UNKNOWN PLEASURES XXXIV :: RESULTS PHASE
Congratulations Addy on another win and thanks to Cody for hosting. 11th place was a bit better than I was expecting for my song, thanks to all who voted for it.

UNKNOWN PLEASURES XXXIV :: RESULTS PHASE
I predicted that Hostages might be a possible winner so I no longer have to worry about being the person that Herbs was referring to as being a bit snobby with music.

UNKNOWN PLEASURES XXXIV :: RESULTS PHASE
Thanks to everyone who has voted for Theodore so far, especially Suedehead for the full 20 points. It was a song I put on my potentials list a few years ago and used it now as I didn't have time to find anything new.

BuzzJack's Ultimate TV Show: THE RESULTS
It was the original series of Dallas that I voted for. It had huge viewing figures for most of its run. The revival wasn't bad, the last episode had three cliffhangers that will never be resolved.

UNKNOWN PLEASURES XXXIV :: RESULTS PHASE
I thought Chez might vote for Terra Twin just based on their name.

UNKNOWN PLEASURES XXXIV :: RESULTS PHASE
We thought Ratpajama might be Jade on the listenthrough

What is the most Ordinary #1 ever?
The lyrics of 'I've Never Been To Me' can certainly rule it out as being ordinary. It's quite the opposite.

Yes, that worked out nicely.

BuzzJack's Ultimate TV Show: THE RESULTS
I voted for Star Trek as the original series and also put some of the spinoffs in my vote as well. Good to see the epic historical saga Outlander this high as well. It's been shifted around different TV channels and then different streaming services and the only way I can watch it now is by paying for each series when it appears in the Sky Store as the MGM+ streaming service that shows it currently is not available in Ireland.

Buzzjack Champions League Prediction Competition 2024-25
I'm going to change my prediction for today's match as Mack has copied my score. I think I'm 7 points behind after last night's result with two matches left. So my new prediction is: PSG 2-1 Arsenal

My record of the week 60 years ago
Thanks for pointing that out. I've corrected it now, there's a clip of her singing it on a TV show.

What is the most Ordinary #1 ever?
I think any act that had multiple chart toppers would have a few that only got to number 1 because of who they were, rather than the song itself, Westlife being a good example. If I could pick a group I actually like, I would say Heart by the Pet Shop Boys which could be described as ordinary compared to many of their other singles.

My record of the week 60 years ago
6th - 12th May 1965 29. That's Why I'm Crying - The Ivy League https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-K8weditsHY A second hit for this group has some good harmonies backed up by effective use of the organ and drums. 32. Once Upon A Time - Tom Jones https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SwyA01p7OAI Tom Jones' follow-up to his number 1 will go no higher than this position. There are some biblical references in the lyrics including Delilah three years before she comes up again. 35. That'll Be The Day - The Everly Brothers https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-YdRwDbelYY The Everlys have released an album of cover versions and this is the one to be selected as a single. It adds little to the original. 39. This Little Bird - Marianne Faithfull https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sInFKoezcyw A sweet little song with a prominent role for the harp. It will be her third top 10 hit. Record of the week : 40. The Clapping Song - Shirley Ellis I've chosen this fun novelty song from the American singer with its instructions on how to do the clapping dance. I'm more familiar with the Belle Stars' cover from 1982 which reached number 11 but I've certainly heard this original version a few times. It will be her only UK hit single, going as high as number 6.

UNKNOWN PLEASURES XXXIV | VOTING PHASE :: DEADLINE: MONDAY 5 MAY 23:59 PM BST
Voted now. The standard was high, I changed the positions in my vote quite a lot after the third listen including my 20 point song.
