45. Daryl Hall & John Oates - I Can't Go For That (No Can Do) 139pts Writers - Sara Allen, Daryl Hall, John Oates Top points - Liamski689 22, Uls2000 21, Yog1963 20, ...ready for it 20 From 1981 and hitting the chart in 1982, this was the first of just two top 10 hits for the duo from Philadelphia. It was also their fourth US number 1 single. At the recording of 'We Are The World' a few years later, Michael Jackson admitted to Daryl Hall that he had copied the bassline for his own song 'Billie Jean'.

46. Depeche Mode - In Your Room 131pts Writer - Martin Gore Top points - King Rollo 22, Julian 20, dandy* 20 Like the Stone Roses, Depeche Mode will just have one song in the final as In Your Room drops out. It was the fourth single to be taken from 'Songs Of Faith And Devotion'. My own score of 22 is based on the album version. The song was remixed for the single release and I think this version lacks the punch and scale of the original recording.

That was a great century from Harry Brook to steer England to the semi-finals. They seem to be playing better now after struggling through the first round group.

The Pop Factor: Season 2 • THE FINAL RESULTS
I think for many of us it will be which album track we think others will like even if it isn't our own favourite from them. That's the way I'm thinking, anyway.

50. Everything But The Girl - Wrong 92pts Writers - Tracey Thorn, Ben Watt Top points - AH Gold 19, Jester 17, Liamski689 16 'Wrong' was jszmiles' wild card but he didn't vote in this semi-final so it can't avoid a Monday exit. It was the third in a run of three consecutive top 10 hits for the duo from Hull in the mid 90s to add to their first one, 'I Don't Want To Talk About It' which had reached number 3 in 1988.

Moby's 1997 remix appeared on the soundtrack to 'Tomorrow Never Dies'. It was his highest peaking single up to that point and was subsequently beaten just once to that title, by 'Porcelain' in 2000, which reached number 5. Moby released his 23rd studio album last Friday.

Winter Olympic Country Manager 2026
I'm happy with 3rd place as I was the eighth person to pick a country. The hosts always do better than they usually would so I thought Italy would be a good choice. Thanks Mack for running this. I think it just needs the medals from the last day to be added on which could affect some of the other final positions.

dandy* ranks the UK #1 singles of 1979
Cars was the first single I ever bought. The same applies to Don't Bring Me Down by ELO as I bought them both at the same time in WH Smith. They were at number 1 and number 3 in the chart that week. I Don't Like Mondays was quite ambitious in its arrangement for what was essentially a punk band. I think I would put it around 6th place as well. Sunday Girl is quite good but not one of my favourite Blondie singles.
