  1. I don't get the Denmark comparison at all; good entry anyway - hopefully another final for them!

Surprised at all of the dislike for this song given the usual. It's a nice little pop song, nothing outstanding but still real pop. It sounds as different to "Sweet But Psycho" as "Poker Face" did to "Just Dance" as well... (not massively, but she's clearly trying to imprint that sound, rather than follow trends, which incidentally goes with the lyrics).
  3. Oh, love this! This could win too!
  4. This is so necessary
  5. I mean, it’s Fuego, but I can see this winning the contest
  6. When was the last time the Swiss had an internal selection? Their neighbours Austria have done very well with theirs in recent years.
  7. It’s an amazing song and the signature song from the movie, given that we’ve had the Oscars etc it makes sense that it’s been the one in the spotlight. There’s lots of scope to start pushing other songs from the soundtrack now such as ARUTW, INLA or Heal Me if she wants to go for a different sound. That’s if they want/need to.
  8. That’s being very kind! Also "Be Faithful" is aces
  9. Glad Shallow has made it! Returning to the top in Australia as well. In my personal chart coincidentally it has reclimbed to a new peak of number 2 since I finally saw the movie at the end of January, looking likely to hit number 1 on Friday, it feels in place with charts around the world now
  10. Yes I thought it was a 1996 number 1 with the album out in 1997??
  11. It’s like Qami but much less memorable
  12. It probably did trickle a lot in the era when downloads took off
  13. I remember Out Of Space was very popular in the clubs when I was first at uni, in the years following their Greatest Hits release. The Pendulum remix of Voodoo People as well. Perhaps the renewed interest in it carried on through the generations and helped its streaming tally?
  14. Maria Haukaas Storeng does not belong with the others around it! "O Jardim" is also beautiful, though not quite sure where I'd place it among the 726 songs myself...! "Ding Dong", whilst generic and uninspired, deserved to make the final in the weakest contest of the decade. Some questionable finalists to say the least.
  15. Atrocious
  16. It sounded like a weak attempt to recreate Body to me
  17. Probably wouldn’t have revisited this album if it wasn’t for the tragic news. Sounds much better a few months on, having familiarised myself with some of the tracks in their own right. "We Live Forever" has stood out in particular today - hadn’t realised it was the new single either. Haunting.

Her best since "Love Me Like You Do", for sure. Much more what I personally want from Ellie.
  19. This has grown massively with a few listens. Much prefer it to last year! It just pales compared to the glorious "City Lights".
  20. Technically it's a 50% lead as he's half extra ahead of Lewis - though he has got that extra version. I hope Cal'n'Bone Man Harris does make it to the top this week! When was the last time we had back-to-back Scottish number 1s?
  21. Assuming the final one through is "Mr Unicorn" I definitely think "Spirit In The Sky" should win... I've still got it in my head tbh
