  1. I'm more familiar with the groups than the solo artists so I know a lot of these songs.
  2. Everybody's entry has now been seen by the mods and there are no vetoes!
  3. Round 1: 36 Bon Jovi Round 2: 39 💥 3 in 10: 1 Wild World
  4. I don't think covers or collaborations could ever be a theme as many acts don't do either.
  5. Round 1: 30 The year, Robin Sarstedt Round 2: 30 Tracks Of My Tears, Garrett 3 in 10: 3 What's The Frequency, Kenneth?, Everybody Hurts, Orange Crush
  6. Your act has not been taken. There's only been one artist clash so far, with the same song, and that person has reconfirmed.
  7. Are you counting Sade as a female? They are a group.
  8. I agree that 80s Abba are better as my two favourites by them are The Day Before You Came and One Of Us. West End Girls and Two Tribes are the best two songs so far. I would also put Two Tribes above The Power Of Love and Relax in order of Frankie's best number 1 singles and agree with Jaz that the full 13 minute album version of Welcome To The Pleasuredome is just as good as any of them. I did laugh at you doing a school project on banned songs when some of them aren't considered as suitable for children to listen to.
  9. Some wonderful choices so far along with several I've never heard of.
  10. Spiceboy is on the list of entrants, Julian.
  11. We're up to 20 entrants so far. Still five days left for everyone else.
  12. Round 1: 33 The year, Lynsey De Paul Round 2: 27 The Free Electric Band, Move Over Darling, the year 3 in 10: 3 Dirrty, Beautiful, Genie In A Bottle
  13. After this starts, I hope that Calum will post a list of the second and third choices that were not needed.
  14. I only did it once but it says "your response has been recorded" so that's good enough for me.
  15. Finished at 19.03.

I will be typing at my normal speed with one finger and will have a quick look at the rules before going to the form. I refuse to be a part of the undignified scramble that is about to take place.

I think there will still be some places available after the initial rush. It normally takes 24 hours for them to fill up and I don't think there will be many more people wanting to take part than last time. I might be wrong, of course.
  18. Have you tried blowing your nose? That normally works for me.

Oh thanks, I thought that people who had females last year weren't going to be allowed to have them again this year, to make it fairer. At least, this makes it more likely that people will get the category they want. I wonder if people will choose song titles for their first song that are short so that it will take less time to fill out the form.
  20. @WoW73 I'm just tagging you as you've previously asked to be kept informed of when a new song contest starts.

We have to apply for all three categories on the form and Calum then decides who goes where, that's the way I read it.

Will we be allowed to swap categories after being given them? I'm sure a lot of people want the female category more than I do and all the acts I really want to enter are groups. If I get a female, I'm quite happy to swap with someone who gets a group and really wants a female.
  23. I don't think there was much publicity at the time about Nik Kershaw being the writer so I didn't know and only found out many years later. I think I would put the song higher up as well.
  24. Yes, they can still have been making music in the intervening years.
  25. A lot of these big sellers aren't very good but I have an affection for all of them as they are the soundtrack to my childhood. The Smurf Song is iconic, I was annoyed at the time that it was kept off the top of the chart for six weeks by You're The One That I Want.
