iTunes Chart: October 2010 (III)
They had Dizzie on Britain's Got Talent so I guess anything is possible

Cheryl literally confirmed it in yesterday's Mirror, due to happen next year apparently

Jesus! That is incredibly high! This is why the papers write so much about her - so many people are interested. If they weren't it wouldn't have got those figures

X-Factor Chart Thread (I)
Wasn't quite sure where to put this, but it is sort of relevent for a future chart http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/tv/news/a28387...e-gameshow.html

iTunes Chart: October 2010 (III)
I was wondering about this, obviously each year that goes by sales are usually getting higher (in singles anyway), and I was wondering that even though it's taking a tiny bit longer (not much by the looks of it) to storm up to the top, could it roughly be on the same level as Fight? As on average, it would need more downloads to surpass everything? Does this make sense? I'm not sure i worded it right. Like for example. If the #10 song was selling 100 copies an hour last year but is selling 150 copies this year, it would take more copies to be sold to overtake it. Does this make sense on what I'm trying to ask?

The **Irish** iTunes Chart [NOV-OCT 2010]
Actually we do hear about it all the time and yes she did nearly die, I'm not sure you understand how serious Malaria is. I actually thought the way people reacted to it was kind of strange, if Cheryl was diagnosed with cancer there would have been an out-pouring that would have supassed that of Jade Goody - as it was Malaria and because she lives in a developed country, the reaction was a bit meh. This actually has nothing to do with Cheryl and more to do with how people perseve different diseases.

The **Irish** iTunes Chart [NOV-OCT 2010]
But then thats not entirely true either. Cheryl was a media darling long before she got the job on X Factor. Ok it has helped it sky-rocket, but before, she was only a couple of notches below Victoria Beckham level of fame - largely due to the fact she was married to Ashley - (remember those horrible Lottery photos anyone?) And remember the first Ashley allegations - I think that was when Cheryl became the media darling - she was never out of the papers for months, then she got X Factor that kept her there. And you say if she stopped being a judge, well her life in the papers doesn't suddenly stop in January and pick up again in June - it is all year round. And yes, I'm quite suprised Rihanna is on top - I haven't even heard it yet! lol

The **Irish** iTunes Chart [NOV-OCT 2010]
It runs full circle though - the media wouldn't keep talking about her if the public wasn't interested in her

Albums should cost £1
It depends I guess, they certainly don't make anything from illegal downloads. It will just depend if enough people who usually illegally download will be enticed to buy it for £1 to compensate those who usually buy it for £7, £8, £9 - it is an appealing offer - getting an album in a higher quality, god knows how much single downloads would be though? 10p? I think the first artist to this would reap the benifits though, once its the norm, it would be alot harder

BIRD IS THE WORD FOR CHRISTMAS #1 2010
I think its got to a stage now where there are too many campaigns. Thats going to dilute the sales and considering the Rage campaign had over 1 million facebook fans, but 500,000 actual downloads means that all these campaigns will have to start picking up fast. The problem is now that there's too many campaigns diluting sales, while the X Factor will probably still remain strong, so I can see X Factor re-claiming the X-mas #1 this year

A Silence at number 1 for Christmas 2010
I'm confused, I haven't been on the facebook page - are you mixing me up with someone else?
-
A Silence at number 1 for Christmas 2010
It makes me laugh that people accuse those who buy X Factor related stuff as sheep - but isn't this the same thing? If this goes ahead you will be spending 79p or 99p on literally nothing. Considering many people face losing their jobs in the public sector - I can't believe people will willingly throw money down the drain just to spite something. Again if you want to stop X Factor - FAIRYTALE OF NEW YORK!
-
A Silence at number 1 for Christmas 2010
The only campaign I want to see work is to get Fairytale of New York to #1 - especially as it will coincide with the 10 year annerversary of Kirsty's passing.

Is Just the Way You Are losing some stride?

iTunes Chart: October 2010 (II)
If he does have strong physical sales then I'll be really happy - I'm just not willing to get my hopes up at all though. Like I said before, Bad Boys and Bleeding Love were hammered - they were expected releases that everyone rushed out to download and/or buy in stores. Ambitions only got its attention last night so the expectation isn't there - and on the Almost Saturday chart - wasn't Joe behind The Wanted in pre-orders?
-
iTunes Chart: October 2010 (II)
You get my point - she's the strongest physical format selling artist Also her sales are over 2cds and a vinal arent they? Joe will only have 1cd on the shelf
-
iTunes Chart: October 2010 (II)
I guess it depends on how many he sells - Kylie is arguebly the strongest seller for cd singles nowadays with 12,000 physical sales for All the Lovers and 5,000 for Get Out of My Way in their first week. I can see Joe selling between 4-6,000 on physical cds and I guess it just depends how close sales are this week

iTunes Chart: October 2010 (II)
And I remember the inital reaction to both Bleeding Love and Bad Boys to be lukewarm - (though I loved them both instantly and defending both tracks on forums like this one and Popjustice) it took a couple of weeks to take hold before everybody loved them.

iTunes Chart: October 2010 (II)
It's a hard one to judge Ambitions against Bad Boys and Bleeding Love - mainly because the other two were hammered to death by TV and Radio weeks before its release. Ambitions only made its radio debut 3 weeks on Wednesday and the video 2 weeks ago - it hasn't had as long to seep into the public's brain and the majority of people wouldn't have even realised that there was a single out until watching X Factor last night. I fear the same is going to happen for Diana Vickers next week - I've only just seen the video for My Wicked Heart and thats having to search for it on youtube, I'm not sure if its even been sent to radio yet - but it has a fantastic video and I love the song. It's download is this Sunday coming and its cd release is 1st November

Back to #3 for Joe - like someone said before - it must have been an itunes error when it slipped back

I know people who were affected by 9/11 in someway and also the 7/7 London bombings. To equate terrorism to Leona being beaten to #1 is just sick and its the mindlessness ignorancy that is so appaling
