  1. I made the mistake of giving this a first listen in the background whilst working, and I didn't enjoy it much at all, though appreciated its quality. Given it a 2nd listen today whilst paying proper attention and I got a lot more out of it. It's a good, very interesting piece of work with some very strong lyrics. I think "Heavy Balloon" might be a particular highlight for me, alongside "Under The Table"?
  2. It's worth it for some of the songs you haven't heard tbf, "Selfless" for example, and "Not The Same Anymore". It all gets better with each listen.
  3. Regard joins the pass the vocalist parcel circle then, maybe next it'll be featuring Becky Hill, then perhaps Ella Henderson?
  4. Everything I heard leading up to the album was just not for me whatsoever, but I did listen to the album today after noticing some good reviews, and as a collection it does actually work. I'd listen again. It kind of sounds like it could be the soundtrack to an edgier Lindsay Lohan movie
  5. WHAT! "Hey, Ma" was a 5-week number 1 hit in my chart last year (and is STILL in my playlist), and the album was fantastic. I know I'll be listening to this new one a fair amount in the coming weeks!

As many as that :o I certainly underestimated its selling power in 1 week. Guess they might've done 2-3k on vinyl given the current circumstances.

How many vinyls did the likes of Bombay Bicycle Club, Blossoms, blink-182 etc sell with their recent first weeks? Surely The Strokes won't be selling more than 1k vinyl!?
  9. Grows with each listen, really good album. Really not getting the poor/average reviews at all. Seems the few of us that have given it a go are in agreement as well!

Hoping for The Strokes; 5 songs in the Spotify chart was a promising-ish start but if Dua holds up at around 15k she may take it.
  11. Thanks - interesting (and a shame) that "At The Door" is missing. The album gets better with each listen, fingers crossed for a number 1 for them.
  12. Cool. Good song. Seems to be the new single.
  13. Por favor, what were the 5 songs by The Strokes and which was on NMF?
  14. Same here, was never a fan of either of the aforementioned but this is different :D
  15. I think this could be a potential UK #1
  16. I finally started the vinyl collection I've been intending to start for ages yesterday evening and ordered: Robyn - Honey The xx - I See You Sam Fender - Hypersonic Missiles Damien Rice - My Favourite Faded Fantasy The Lumineers - Cleopatra Jamie xx - In Colour Amazon have some well priced vinyl right now, so thought it was a great time to start! They'll feel like a present each time they arrive.
  17. Fiona Apple - Fetch The Bolt Cutters Album out April 17th
  18. Nice one, they've got vinyls on a lot cheaper - just ordered this one on vinyl along with a few others!
  19. I've only just started hearing "Deathbed" and have already played it a few times, really catchy!
  20. Weird to think it's the same Mabel that released "Finders Keepers"
  21. Late to the Harry Styles talk but "Sign Of The Times" was just so good that I think it'll always be my favourite from him! However I am totally into this era, great album, whereas last era asides from SOTT didn't interest me at all.
  22. Exactly my thinking too
  23. This is a decent album on first listen. Will take more for it to be embedded in my brain but no bad tracks. "At The Door" really is magic.
  24. Half of me enjoys it, the other half of my finds it hella irritating  Every time it comes on I groan, yet I can't help but tap along. It's a weird one. Also thought it was the single when the album came out! :o
