  1. I thought this thread was supposed to be strictly to discuss the single?
  2. You’re right and I deleted my post because I didn’t think is was really fair to say what you can or can not understand. But I stand by the point that you have been trying to brush it under the rug for as long as the Jesy threads have been open. Admitting she’s wrong but also urging people to stop talking about it so you can enjoy the music is still brushing it off. And repeatedly trying to spread blame to Leigh Anne when we know that Leigh Anne brought the issue to Jesys attention and she ignored it, is brushing off Jesy’s responsibility in this whole mess.
  3. Jesy couldn’t open her mouth once to defend Leigh during that live but your first thought is that she asked Nicki to change her caption within minutes of it being posted? Seems unlikely.
  4. Jesy is a grown woman. If she had any problem with what Nicki was saying, she could say something about it or get off the live. She clearly didn’t and so whether she was laughing at what Nicki was saying or her accents it doesn’t matter. She also confirmed that Leigh Anne messaged her about this after the Sweet Melody video so the whole idea that this was brand new when the interviewer asked her about it is bogus which leads me to believe a lot of her narrative is made up to serve her well.
  5. I’m still bopping to this. It stinks that it flopped, but it will slot in nicely on their Greatest Hits for me.
  6. Really? I feel like Heartbreak Anthem climbed really quickly but had Olivia’s album stopping it from that higher peak. Regardless, I think this was always going to do well upon debut in the UK. They seem to be hoping for US appeal, but it’s nowhere on Apple Music here and doesn’t have good Spotify support so it’ll be interesting to see where it debuts there tomorrow. It takes much more than iTunes to get onto the Hot 100.
  7. The chorus is catchy. The verses are lyrically cringe and the high pitched baby voice she’s singing in is unpleasant. Having Diddy mention Little Mix in the video was a dumb move that’s only gonna get her dragged, but I guess all press is good press.
  8. Oversaturation is a thing and has definitely played a part but I also feel like if they had released this the week of the anniversary we wouldn’t be having this discussion because it wouldn’t have performed this poorly to start off without the the huge releases in the past two weeks. Without Drakes album, the song debuts in the Spotify top 50 and probably doesn’t fall as far the second day because of the Top 50 boost.
  9. It actually had a better second day on Youtube in the UK than the first day. Obviously the first day was missing hours but most of those hours would be when people were asleep on the second day anyway. I think if they can get it on the right HHUK and Today’s Hits on Apple, it can be a nice hit for them but it definitely got lost in the shuffle on a busy release week.
  10. Jesy must be a fortune teller then, because she “jumped ship” before the girls even knew they were pregnant.
  11. They did not get added to Hot Hits UK. I truly don’t understand how Spotify makes their decisions. Little Mix have proven to be consistent hit makers in the UK for 10 years and they always end up adding the song eventually anyway. They’ve earned to the right to be automatically added on every single release .
  12. Did HHUK update or are they waiting for Drake?
  13. I don’t think the sound of the song will effect it’s hit potential any more than their past singles. If it gets good playlisting and radio support, I think it will be at least a moderate sized hit. It’s 3 on NMF New Zealand/AUS which is higher than they’ve been in a while. Hopefully that means good things for the UK placements as well.
  14. The more I listen the more I love it. Jades prechorus in particular is a moment and the bridge is incredible.
  15. I’m loving this. I’ve enjoyed all their singles into the recent years but I think it’s definitely better than any of the collabs and would probably rank it above Holiday and Confetti as well.
  16. It seems like they would’ve known their due dates and the single were close the whole time and if that really is the reason for switching, than I don’t know why they didn’t think of that ages ago. I guess we’ll see if anything happens in the coming weeks. It’s kind of funny if they had something to do with Jesy moving her date and now they don’t even release anything.
  17. Why would they make a decision last week to move up the single and make a decision now to not only push it back but change the single entirely? Weren’t we hearing they’d already filmed a video?
  18. I don’t know. I was gonna say maybe Freak because that’s one of the ones she wrote by herself but I don’t actually remember her talking about it that much. Probably How Ya Doin with Missy Elliot since that’s not on the individual vinyls.
  19. Context matters in this thread too, because no one was actually attacking Jesy or calling her homophobic. All that was said was it was a bit tone deaf and that maybe she should work on how she says things because what she did say can be easily misconstrued. And my comment about jumping to the defensive was specifically aimed at the poster who has actively been trying to shut down any critique of Jesy (including the valid blackfishing comments). Of course, we can have discussions and engage in conversations about these things and not everyone’s going to feel the same way. But I i feel that comments like yours, actually explaining how you felt about what she said, are more helpful to those conversations than comments that just deflect to shut down any discussion that could be considered negative.
  20. And some people will jump to defend her for everything.
  21. To pretend that she didn’t know before now anyway is a joke. She was blocking people who said it to her, she only acknowledged it because he brought it up and seeing as this interview was several weeks ago (before her video shoot where she’s doing the same thing) she hasn’t given it a second thought. But in regards to the Little Mix stuff I thought she presented herself well. I never doubted why she left but it’s nice to hear it in more detail from her own mouth. It’s interesting she cites the switch to RCA as being when she started hating songs they were sent when she notoriously hates Black Magic and I’d imagine that the scrapped third album was much more in line with music she prefers. The end where she says she wishes she liked women is a bit iffy as well though. She could probably do with some media training.
  22. So her teams not pushing for a VMA performance then? You can’t perform a song that’s not been released yet. Maybe they were pushing for it before the decision to move it back?
  23. Leigh Anne said her and Perries due dates are close together so it’s not unreasonable she’s be in labor. Either way, hopefully Perrie, Alex and baby are all safe and healthy and we’ll know when they tell us.
  24. I understand how people might hear about it later on and not realize it’s a greatest hits but to anyone following the news today and looking to preorder the album the day it’s announced it should be obvious. How are people already complaining?
  25. But the Ireland and UK charts are compiled by the same people are they not? I understand if they can’t supply data internationally, but are we sure they can’t send the UK info?
