LM5 • 5th Studio Album
Joan of Arc would be a terrible single choice. Most people would hear those first two lines and cringe so hard they’d have to change the station.

LM5 • 5th Studio Album
They should’ve pushed it weeks ago but since they didn’t I think it’s the right choice to wait. Especially if they do intend to release a remix, it would get lost among all the Christmas songs next week and then all the biggest hits of the past year the next. Release the remix early January with the video ready to go and do some promo.

Strip wasn’t even a real single. To call it the ‘death of their career’ when the only people who even heard it were mostly just the fans who bought the album is such an overreaction it’s laughable. If Little Mix’s career is over because of their sales than I guess every single active pop act besides Ariana is done for sure.

LM5 • 5th Studio Album
I think y'all are putting too much weigh on Little Mix and not enough on the overall album market right now. I mean, they're one of the contemporary pop acts in the top 20, including those acts who released their albums after LM5. If you look at the chart right now its clear that the age group that are buying Little Mix albums are not the majority. Plus, they didn't but out a clean version of the album at all, which to me sends a message that they knew they'd lose a lot of their audience and don't seem to care. Do I think that the album could be doing better despite that and probably would've done better if they'd stuck to pure pop? Probably. But personally, I think this is their best album by far. So I'll take the album that's solid from start to finish over the past two albums which were hugely successful but were mostly a handful of singles and then 75% filler. Plus, I think its clear that the girls themselves prefer this sound. They tried it earlier on with Salute and then the label made them go pop. Now they're tired of that and are trying some different influences again. I'm not gonna force them back into that corner because the album "underperformed". As long as they continue to have singles success, I don't think this albums chart run will be relevant. The album is dying. Their continued growth on streaming services is what I'm more interested in, in terms of connecting to their primary market and also touring. Their doing fine in both of those areas which is what an act truly needs to survive in the pop industry these days.

LM5 • 5th Studio Album
I don’t mind that they’re ignoring they’re ignoring the US but I’m not sure it’s a conscious choice seeing as how they’re pretty much ignoring every single country that isn’t the UK.

Which would you have preferred for single 2?
Strip had a music video and was on New Music Friday. You can’t really compare it to Think About Us which had neither of those things. The Cure was also more heavily playlisted as it was released as a grat track earlier in the week.

LM5 • 5th Studio Album
One of the most obvious problems is the lack of a clean version but if that was an intentional choice to get rid of their younger fans then I disagree but what can we do.

LM5 • 5th Studio Album
Yesterday they were down by 5k and he said t was too close to call. Today he said they’ll be #3 so I’m assuming the gap is larger than 5k now.

Strip • Promo Single
I’m waiting for either an official announcement, a radio push or an X Factor finale performance before I would rule this an official single. They did call it the second single during WLM promo but right now it just seems like “Youtube paid us to make - music video to promote their streaming program” and they chose Strip because of the message.
-
LM5 • 5th Studio Album
Yeah, with only a 5k difference it’ll all depend on who was the least front loaded. Hopefully the promo tonight can push them up on iTunes and they’re leading the race on all major streaming services (Spotify, Apple Music and Youtube). It’s not out of the picture just yet.

Spotify Chart Thread 2018 [VI - November]
The Glory Days track that was on New Music Friday (Oops) debuted at 56 on Spotify. Strip debuted at 22. Also last album only two songs were in the top 100 and this album has 8. I’d say that shows a healthy increase in their streaming presence so I’m happy.

Strip • Promo Single
If Strip does well they’ll probably go with Wasabi as they’re both out there. If Strip flops they’ll probably go with Think About Us because it’s a basic bop (a great one but still basic and harmless)

Album Chart battle November 16th
I don’t think Ariana is releasing on Friday. She was in the studio again like two days ago with Max Martin and co. Obviously anything could happen but I think it’ll just be Buble v Little Mix v Mumford. I expect Bublé to take it but think LM could outdo Mumford.

83. Little Mix - The Cure

Strip • Promo Single
I absolutely love this even in its questionable stripped back version so I know the album version is gonna be one of my favorites.

LM5 • 5th Studio Album
The Cure is by far my favorite of the 4 songs released. Its incredible and is going to be an amazing album closer

Woman Like Me (feat. Nicki Minaj) • Lead Single
I don't know what the question marks are for because nothing I said goes against any of this. I agreed that the label made them record it when they didn't want to, but that doesn't mean that they hate the song and think its trash.

Woman Like Me (feat. Nicki Minaj) • Lead Single
You weren’t right about everything though you’re just ignoring the bits that don’t fit your story and guessing in other places because you have some burning hatred for Nicki. I don’t like her that much either but there’s video evidence of the girls saying that Nicki is their top choice of collab for the past 7 years. Do you think they photoshopped that group message that said they wanted Nicki on the track? Why would they make sure to point out the date if they were lying about Nicki being asked first? Knowing full well that Cardis not afraid to post receipts and if she’s been approached before the 24th of July she would call them out on it. Anyway, the girls didn’t like the idea of the label shoehorning a song written for another artist onto an album they’d worked really hard on. After the changed some of the lyrics to make it more personal to them and added their dream collaboration to it, they went along with it and it’s a bop that’s gonna be a nice hit for them despite people claiming it was a flop out of the gate and that’s all that matters to me!

Woman Like Me (feat. Nicki Minaj) • Lead Single
The girls have already clarified via their messages that they wanted Nicki Minaj or else they weren’t doing it (along with changing some of the lyrics). And i’d say you didn’t really win cause the songs looks to be pretty successful which means that the girls will continue to perform it and you’ll have to hear it more and more.

LM5 • 5th Studio Album
I feel like the Apple Music event was booked with the idea that it will spread around the internet and get more people interested in them as a whole. Not necessarily for album sales but more for casual streams that could turn into fans. So I’m glad they’re doing it but it does seem like it’s taken up a lot of their time that they could’ve been spending on Graham Norton or Jonathan Ross or some other televised promotion.

LM5 • 5th Studio Album
Yeah I wanted to be optimistic but it’s becoming pretty obvious they aren’t gonna get the #1 off the bat. Maybe they could climb there later but regardless, as long as the album performs well I’m not too fussed over the peak. I’m mostly annoyed that people will clearly take this as an reason to claim that they’re “over” especially since the lead missed #1 as well. I’m interested to see how they’ll perform on Spotify. If I remember correctly, all the Glory Days track entered the Top 200 that first day. I’d love if they could replicate that feat this time around.
-
LM5 • 5th Studio Album
Im not totally disagreeing that there’s less hype from the public than previously but the first grat track from this album (Joan of Arc) charted at the exact same place as the first grat track from Glory Days (You Gotta Not).
-
LM5 • 5th Studio Album
But they are showing at 132 in the US which I’d imagine has a much higher threshold and also much less people streaming Little Mix music.
-
Woman Like Me (feat. Nicki Minaj) • Lead Single
Kind of wish the NOW album was coming out on the 16th as well to give the best shot at #1 but oh well. Even if it never goes #1 I think the promos spread out well to guarantee a good run.

Y’all do too much. Liam is a great vocalist even if you don’t like his music and he sells the song and the performance. I like Lennon but she wandered around on stage like a deer in headlights. If she sang/performed the song on her own, it wouldn’t have had the effect that it has had.
