How did "Flowers" sales that week compare with "Fool Again" from the week before (when that was no.1)? That is an excellent top 10. That was a great era for chart music.

Azerbaijan got more 12s really? :o I have this in my memory as a runaway winner, though I did host a big Eurovision party that night, there were a lot of shots, it was a great night, but I guess leading up to the contest, it felt like such an obvious winner I always assumed it blitzed the field. Was expecting this nearer to top 3. Great entry anyway!

Exactly the same here! Incidentally I initially thought "1944" was awful, for some reason. I barely listened to it pre-contest compared to the ones I was into (Australia, Bulgaria, Malta, Russia, et al) which certainly contributed to that, but after it won, I watched it back to try and understand what happened and I really got it. And it has grown in to one of my favourite entries of the decade, I think. That production alone is chilling, but in the performance the part with the tree STILL gives me goosebumps.

^^ really liking that on first listen! Certainly more than "Bad Decisions", not that I dislike that one. "At The Door" still remains 'the one' I think for this era. I did read a 5/10 review of the album but I'm convinced it's gonna be good.

Am I the only one who thought the 2nd series was beyond terrible?! Season 1 was really great, we were so looking forward to season 2 based on the first season, and then it turned out like... THAT. None of the newly introduced main characters were likeable, nor did there seem to be any chemistry between any of them and Joe. Forty in particular was beyond ridiculous and just so, so annoying. Couple that with a poor story line and it was pretty much the complete opposite of season 1. Dare I bother with season 3 when it comes out? :unsure:

I personally think it'll most likely always be "New Rules". "Be The One" remains my favourite :wub:

To answer your Q, it's hard to say, as some contests were close and some weren't. 2015 for instance has 3 in the top 10 and it was very top-heavy on scores, so it's no surprise to see them all in the top 10. Really like "Satellite", that whole top 3 in 2010 was a great start to the decade!

I hadn't even thought twice about the 'firewall' in "X My Heart" :lol: Still, does that really top "tell me where have you been? Why are you late? You smell like lipstick... AGAIN"? :D I am so with you on Hannah Mancini's Slovenian entry too! By the time the contest rolled around I was kind of over it, but when it first came out I had it slated as one of my favourites. Kind of generic yeah but it was very modern and different given Slovenia's previous efforts. (See also: "Igranka" for Montenegro) - the Lithuanian song you mentioned ("Something") I'd totally forgotten about, now I remember it was that extremely dull entry, didn't it make it to the final as well? :mellow:

I literally watched this a couple of weeks ago for the first time since it actually happened! It was as good a race as I remember it being when I was a kid. Anyone got the F1TV subscription? Cost me £14.99 for a year's subscription and you get access to a load of documentaries as well as an archive of races (with at least 12 minute highlights if there isn't a full race). I started at the 1996 Australian GP which was the first race I ever saw and am up to mid 1998 now.

On the contrary, I think the original editions - as the album was intended - are almost always the better versions personally without bonus tracks that were left off!

Also GEEKY note to all: if you're using the Wikipedia lists, make sure you take 6 days off of the date stated as that is the WEEK ENDING DATE from the first week it was at number 1. So if it says 7 Feb then it actually hit number 1 on 1 Feb. If that makes sense...

Was just wondering this myself. On Amazon, the Dua vinyl says delivery "by Monday, 27 Apr" - surely it wouldn't be dispatched this week?
