Teddy Swims - Lose Control
Airplay sounds about right, it doesn’t count towards the ARIA chart but radio in Australia has been slamming this song. Not as much as Beautiful Things (which is actually #1) but I put that down to one of them actually being an enjoyable song ;)

Camila Cabello feat. Playboi Carti - I LUV IT
Awful vocals aside, I like the sound of the production on that clip? Maybe there’ll be a really well made album with shocking vocals

2024 Australian Chart Thread
That’s a good point. It would all come down to manufactured popularity vs. actual popularity. Yes, songs like Dance Monkey, Cruel Summer, Something In The Orange, etc. have spent ridiculous lengths on the chart. But there is a reason for that in that they are just crazy popular songs. It’s unexciting but it’s accurate. There becomes the thing also, where the longer a song stays on the chart the more it will get played commercially. Radio likes to play the popular songs which are the ones that have been on the chart for a long time, and then that advertises people to play/buy the song and the cycle continues. Same goes for streaming Top Hit playlists which feature the biggest songs closest to the top so that people know to think “oh this playlist has Taylor Swifts biggest song from the year so it must be good”. Juxtapose that with the current events going on with Triple J “mainstreaming” itself and you end up with radio that is either a) playing only the most popular songs or b) playing alt rock hits from 20 years ago because that is the demographic.

What do you think is Taylor’s best written song?
Marjorie  folklore and evermore probably take the cake when it comes to Taylor’s songwriting talents. Even if either of them aren’t your favourite album it’s hard to argue they aren’t lyrical finesse

BuzzJack presents...
I’m late to this but these are all superb, fantastic job everyone involved! Extra props to 1999, 2017, and Lost Legends. I’ve saved all three of those on Spotify and will happily play through these frequently. Britpop isn’t my favourite genre (would you consider it as a genre or more of a style?) but I still admit there’s quite a few solid songs on there. Amazing Edit: I forgot to mention this before, but I wanna commend you guys on the flow on each of these albums. Something Now! hasn’t been successful in for… years? If ever! There’s natural progression track on track flowing between genres as best as possible. I’ve looked at the most recent official Now’s and they are wildly all over the place
