.jpg

  20. nice interview, thanks! Alison has a lot of attitude as usual (and she's not afraid to use the f word)
  21. Shirley's first pic on Terminator http://img357.imageshack.us/img357/9402/tsccsmlgpp1.jpg
  22. Yesterday it was a great day for me: I've seen Goldfrapp live in my city for the first time!! The show was fabulous! Alison wore a cute pink dress and looked fantastic (very sexy)! I was very close to the stage (around 10m from her); I think she saw me. The crowd was great and the sound was clean and loud. They played songs like: "Paper Bag", "Satin Chic", "Strict Machine", "A&E", "Road to Somewhere", "Happiness", "Caravan Girl", "Ooh La La", "Utopia", "You Never Know", "Number 1", "Cologne Cerrone Houdini", "Clowns", "Little Bird" and others Goldfrapp are one of the best live bands ever! :cheer: http://i124.photobucket.com/albums/p4/ToDenyASound/gold.png © Bjorker
  23. Beautifulgarbage was indeed too poppy but you can find some great songs like Parade, Cherry Lips, Cup of Coffee or Shut Your Mouth (Parade esp. reminds me their first two albums). BG seems to be like a solo album of Shirley, not the result of the whole band. They took the risk to made something too different and to release it right on that sad week of 9/11... That was a shock to critics (maybe they expected Version 3.0 :D ) Both albums are perfect! Same here! She's amazing and special ^_^ There aren't many singers like her (only PJ Harvey, Siouxsie Sioux, Karen O and Chrissie Hynde are close). If Warner expect another Gwen-like pop from Shirley, they would better leave the music industry and leave us alone true! what they did with her album is called censorship
  24. @Grim: I never thought you like Garbage so much! :) I agree with fact their first two albums were also their best Garbage are at their best when they're dark and "noir"
