  1. This is song of the year material, seriously. What a great piece of work.

Oh good! It entered my chart on Friday just gone so good timing. Stunning song. Must give the album more listens.

The bassline is so infectious! I felt so alone in the chart thread every week lol

Some epic classics down the year and they start disc 1 track 1 with THAT :manson: Interesting how they went for Toca Me over Toca's Miracle which I think is still not available to stream! Groovejet isn’t either - will this album be available to stream despite its £45 purchase tag??
  5. Hmmm, well the first 3 singles were melodic but much more in place with dance music at the time! It’s a bit like how Sigala started off dance and has gotten more and more poppy, for the worse. [/snakeHat]
  6. Wow! This is incredible! That bassline is SO sinister. This is a perfect example of making retro sound fresh again. Very early 90s. Considering I'm hard to please on first listen these days, I'm very impressed!
  7. Hopefully we will get to hear a Bastille only version, a version they’d play live, though I doubt it.
  8. So Jonas Blue really is a pop act now then. Sigh!
  9. Tbf it makes sense given all of these random releases! That makes it all feel a bit less random now thankfully! It was harder to connect with these one off releases.
  10. I was going to say this too, and I guess that’s exactly why they’re doing it as a bonus disc to this album. Makes sense to me tbh
  11. Who's Mum... yours? :P
  12. lol, well colour me surprised! Had him down as more of a Mum's favourite tbh.
  13. Quite like this - but choosing to go with the original with iLoveMakonnen instead - called "Sunlight On Your Skin".
  14. Olly Murs in 2018? I doubt it  even in 2010 it wasn't really a teen focus!
  15. I can’t see it happening!
  16. My top & bottoms leading the respective votes! They're ALL great tracks though, I love most of them and like all of them. "How Deep Is Your Love" is possibly Calvin's very best single, it was the "Love The Way You Lie" or "Moves Like Jagger" of 2015 by stalling behind many inferior tracks that were released after a few weeks of build up hype. I voted "We'll Be Coming Back" as my least favourite of the lot, simply because anything Example has dated really badly. There's just something about him I now find really corny and cringe. Seeing him on panel shows really put me off him before the cheese factor hit as well. I do actually really quite like the song, even still, though.
  17. LOVING "Heater" right now. Also enjoying "Retreat2018" but not quite on the same level. It has been a while since I felt so strongly about a C&S track, as much as I quite enjoyed some of the tracks from "Tribe".

Agreed on both accounts! It’s an animal of a pop song. Nothing like anything else he’s released. If Sia was on vocals (it’s not dissimilar to Cheap Thrills) I think it’d get a much warmer reception here.

The S Club Juniors of hip-hop?
  20. I’m really loving this song now. Prefer it to "One Kiss".

I'm in this boat too, and I was pretty much bumming Robyn from "With Every Heartbeat" onwards. I think perhaps as standalone songs there's not too much to stand out about them but as an album it'll all sound coherent and excellent, though, a bit like Christine and the Queens new album.

Lil Baby as a name just makes me laugh! So cringe
  23. On reflection, though I thought "Pretty Shining People" would've been a good late summer follow up to "Shotgun", I think it's too similar to (and too soon after) "Paradise" and that "Hold My Girl" is a more sensible choice.

Yeah that was even worse than "7 Years". I think the problem with them are the ridiculously cliched lyrics, to a level miles worse than The Script ever were with it.
