You took the words right out of my mouth :D
  6. Sorry if you feel offended by my comments They have some melodic elements but all those noises ruin the songs. Sorry, I prefer Underworld. And Orbital (if they will ever return). The worst lyric ever? Who knows... Too bad for Rhythm Is a Dancer, a good song after all On the other side The Power has some interesting lyrics too: Your voice will sink so please stay off my back Or I will attack and you don't want that
  7. Sorry I don't live in UK... Yeah, the facts... Just numbers. The reality: Ask anyone on the street to three songs of Basement Jaxx and three songs of Chemicals from the last 10 years and you'll be surprised. I bet there are higher chance to hear about Galvanise or Hey Boy Hey Girl or Star Guitar than any Basement Jaxx from their entire back catalogue. Chemical Brothers are better than Basement Jaxx in any way (at least musically BY FAR). I tried to listen to Red Alert (song posted by you): random noises and a generic beat Strange fact: about two months ago I saw a video of Basement Jaxx (something like "Romeo and...") It was really awful and random. Don't worry about my music taste I know more than you think Of course Chemicals' best albums are their first two but still you can find a lot of great songs on their newer albums You can't expect anyone to know every dance track (even some obscure songs) Anyway from your list I'm surprised to find Way Out West A week ago I discovered a great song by WOW, Intensify apo_XKVsPks
  8. Trust me I listened to all Underworld albums (my fave is the live album Everything, Everything; I own the DVD too) Instead of Born Slippy could be any other Underworld single (like Juanita/Kiteless, Rez, Cowgirl, Crocodile, Push Upstairs, Moaner, Two Months Off, Pearls Girl and so on). I picked their most known track (esp. the live version with its incredible final). No reason to be shocked :P Too bad it's overlooked Watch this video (you'll recognize some Michael Jackson or Jamiroquai dance moves; some Daft Punk - Around the World too): TOHWssbO8tU
  9. of course I mean Duffy the Welsh singer :P

  13. Best dance (post disco) album? It could be this one: 1. Underworld - Born Slippy .NUXX 2. Paul van Dyk - For An Angel 3. Orbital - Halcyon + On + On 4. Fatboy Slim - Praise You 5. Groove Armada - If Everybody Look the Same 6. Leftfield & John Lydon - Open Up 7. The Chemical Brothers - Block Rockin' Beats 8. Prodigy - Voodoo People 9. The KLF - 3am Eternal 10. Playgroup - Number One 11. Faithless - Insomnia 12. Daft Punk - One More Time Bonus track: 13. Snap! - The Power I'd buy this album with the speed of light Worth to mention: The Shamen, E-Type, Sophie Ellis-Bextor, Scooter, Jam & Spoon, 808 State, Futureshock, Haddaway, C-Block PS I'm quite surprised to find here so many unknown (to me) artists listed as "best of dance"... Also:  What about: The Chemical Brothers, Groove Armada or Orbital?! Basement are quite unknown (possible reasons: weird cover arts, weird music videos and so on). What TV station would broadcast an awful video like this one? The most succesful Dance duo (not only Britain) of the last decade was THE CHEMICAL BROTHERS Even my grandma heard about them :D

What's wrong with dance music? I think 70% (more or less) of dance music is cheesy and generic. A monotonous drum beat, some cheap synths and (sometimes) a bland voice and that's all. No soul, no emotion, nothing. Not counting the current trend of so-called dance music: take old hits (from 70s, 80s) and remix them (usually with a faster beats). Awful. But the rest of 30% is amazing. They are: Faithless Orbital Underworld Leftfield The KLF Depeche Mode Sash! Snap! Ladytron Goldfrapp New Order 808 State Daft Punk Art of Noise ATB Paul van Dyk Paul Oakenfold Saint Etienne Fatboy Slim Futureshock Playgroup Jamiroquai Armin van Buuren Primal Scream (some of their songs) The Orb The Shamen ...and many more
