  1. DJ Culture got 5.5 from me, a bigger score than I've given to the last few to go out.

Good to see Harriet Dart win her first WTA title at the age of 30 in Guangzhou. She had to come through qualifying and six of her seven matches went to a final set.
  3. I preferred that to her other song, I gave it 4.
  4. Congratulations Leww, your song was 2nd in my vote so I'm very pleased to see it win and well done to Nine finishing 2nd. Thanks Callum for hosting and coming up with the concept. Thanks to all those who gave points to Thomas Dolby, especially Julian for the 12.
  5. They can reveal themselves.
  6. Fate 17 was Rolloweenland. I have not won. 😢
  7. I would have liked to have seen Peek A Boo higher than 20th place. One of my favourites by Siouxsie.
  8. I like this twist on the normal results presentation.
  9. I didn't really comment on the Depeche Mode selections so far as it might have given away the fact that they were not me. I was surprised that none of their first four songs were from 1983-1997 when I think they were at their peak but they turned out to be good picks that were well received. I hope People Are People will be good enough to get them through another round. There are still two of their most popular songs to come. The New Order person has done a good job so far but I think Ceremony is a big risk. If I wasn't going for one of their big three songs that are still left at this stage, I would have picked something a bit dancier. Babooska is the song I would have expected from Kate Bush, it should see her through comfortably.
  10. Oh sorry, it's just my bad memory, then.
  11. He meant you guessed 14 of the people taking part, not who acts they are matched with. I think DaTilt might the one who isn't participating as I can't remember seeing him voting much.
  12. Chelsea 3-1 Manchester United AFC Bournemouth 2-1 Leeds United Brentford 2-0 Nottingham Forest Coventry City 1-1 Sunderland Hull City 1-1 Ipswich Town Manchester City 2-1 Brighton & Hove Albion Tottenham Hotspur 2-0 Crystal Palace Aston Villa 1-0 Fulham Liverpool 1-1 Arsenal Newcastle United 1-1 Everton
  13. Round 1: 30 Dreaming, R Dean Taylor Round 2: 33 The year, Brilliant 3 in 10: 3 Heaven Is A Place On Earth, Circle In The Sand, I Get Weak
  14. I've now had time to read through the results properly. When people said, in round 2, the Vengaboys song '1999' was a cover, I assumed they meant of the Prince song and I couldn't see any resemblance. It's only today that I've discovered that's it's a cover of a song that I don't know so it now makes sense to me.
  15. That's great news that Gary Numan, Depeche Mode and Kate Bush are all through to the live rounds. I'm glad we avoided any controversy if Eminem and Rihanna had qualified.
  16. Yes, I was Ultravox. While I could have been one of the other retro acts, I don't think anyone else would have picked Ultravox so it was fairly obvious. I made a big mistake picking All Stood Still in week 4 when there were plenty of other hit singles to choose from. I should really have chosen Hymn that week which probably would have done better, leaving me with Dancing With Tears In My Eyes which I think Judge Jaz would have liked and then Reap The Wild Wind might have got past the Sade song that few liked in the top 10 on Spotify week. For the bottom 10 on Spotify week, I might have come up with something to beat that Depeche Mode song as there seem to be some good ones in the bottom ten above 100K once you remove the live songs and remixes. So I might have avoided the Golden Wagner round if I didn't take that risk on week 4. I did tell Calum in week 1 that he was using an early photo from the 70s when John Foxx was the lead singer before Midge Ure joined the group and asked him to replace it but he didn't reply to me. This is what they actually look like:
  17. I gave it a score of 4.5, a decent enough Christmas song.
  18. I've just looked at the new release list to see if Peter Gabriel might get a number 1 album and see that he's releasing in the same week as Cliff so it could be a battle of the old men that week. Peter's last album in 2023 sold 15,645 which was enough to get to number 1. I have no idea how much Cliff's album will sell in November, I suppose it will depend on how much promotion he will be doing.
  19. Congratulations Chez on winning your first Unknown Pleasures and thanks to Matto for hosting this edition with great enthusiasm. I hope your move goes smoothly at the weekend. Thanks to everyone who gave points to Venetian Snares, especially Seven for the 20 points, I'm very happy with 12th place.
  20. Round 1: 36 Ricky Martin Round 2: 30 When Love Comes To Town, My Eyes Adored You 3 in 10: 3 Bermuda Triangle, Copacabana, Mandy
  21. Fluff Master was one of the songs I found when looking for an entry for the Club Bizarre 'Weird And Wired' edition a year ago. I chose the song by Knifehandchop instead which ended up finishing 3rd but I still liked Fluff Master and decided to enter it here. Thanks to everyone who has given it some points so far.
  22. I hadn't heard this song before and it didn't make much of an impression on me after one listen. I do know her version of Rent and like it a lot.
  23. I have voted. It was difficult to rank the songs at the listenthrough and there were some changes in position after my second listen. I voted for seven red countries and just three black countries.
  24. There's no hurry, take care Matto.
  25. Well done Jade and John on today's 39s. Round 1: 33 Mamas And Papas Round 2: 33 Blue Boy 3 in 10: 3 Animal, Hysteria, Let's Get Rocked
