iTunes Weekly Thread W/C 14th February 2020
I like it but I don't think it'll spend that long at the top to be honest. I don't think it'll fall as fast as Sam Smith's did though.

Sam Fender - Hypersonic Missiles
:o I was only thinking this past week that "Call Me Lover" and maybe even "You're Not The Only One" and "Leave Fast" would've made good singles. I can't keep up with what was released pre-"That Sound" though  "Hold On" is alright, I can see why it was missed off. What a great first era anyway, I'm totally into it now.

The Strokes - The New Abnormal
I keep doing this! Was listening to quite a bit of The Strokes at the tail end of last year and wondered, will they ever release an album again? And hey presto here they are :o Quite liking the new track on first listen, looking forward to the lead single next week :D
-
Christine and the Queens - La vita nuova
On the last listen I realised part of the song was actually in French after all  But it should ALL be! That said it fits the English just as well this time. Songs like "5 Dollars" and "The Walker" lost their charm in English I felt.

Tensnake thread
Like this. Think it goes well with the vibe of "Joys" by Roberto Surace.
-
Gorgon City – Roped In
This is great! Sounds ace back to back with "String Theory" by ABSOLUTE.
-
ABSOLUTE. thread
This is an absolute MONSTER of a track! Great!

Anne-Marie - Birthday
Christ, this is awful, dreading the thought of hearing this at every birthday gathering ever one day. Guess it didn't work for Katy Perry (and hers was better).
-
Christine and the Queens - La vita nuova
Quite liked this on first listen, looking forward to a French version though, as per many of you already. I listened to "Chris" in French whenever I listened to it, so much better for me. Hearing the songs in English on Radio 1 sounded wrong!

Shakira & J Lo Super Bowl LIV Performance.
I literally screamed at how amazing this was last night. I'd had a fair few tequilas and stuff but don't think I've ever done that before  Both were amazing, Shakira was the highlight for me because I literally love her. Need to see her live. Would love it if they toured together.

Blossoms - Foolish Loving Spaces
Yeah I quite enjoyed on first listen, will give it more! "If You Think This Is Real Life" is going to take some getting used to though with that chorus

Dandy's favourites of the 2010s
Some absolutely fantastic records in here and some I don't think I've ever heard! Not many I'd say I don't like. Tempted to turn it into a playlist on Apple Music to see what I've missed out on. Looking forward to seeing the albums.
-
Hayley Williams - Petals For Armor
I really quite like this on first listen actually, if it's a grower then I'll end up loving it. I don't tend to take much notice on first listens so this is promising.
-
Susanne Sundfør 'Ten Love Songs'
YES! It's fantastic. As is "Music For People In Trouble". I still give both spot plays regularly. Cannot wait for a new album. She's just released a soundtrack EP actually, called "Self Portrait Original Soundtrack - EP".

The 1975 - Notes on a Conditional Form
Absolutely each to their own, but I think you'll struggle to find many who'll agree with you on that one! My order for first 3 singles: 1. "Give Yourself A Try"/"Love It If We Made It"/"TOOTIMETOOTIMETOOTIME" 2. "Love Me"/"UGH!"/"Somebody Else" 3. "Chocolate"/"The City"/"Sex" 4. "People"/"Frail State Of Mind"/"Me & You Together Song" Thought "The Sound" was in the first 3 of album 2, though depends what we qualify as a 'single' really. New album leads by far the weakest here.
-
The 1975 - Notes on a Conditional Form
From what they've released so far, I don't think so lol Still plenty of tracks to come though. Can always just skip the poorer ones. Or maybe they'll sound better in context. That does happen.

The 1975 - Notes on a Conditional Form
22 tracks? Focus on quality, not quantity, guys! :/
-
Bombay Bicycle Club - Everything Else Has Gone Wrong
2 listens now, good album, can see myself listening to this a fair amount.
-
Celeste - Not Your Muse
Do we think "Strange" could hit number 1 if performed at the BRITS? Been listening to "Compilation 1.1" this week a lot with "Stop The Flame" tacked on the end. A really good collection and really liking the new single too!

The 1975 - Notes on a Conditional Form
Another wishy-washy track on first listen, this is the least excited I've been for a 1975 album since before I knew they existed :(

US Hot 100 – 1/18/2020
Thanks B, that makes sense. I still don't really think there's an accurate way of doing these things to get something particularly meaningful but still interesting what the output is. I mean, I wish you'd read the article...

US Hot 100 – 1/18/2020
Hey Dan, what're these new rules? :o Cheers
-
Celeste - Not Your Muse
She's won BBC Sound of 2020! I wonder if she'll perform 'Strange' at the BRITS. Could be her 'Someone Like You' moment.

BBC Sound of 2020
Now Yungblud has been knocked out I'm expecting a Celeste victory with Georgia second. Quite like some of the songs by this year's list. Of the top 5 "Ice Cream Sundae" by Inhaler isn't bad and liking Joy Crookes "Hurts". Yungblud is a bit too 'youth culture' for me now :P
