  1. Pat Benatar….Love is a Battlefield…..Energetic singer from across the pond, I liked a few of her songs, but this one stands out for me. I like this song too Laura Branigan….Self Control….Love this song from ‘84, great video a little risqué at the time, shame she died in 2004 aged only 47. this is the only song of her that I know... pretty good Kate Bush…..Cloudbursting…..Lots I could have went for, but this one just beats Hounds of love and Running up that hill Great song I like Running Up That Hill too Belinda Carlisle….Heaven is a place on earth….Former lead singer with all girl group the Go Go’s. quite overplayed song but still good Tracy Chapman…Fast Car…Her only big hit but sounded good in the late 80’s when there was so much c**p around not my cup of coffee Hazel Dean…..Searchin….Very energetic singer, one of these songs that can get stuck in your head never heard of her Annie Lennox…..Love is a stranger…………….Went for this one as it shows off her vocal talents Fantastic voice! Her first 2 solo albums were great too Madonna…..Papa don’t preach…….I’m not a huge Madonna fan, but I can’t leave her of this list for her contribution to music in the ‘80’s. yeah Madonna, the material girl... classic song, I like it her best album is definitelly Ray of Light (but this is from the 90s) Alison Moyet…Is this love…………She is so underated, what a voice just love her singing, so many tracks I could have chosen I don't know this song Sade….Your love is king…………Her first single, and to be honest the only one I liked Sade has a lot of nice songs IMO Lisa Stansfield….All around the world…….an R & B singer from Rochdale, well yes according to the Americans, late ‘89 so she just sneaks in, great voice I almost forgot about this track ^_^ Suzanne Vega……Luka…………..I like a lot of her stuff, but wen’t for this song about child abuse, so sad sad song indeed actually almost all her songs are quite nostalgic anyway she's one of my all time fave singers check also her latest album Beauty & Crime released in 2007: it's amazing! Kim Wilde….Kids in America……….Her first song and easily her best, an anthem for the early 80’s It's one of the most known songs of the 80s...

  22. Excellent selection! I know almost all songs from this list (except 2 songs) One little change: Strict Machine by Goldfrapp is better than Train by the same band IMO PS anyone here heard about Toxygene by The Orb (basically a remix of Oxygene 8 by Jean Michel Jarre)?
