Susanne Sundfรธr 'Ten Love Songs'
YES! It's fantastic. As is "Music For People In Trouble". I still give both spot plays regularly. Cannot wait for a new album. She's just released a soundtrack EP actually, called "Self Portrait Original Soundtrack - EP".

The 1975 - Notes on a Conditional Form
Absolutely each to their own, but I think you'll struggle to find many who'll agree with you on that one! My order for first 3 singles: 1. "Give Yourself A Try"/"Love It If We Made It"/"TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME" 2. "Love Me"/"UGH!"/"Somebody Else" 3. "Chocolate"/"The City"/"Sex" 4. "People"/"Frail State Of Mind"/"Me & You Together Song" Thought "The Sound" was in the first 3 of album 2, though depends what we qualify as a 'single' really. New album leads by far the weakest here.

The 1975 - Notes on a Conditional Form
From what they've released so far, I don't think so lol Still plenty of tracks to come though. Can always just skip the poorer ones. Or maybe they'll sound better in context. That does happen.

22 tracks? Focus on quality, not quantity, guys! :/

Bombay Bicycle Club - Everything Else Has Gone Wrong
2 listens now, good album, can see myself listening to this a fair amount.

Celeste - Not Your Muse
Do we think "Strange" could hit number 1 if performed at the BRITS? Been listening to "Compilation 1.1" this week a lot with "Stop The Flame" tacked on the end. A really good collection and really liking the new single too!

The 1975 - Notes on a Conditional Form
Another wishy-washy track on first listen, this is the least excited I've been for a 1975 album since before I knew they existed :(

US Hot 100 โ 1/18/2020
Thanks B, that makes sense. I still don't really think there's an accurate way of doing these things to get something particularly meaningful but still interesting what the output is. I mean, I wish you'd read the article...

Hey Dan, what're these new rules? :o Cheers

Friday Chart Predictions
Dance music, the Westlife of the 2020s! In all seriousness though the majority of songs in the chart are pretty trashy these days.
-
Celeste - Not Your Muse
She's won BBC Sound of 2020! I wonder if she'll perform 'Strange' at the BRITS. Could be her 'Someone Like You' moment.

Friday Chart Predictions
You can both subjectively and objectively compare two things by rating them out of 10 on their merits and then comparing that score.

BBC Sound of 2020
Now Yungblud has been knocked out I'm expecting a Celeste victory with Georgia second. Quite like some of the songs by this year's list. Of the top 5 "Ice Cream Sundae" by Inhaler isn't bad and liking Joy Crookes "Hurts". Yungblud is a bit too 'youth culture' for me now :P

Kosheen - Resist
I absolutely LOVED "Hungry" at the time. Sian Evans has a great vocal, good for her that she ended up featuring on a number 1 hit a decade down the line.

Brittany Howard - Jaime
It's definitely something that you MUST listen to if you haven't yet. Certainly the best track I hadn't heard before 2020 so far this year. I had a very delayed introduction to Alabama Shakes and was simply wondering, surely a third album is on the way, which led me to discovering she'd gone solo for an album released only a few months ago, leading to this track :D

Celeste - Not Your Muse
[surprised not to see a thread for this yet; also went with the 'Pop' label given to her music on Apple music in terms of which forum to post it in...] Celeste has been chosen as the BRIT Awards 'Rising Star' for 2020 and was also BBC Introducing Artist of the Year 2019. She has also been nominated for BBC's Sound Of 2020 accolade, which she has every chance of winning. There will be Adele comparisons. I suppose Jorja Smith wouldn't be a wrong comparison either. Perhaps she lies somewhere between the two. Also reminds me of when Corinne Bailey Rae burst onto the scene, but Celeste's music is more sultry. The current single "Strange" is absolutely stunning. Been loving it for a while now since first hearing it on Phil Taggart's Chillest Show on Radio 1. A1AJEv50Ld4 MrUPfAbMFio

Brittany Howard - Jaime
Surprised not to see anything about this album on here! I need to give it a listen but discovered one of the singles, "Stay High", yesterday and it is INCREDIBLE! I need to check out more Alabama Shakes too. Brittany has gone solo for this project. CfizQsGWOxI Album "Jaime" is named after her late sister. Track listing: 1. "History Repeats" 2. "He Loves Me" 3. "Georgia" 4. "Stay High" 5. "Tomorrow" 6. "Short and Sweet" 7. "13th Century Metal" 8. "Baby" 9. "Goat Head" 10. "Presence" 11. "Run to Me" Have also given "History Repeats" and "He Loves Me" a listen and they're good too.

CamelPhat - Dark Matter
Oh wow fab! Both have had 2 number 1s on my chart this year; saw CamelPhat live in August and will be seeing Foals live next July :D

Speculating new rules. My guess: anything 3+ years old will be excluded entirely rather than put on permanent ACR. They will then create a separate 'retro' chart containing all of these excluded songs. So we'll see "Mr Brightside" number 1 for a lot of the year, before Christmas kicks in, and repeat :P

And to think The Modern "Industry" (I think it was) was disqualified from the chart in 2004 because the CD ran over the allotted time limit by SECONDS! They're a lot looser these days, the OCC!

"Step Into Christmas" is really poor, don't get how it has become a yearly Christmas staple. Also learned this month that Queen have "Thank God It's Christmas" which is fantastic yet I've never noticed it get anywhere on an annual basis! So Elton's success can't just be down to having a 'legendary name'.

Massively intrigued about the power of Alexa today! Has LadBaby fallen out of the top 40 from 1 or have I missed it? Surely it can't still be to come? Hoping Mariah has done it for the 25th anniversary.

๐ Friday Chart Predictions ๐
I've certainly heard "Underneath The Christmas Lights" used for an advert for a TV show this Christmas; last week "Ho Ho Ho" was the first dance at a wedding (also my favourite of her Christmas songs too and up there with my favourite modern Christmas songs!) and my other half is obsessively loving "Puppies Are Forever" this Christmas  a real mixed bag!

๐ Friday Chart Predictions ๐
I still think it's bizarre that "Santa's Coming For Us" is the song they led with and is most known with her Christmas project! A fair few better tracks on there.
