  1. Start Without You is #2!!!!!!!!!! WOO HOO!!
  2. Doubt it: Thats from their record company who posts in the popjustice forum. So wherever it is - they won't get dropped, so if that was trying to rally me then it won't. Of course Same Difference aren't gonna be high - their on a small, new record label
  3. Yeah they do (and more often it's usually #1 followed by an out of top 10 position) but though I don't think McFly will get a #1 next week, I don't think it will fall so quickly either. This is probably their first song that has shown some strength in the itunes chart. They're a weird band because with all their #1s, they look like one of the biggest bands in the UK, but their sales and chart lengths prove otherwise. Party Girl, though for me, is probably one of their better songs so I'm happy to see it do well. I hope their new album is more grown up. I hated all the kiddie lyrics in their songs while pretending to be a rock band. I just felt it didn't work. But thats my opinion anyway
  4. Alexandra's going up rather quickly now isn't she. The gap between #5 and #4 was a fair distance, but she's overthrown it with ease
  5. Title confirmed as Insatiable:
  6. Some things to put on the new one later: Nadine Coyle - Insatiable - 1st November (Single) Nadine Coyle - Insatiable - 8th November (Album) http://www.dailystar.co.uk/playlist/view/1...with-Insatiable
  7. I think it will be The Script #1 and Alex #2 by the end of the Irish chart week. I can't believe how far Mcfly are dropping - the way their going they're not gonna enter the charts next friday. I think Alesha might go top 15. Are The Script on physicals as well? Alex might have an edge on them if not
  8. I haven't heard but...... Same Difference have collaborated with Alcazar on a track called "Karma Karma" I can't wait to hear it!
  9. They have also done a review of Shine On Forever (Photoframe)
  10. Interview with Digital Spy:
  11. I guess, as there's been two versions, pre-sales and the cd singles from the website have helped boost it up
  12. #72 in the midweeks - so not too bad. I do wish it could sneak into the top 40!
  13. Singles: Same Difference - Shine On Forever (Photoframe) Downloads: Same Difference - Shine On Forever (Photoframe) Hurts - Wonderful Life
  14. I would say America does obsess with American Idol - don't they averagely get between 20-30 million viewers? And the final can attract 70-90 million. The difference is, because American charts are based on Airplay AND Sales - the sales might be high but it won't be enough if the Airplay isn't
  15. Considering Meet Me Halfway only went to #1 after its X Factor performance, how do we know it would have gone to #1 at all if X Factor didn't exist? It was the 3rd single from a very successful album, usually that doesn't tend to mean another #1 - certainly in the 4th Quarter, when there is so much competition around (even if you take out X Factor)
  16. But doesn't that also apply to Mcfly, The Saturdays, Kylie etc who also tend to be quite front-loaded (Kylie is hard to say because she went tactical with All the Lovers) and they as yet have nothing to do with X Factor. What you're talking about is fanbases in general - which if they start doing the "Release the song as soon as it hits radio" might sort alot of this out. Manipulation of a chart is nothing new. How else do you explain all of Westlife's #1s or even Spice Girls. Was Top of the Pops manipulating because it was only able to show a certain amount of artists each week. There's talk of next years X Factor being moved so the winners single would be released in March 2012 and X Factor would start around October/November time - this is to coincide with X Factor starting out in America. But, if this happens, I'm very worried about how that would effect particularly album sales during christmas. Could they completely slump all together? Because its not just the artists that appear on X Factor that it does wonders for - but also for those who have their albums advertised during the ad breaks. Surely they are going to want 14+ million viewers knowing that their album is released on Monday, rather than 4 million. Like it or not X Factor and Britian's Got Talent are the biggest shows on TV to pick up advertisers. In a time when the UK is bracing itself to go into a double-dip recession, advertisers will be looking at X Factor and ITV to advertise their products to ensure they are sold and that business keeps going (whatever it is) - because who knows whats going to happen
  17. I'm not sure, I know that Black Eyed Peas were on the same show as Leona but did anyone really think that they would beat her to the #1 spot a week before?
  18. Same Difference - Shine On Forever (Photoframe) #489 and #509
  19. He was on last years X Factor and was runner-up I'm going to post something that I actually posted in another thread a couple of weeks ago - mainly because I think its relevent to whats being said on here I just think it gives a new angle to it, and I think when it comes to TV talent shows, well its a great platform, but its what you do with that platform that really counts
  20. I quite like Olly and his song to be honest. Although I'm not gonna buy the single - probably hold out for the album
  21. #545 and #648 on the Itunes chart right now! Download it here: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/shine-on-...ame/id382477355 and here: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/shine-on-...ame/id384941876
  22. Same Difference - Shine On Forever (Photoframe) #555, #723
  23. Considering they haven't had mass promotion and on a brand new small record label. And very tiny amounts of TV and Radio play then yeah I think its doing well - and there is another version charting as well
  24. Same Difference - Shine On Forever (Photoframe) - #601, #923 Glad its doing well: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/album/shine-on-...ame/id384941876
  25. Well of course you will need reminding. Thats only natural, you can't be born with all of the song knowledge. It's a process that happens all the time. It's only a few years ago Cadbury's reminded the UK of the greatness that is In The Air Tonight by Phil Collins. And Alexandra Burke's Halleujah reminded people of the Jeff Buckley version - and so on and so forth. A good song will always be remembered - just listen to Heart FM to hear new and old stuff Also - weddings can make such an impression when it comes to pop music. Weddings are where I learnt the dance routine to YMCA (shameful i know) and first heard Simon and Garfuncle's "Cecilia" - because I wasn't even born when those two tracks came out. But I still love "Cecilia" - I remember setting up my own dance to lyrics - all good fun!
