  1. 21 points Atomic Kitten - Someone Like Me / Right Now (2004 remix) Liam Payne and Rita Ora - For You Roy Wood - Forever Michael Zager Band - Let's All Chant With this single reaching number 8, Roy Wood had managed top 10 hits with three different groups (The Move, ELO and Wizzard) and as a solo artist. This is not a unique feat as I know Midge Ure did the same and there may be others but I doubt anyone did it as quickly as Roy with a gap of less than seven years from The Move's first hit 'Night Of Fear' to Forever. Also here is the disco classic from 1978, Let's All Chant, which was also a hit for Pat and Mick in 1988 and Gusto in 1996.
  2. That information won't be revealed at this point.
  3. Crazy that's it's almost three hours since the match started.
  4. And now he's missed the penalty!
  5. I haven't been watching the tournament until the final. This is quite unprecedented what's happening right now. They can't just walk off the pitch.
  6. Duran Duran - Save A Prayer Dire Straits - Private Investigations ABC - All Of My Heart Thomas Dolby - Windpower Depeche Mode - Leave In Silence
  7. Kenny Morris left the group in 1979 so he wouldn't have contributed to those ones.

  10. 20 points Bone Thugs-n-Harmony - Tha Crossroads Feist - 1234 M People - How Can I Love You More (remix) Puddle Of Mudd - Blurry The Saturdays - If This Is Love Dusty Springfield - In The Middle Of Nowhere How Can I Love You More was M People's first hit in 1991, reaching number 29. This remix by Sasha gave them their first top 10 single in 1993. From 1965, In The Middle Of Nowhere was a fourth top 10 hit for Dusty Springfield. The Saturdays, who have been mentioned in today's comments, lose the second of their two songs.
  11. 19 points Shirley Bassey - Never, Never, Never (Grande, Grande, Grande) Creedence Clearwater Revival - Travellin' Band Chicago - Hard Habit To Break Electric Light Orchestra - The Diary Of Horace Wimp David Morales presents The Face - Needin' U Robbie Williams - Advertising Space Jeff Lynne has often championed the cause of ordinary, socially inept men in his songs, particularly with his first group, The Idle Race, maybe because he is one himself, despite his fame. In 1979, he gave us a week in the life of Horace Wimp, one of four top 10 hits from the Discovery album. Hard Habit To Break certainly deserves a youtube embed but has to settle for 2nd place out of this 19 point batch. It was the last of five top 10 singles for Chicago. Creedence Clearwater Revival still have a second song to come.
  12. 18 points Sheryl Crow - A Change Would Do You Good Donovan - Mellow Yellow Jason Derulo featuring Snoop Dogg - Wiggle Far Corporation - Stairway To Heaven Fine Young Cannibals - Suspicious Minds Dannii Minogue - Love And Kisses Mott The Hoople - Roll Away The Stone Linda Ronstadt and James Ingram - Somewhere Out There Far Corporation were a project of Frank Farian who was the man behind Boney M and Milli Vanilli. I do think this cover is better than the original with the use of a choir and that heavy drum sound. I've never seen any visuals for it so this was a treat for me watching it. They even have the choir on stage with them. Apparently, Robert Plant was in the audience and loved it. I was the only one who gave it some points. Mellow Yellow was one of seven top 10 hits for Donovan from 1965 to 1968. Dannii Minogue appears for the second day in a row with her first hit single, Love And Kisses. Roll Away The Stone was the third and final top 10 hit for Mott The Hoople in 1973.
  13. 17 points Alphaville - Big In Japan Selena Gomez - Come And Get It Lisa Stansfield - In All The Right Places Daz Sampson - Teenage Life Usher featuring Juicy J - I Don't Mind From 1984, this was a one hit wonder for Alphaville. In the streaming era, Forever Young is their most popular song with three times as many streams. The UK's 2006 Eurovision entry, Teenage Life, is here. Daz Sampson started out as a footballer and has returned to the sport as a manager of different clubs in Europe, Asia and the US.
  14. Biscuit by Portishead was a pointless answer in the jackpot round of Pointless just now. The subject was Bristol Trip Hop which has been one of the four options for, I think, more than a year now. The finalists have always rejected it every time it came up. The man did really well, coming up with three pointless answers for tracks on the Massive Attack collection or tracks from any of the three Portishead albums they listed. His other two answers were Butterfly Caught and Five Man Army.
