Take That Progress sales
It was the biggest pre-order in history so it certainly was very much front loaded. 70% drop is no real surprise - The Circus dropped by 65% on the second day - and it sold nowhere near as many on the first day. Let's take a look at 'The Circus' midweek figures: Tue: 133K Wed: 204K Thu: 256K No more midweeks given but as we know it sold 432K by the end of the week. So it sold: Mon: 133K Tue: 71K (65% drop) Wednesday: 52K (37% drop) and then a further 176,000 on Thursday, Friday and Satruday. Progress: Monday: 235K Tue: 70K (70% drop) So far 'Progress' sold 100K more first day - this 100K lead remains on the second day too. The Circus sold well over twice it's Tuesday figure by the Sunday - So by all accounts 'progress' album is almost certainly going to sell over 600,000 copies by Sunday.

A poster on Haven has claimed 'Progress' is now on 305K - how true this is I don't know.

Take That Progress sales
Next half hour hopefully. Although I wouldn't be surprised if MW didn't even bother giving sales.

The Blue Room
 It is the banks that are the problem - they need bailing out. The people who are working (all 17 of us) can just about afford a CD or two a year these days as a treat :smoke: Oddly enough this country is still mega expensive and twice the price of the same stuff up the North (in the UK). And our PM still gets paid more than David Cameron and Obama. You couldn't make it up. It's like an episode of Father Ted.

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert
No just a cheap crap brand - most of those are region free - it is really only the expensive ones with brand names such as Sony, Samsung etc that are not. Try find something like this for example. http://www.powercity.ie/?par=10-19-DV1122

The Blue Room
Have you bought Bruce's new 'The Promise' album? It is AMAZING  Left overs from 'Darkness' but it is a whole different beast altogether and stands alone as an amazing double album

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Concert
Get one of those really cheap DVD players that are region free. I got one for a tenner last year :D This concert is utterly AMAZING

Take That Progress sales
Zeus - Billboard have now claimed 'Bere Here Now' sold 424,000 in it's first day - the OOC is it's source, however the OCC claimed in their article it was 350,000. Very odd isn't it? http://www.billboard.com/news/take-that-sc...004126908.story Reuters have also corrected their article changing the Oasis number from 350,000 to 424,000 - after the OCC corrected their original figure. http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSLDE6AF26K20101116

Album sales Progress - Fastest seling album of the century!
Intensive Care is Rob's fastest seller (and the fastest seller in history for a male artist) - near 375,000 sold in the week and 128,000 first day. Here is the full top 35 fastest sellers - Progress will at worst be a new entry at #2. :D http://ipicture.ru/uploads/20101116/Jo5IoFUU.jpg

Take That Progress sales
They will be on CIN on Friday so Saturday sales will be HUGE! They should do some other promo though. They are on the Live Lounge next Monday but nothing else planned for this week. I think they should appear on Daybreak - actually no scratch that - the album's opening sales are already higher than that show's ratings :P This Morning, Paul O'Grady (although that clashes with CIN) - There really is very little to promote on. They need to do their first live TV interview soon anyway. I think it will all happen next week though. I am dying to see Charis's reaction to these sales. Westlife don't have a hope in hell of selling 235K in the entire week - they probably won't even sell half of that figure. :smoke:

Take That: Look Back, Don't Stare
Wait would not be a good choice IMO. I like that song but it isn't powerful enough really - SOS and Kidz would both make better singles. Besides in order to balance things out a Mark Owen lead is needed for the second single - plus both SOS and Kidz feature Robbie too so either make sense, not Wait!

Take That Progress sales
According to the OCC 'Be Here Now' only sold 350,000 first day. :o Can you confirm which figure is correct? It's confusing! TT with Robbie back could very well back it huge again internationally (America aside) - the new album is a drastic change in direction and one I feel will prove more of a success in Europe and beyond. It all depends on how much promotion they do next month when they start a Euro promo tour.

Take That shatter sales records http://img.thesun.co.uk/multimedia/archive/01164/Take-That-on-X-Fac_1164780a.jpg TRIUMPHANT TAKE THAT smashed sales records yesterday as new album Progress flew off shop shelves. The lads' first album with ROBBIE WILLIAMS in 16 years is the fastest-selling album of the century - shifting a whopping 235,000 copies. OASIS still hold the record for the biggest first day sales EVER - 350,000 for Be Here Now in 1997. However GARY BARLOW, HOWARD DONALD, MARK OWEN, JASON ORANGE and Rob's achievement is still monumental. Official Charts Company Managing Director Martin Talbot commented: "This is phenomenal achievement from an already phenomenally successful band." Between them, the man band and Robbie have sold over 80 million albums. They've performed in front of over 14.5 million people, won 19 BRIT Awards, five Ivor Novellos and scored 13 No1 albums as well as 17 No1 singles. The hugely-anticipated Progress is Take That's first release as a quintet since their 1995 No1 Nobody Else. And it looks that it could eclipse the success of their last album, The Circus, which shifted one million copies in just 18 days two years ago. Take That Progress sales
Well a lot of the casual fans would likely buy both acts material separately too, and of course there would be quite a number of TT fans from the 90's who who also be big Robbie fans - but I think the core fanbases of both are quite different actually. Robbie built up his own audience after leaving TT - as someone who was at some of his very early gigs after he left TT to all throughout his career - I can tell you his audience progressed hugely and as well as becoming much larger it also became far more diverse. TT have also built up a fanbase as a four piece that is much bigger in terms of albums than it was in the 90's. It would make for an interesting survey to be done in HMV tbh  What is interesting is that when you look at the first day sales of both TT and Rob's fastest sellers they are roughly the same. The Circus sold 133K first day in 08 and Intensive Care sold 128K first day in 2005 - now they have collectively sold well over 100,000 more with Progress which will be without question the fastest selling album of the century. :D It's the same with touring really in terms of first day ticket sales in the UK - Rob's 06 tour shifted 600,000 tickets in day - TT's The Circus did over 700,000 first day - together they have achieved over 1.3M tickets sold in a day with 'Progress Live'.

Take That Progress sales
It's possible because what we have here in a combination (in terms of album sales) of the UK's biggest band and the UK's biggest male - both fanbases combined plus due to the insane hype by the media - many curious casual listeners too. It is a unique situation and I expected it to be huge but not this huge.

Album sales Progress - Fastest seling album of the century!
Sales are truly MIND-BLOWING - 235,000 copies in a single day. :o :o :o :o :o :o :o This is utterly astonishing - and beyond any expectations. :o :o :o :o It is now entirely possible that they will end up selling over 700,000 copies by Sunday beating Oasis's Be Here Now as the fastest selling album in the history of music. :o :o :o :o :o :o This is what you get when you combine the UK's Biggest Band with the UK's Biggest Male - it is truly remarkable. :D http://www.musicweek.com/story.asp?section...1043316&c=1

Take That Progress sales
Well it depends - a lot of time if you triple the first day sales it is in around the end of the week figure. With 'The Circus' it was a little over three times the first day sales - with RKTVS last year for example it was slightly under three times the first day figure. So it IS possible 'Progress' will sell OVER 700,000 copies this week beating Oasis. :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o
