I'm glad I'm not the only one who lost five points with that last minute Everton equaliser. Six of us predicted a 2-1 win for Manchester United.

I haven't looked at the list of number 1s for this year but I think I might well have the same bottom four, there's not much to like about any of them. The Iron Maiden song isn't much better but I liked the fact a heavy metal song could get to number 1 in 1991. Run To Hills is my favourite from them.

That's a great top 10. My favourites from those would be 'Be My Baby', 'California Dreamin', 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale' and 'God Only Knows' although I would pick 'Good Vibrations' as my favourite Beach Boys song. I wasn't sure if I knew 'Venus In Furs' but I did recognise it when I played it.

Ashes To Ashes - The Mindbenders https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2FoihfQYlrY A fairly slow paced song with some nice touches in the background but not standing out enough to get this week's award. It's a song with Eric Stewart on lead vocal that I haven't heard before so good to add to the collection. It will be the group's final top 40 hit. 33. I Can't Turn You Loose - Otis Redding https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9sCoq-7s9s I like the horns and drums from the backing band but Otis' vocals are strained and uncomfortable to listen to. 36. Stop That Girl - Chris Andrews https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9SjaWZwywzc A decent up-tempo pop song with the usual boisterous brass accompaniment. It will be his last hit but he's still going at the age of 83. 38. When I Come Home - The Spencer Davis Group After two number1 hits, this is a bit disappointing. They didn't intend to release it as a single but did so after it featured in the film 'The Ghost Goes Gear'. It will only get to number 12. Record of the week : 32. How Sweet It Is (To Be Loved By You) - Junior Walker and the All Stars It's not the best week for new entries so I've gone with something familiar, even if I haven't heard this version before. I know the James Taylor version the most, rather than Marvin Gaye's original. This one sounds like it's live at a party with plenty of people clapping, whooping and singing along. A good, fun record with the saxophone solo being the highlight. It will be the first hit for the American group, peaking at number 22.

One of my earliest memories from watching Top Of The Pops is the video for Ernie (The Fastest Milkman In The West) being shown every week it was at number 1. I like that Dr Hook song a lot, my favourite by them, just ahead of Sylvia's Mother.

Once again, congrats to Jim. I think I might have heard the song before but wasn't very familiar with it and well done Spiceboy finishing 2nd on your debut.