  15. Wednesday's wasn't on there yesterday so moving onto Thursday: Round 1: 36 Sweet Round 2: 24 Is This The Way To Amarillo (couldn't think of it), David Gray, the year, Billy Ocean 3 in 10: 3 Tainted Love, Bedsitter, Say Hello Wave Goodbye

  17. 16 points Bryan Adams - Thought I'd Died And Gone To Heaven Rick Astley - Take Me To Your Heart Michael Jackson and Paul McCartney - The Girl Is Mine Luude and Mattafix - Big City Life Thought I'd Died And Gone To Heaven came out about four months after Bryan Adams' sixteen week stay at number 1 with (Everything I Do) I Do It For You. Michael Jackson makes his daily appearance this time with the first single to be taken from his huge selling album Thriller. So far he has scored 4, 8, 12 and 16 points so very neatly ordered. Take Me To Your Heart was the sixth of eight consecutive top 10 hits for Rick Astley.
  18. 15 points Azzido Da Bass - Dooms Night (Remix) Eminem - Fall Pebbles - Girlfriend The Pretenders - Talk Of The Town We've now lost both of the Pretenders number 8s with 1980's Talk Of The Town dropping out. From 1988, Girlfriend was the only top 40 hit for Pebbles who has been married five times and is now known as Sister Perri. Dooms Night only got to number 46 on its first release but a remix by Timo Maas pushed it up to number 8. Eminem falls at this hurdle but has a second song to come.
  19. 14 points The Chemical Brothers - It Began In Afrika Cher - The Music's No Good Without You Craig David - What's Your Flava? Dannii Minogue - Jump To The Beat R.E.M. - Bad Day Shania Twain - Ka-Ching! Toploader - Achilles Heel This was the lead single from the Chemical Brothers' fourth album 'Come With Us'. Another song from the same album is still to come. Dannii Minogue's 1991 cover of the Stacy Lattisaw song Jump To the Beat is the odd one out here as the other six songs are all from 1999-2003. Craig David loses the second of his two songs.
  20. 13 points Sammy Davis Jr. - Love Me Or Leave Me Franz Ferdinand - Matinee Genesis - Turn It On Again David Guetta featuring Nicki Minaj - Turn Me On Busta Rhymes featuring Kelis and will.i.am - I Love My Chick Sugababes - In The Middle Soho - Hippychick From 1980, this was the second top 10 hit for Genesis. It's one of six tracks spread around the Duke album that tell the story of Duke and Duchess. Going back to 1955, Love Me Or Leave Me was the only top 10 single by Sammy Davis Jr. Sugababes have four number 8 singles with three of them receiving votes. In The Middle is the first to drop out. From 1990, Hippychick was the only top 40 hit for Soho.
  21. Just to confirm, the listenthrough will start at 8pm this evening. I'll post the link later.
  22. Sorry, I must have missed that. Maybe you giving 28 points to her sister Cardi B made me not see her and move straight to the 26 points. The 11 points were from The Snake so I have added the 27 points to her score.
  23. 12 points Backstreet Boys - Incomplete The Course - Ain't Nobody Ariana Grande - Santa Baby Jon and Vangelis - I Hear You Now The Jackson Five - ABC The Lightning Seeds - You Showed Me New Kids On The Block - Let's Try Again / Didn't I Blow Your Mind Richard X featuring Kelis - Finest Dreams Donna Summer, who appeared on the 11 point list, had another hit with a Jon & Vangelis song called 'State Of Independence' and they are just ahead of her on 12 points with this one from 1980. Backstreet Boys have five singles which peaked at number 8 and Incomplete is the first of the three that received votes. The original Ain't Nobody is still to come but for the moment, we have a cover by The Course. Ariana Grande makes her second appearance of the day, she still has one song left. You Showed Me is the only top 10 hit by the Lightning Seeds that isn't a version of Three Lions.
  24. 11 points A-ha - Train Of Thought Akon featuring Colby O'Donis and Kardinal Offishall - Beautiful H & Claire - Half A Heart Alison Moyet - All Cried Out Milky - Just The Way You Are Lionel Richie - Say You, Say Me Donna Summer - I Feel Love (1995 re-recording) Train Of Thought was the follow-up to A-ha's number 1, 'The Sun Always Shines On TV'. Their other number 8 is still to come. Also from the mid 80s, we have Alison Moyet's All Cried Out and Lionel Richie's US chart topper Say You Say Me which is best remembered for its sudden tempo change.
  25. 10 points Craig David - Rendezvous Debbie Harry - French Kissin' In The USA Elton John - Blue Eyes The Saturdays - Notorious Status Quo - Ice In The Sun 2 Unlimited - Faces The Veronicas - You Ruin Me Zedd and Alessia Cara - Stay From 1986, this was the only solo top 10 hit for Debbie Harry. Ice In The Sun was an early song by Status Quo, their second hit single in 1968. Blue Eyes gave Elton John a revival in 1982 after his previous five singles had peaked from 33 to 44. His last top 10 hit had been 'Song For Guy' in 1978. The Veronicas still have one song to come.
