Friday Chart Predictions
Next year will be 10 years since George Michael’s passing. I can’t see that not resonating next year. But if Kylie achieves the #1 this year, it might encourage bigger names next year to go for it. Harry Styles maybe?

I have no idea but they must work in the industry somewhere.

Who knows the trickery involved could be a way of the OCC doing something about playlists all together. The fact though is, this time of year, all people listen to is Christmas songs so they will always take over and depending how high you’re up in the playlists will help or hinder your chart position. I do think XMAS is resonating on a larger scale than previous Amazon exclusives. When they covered the Christmas #1 race on This Morning yesterday, only two songs were mentioned - Kylie’s and Wham!’s. And one of them said “Wham’s had their turn, let Kylie have it”

Would that be the total figure for XMAS since release?

I’m always wonder how the estimated data for tomorrow, particularly from the weekend will Impact the overall estimate they’ll give for tomorrow? But it is looking promising for Kylie.

I think it was just info that they closed the gap by 125 units. Yesterday would have added in the Sunday data. Annoying not to know how they’re sales are tracking each day. But a nearly 9k lead is phenomenal! The music video is taking off too. It was tracking just under 100k views a day, it’s now reached 555k views and hasn’t completed 5 days yet until 8.15pm tonight.

Just thought it would be good to have a recap of this time last years Monday midweek: 01 Wham! - Last Christmas (23,834) 02 Tom Grennan - It Can't Be Christmas (17,663) 03 Mariah Carey - All I Want for Christmas Is You (16,771) 04 Gracie Abrams - That's So True (14,899) 05 Brenda Lee - Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree (13,762) Interesting how the sales for the positions are pretty much the same but Wham now having the #2 sales and Kylie currently having those #1 sales.

Friday Chart Predictions
This looks very likely Kylie will be top 2 for the first time since I Believe In You which was 2004. Kylie will also be the first female to be top 3 in the singles in 5 consecutive decades.

Friday Chart Predictions
I think number 1 we are all excited for Kylie and as fans we know what this’ll mean to her. Not only her, but the outpouring she got when Padam became a hit from fellow female performers and those that work in the entertainment industry shows how much she defies the odds but also has given such a boost for other “older” females that it gives them a chance too. For too long, age and sexism have played a downfall in the careers of female entertainers. Even for actors, male actors can still have luxurious careers into their retirement years, female actors get sidelined the older they get, but in recent years that tide has turned too. As much as it’s amazing that this could be a record breaking week for Kylie - in ways it shouldn’t be. Many more female singers should be scoring hits but the industry and the publics focus on the young has sidelined so many out which just isnt fair. Kylie’s been battling against that and winning which opens doors for everyone else. Secondly, whichever way you look at it, the Christmas #1 has diminished in value throughout the 21st century for various reasons. The charts in general, I long stopped posting in here because of the way the charts have been. If they become exciting again navigating the streaming world, isn’t that a good thing?

Friday Chart Predictions
The fact it’s looking likely she’ll become the first ever female to have top 3 singles in 5 consecutive decades and in the running for a #1 single near 40 years into a career. It’s just incredible. There’s so much good will for her. I just love all this for her.

Yah!! Come on Kylie!!

Friday Chart Predictions
She added 5K since Monday. And she needs another 5K to where Kylie is now, so I’d say it’s unlikely as Kylie will still add some more sales. But it will be close.

Friday Chart Predictions
She has Strictly and I presume Jingle Bell Ball will be shown next week too. I’ve checked and Tom didn’t have that promo last year, so it could give more weight to her. She also has a stronger physical force with the cd release come Friday.
