  1. And I see on another forum some people were wondering if Westlife had sold more than TT - well yes they actually have. Well albums anyway - TT have sold more singles. When TT split up in 96 - prior to the release of their 96 Greatest Hits album - they had sold 10M singles and 9M albums worldwide - then in 2005 with the release of their second Hits collection it was claimed they had sold 25M records (singles + albums) - considering the GH (96) sold between 3-3.5m worldwide and How Deep Is Your Love was a huge seller - with nearly 1M globally - so when you add both of those plus all the back catalog sales for the other albums and singles from 96-2005 - then the 25M records makes sense. Since then TT have sold roughly 8.5M albums worldwide with the 4 releases since 05 - bringing their total album sales to near 22M - singles wise they have sold around 14M worldwide - so altogether in total TT have roughly 36M records worldwide. It's interesting that both bands have been active for the same amount of time - 10-11 years. Westlife have released more albums though - their sales are based on 10 compared to TT's 7 (8 now with Progress) Considering Westlife's sales are decreasing with each album - TT could overtake them in terms of 'records sold' with another couple of albums. Progress and it's singles could possible clear 4M in total - plus then of course they will likely release a third Greatest Hits album for next Xmas - or possibly another studio album - either way it won't take many more albums before they overtake Westlife - even if their 45M figure is correct which it isn't!
  2. I have just seen claims that Robbie MIMED on the XF last night  How thick are some people? Robbie has not mimed to a song since TOTP back in the 90's when they made people mime. He is the last artist who whould mime - it would make no sense considering his style. He ad libs so much and is far too spontaneous for miming to work.
  3. I'd estimate Blandlife's album sales to be between 27-28M albums worldwide. Their last album did not even shift 1M globally. They have sold well with singles - mainly in the UK with around 6.3M sold as of March of this year. So globa album sales + UK Single sales at the most around 34-35M? So I suppose an extra 5M singles sales internaitonally is likely but 10-11M? No chance. They were on 40M album sales last year on the XF - It went up by a little over a million with the album + single from last year - plus back catalog sale s- 1.5M is fair - but no way has they jumped to 45M records sold. Only the other day 43M was claimed - so rounding it off to the nearest 5 I see. The 40-45M figure is often claimed for be albums alone but it is actually albums+ singles.

While true usually - for very established album acts such as Robbie and TT - who have consistently brilliant first week sales I think past sales are very relevant. And btw Amazon has announced that the demand for 'Progress' is more than any previous album by TT or by Robbie. So 200K prediction is rather silly.

I said STUDIO album Charis (ie. Reality Killed The Video Star). TT's last album was their live album which btw sold more than Westlife's studio album last year - and Robbie's last album was his GH album - his 9th #1 - and the third fastest seller of the year. It's amazing that a second GH collection would sell more than big studio releases from everyone else this year (KOL and Eminem aside) especially the likes of Cheryl, Kylie and Susan Boyle. And on the subject of fastest selling album Charis - Robbie has six albums in the top 35 fastest sellers in history in the UK - twice as many as his nearest rivals Oasis and Coldplay who have three a piece. What do you predict for Westlife's first sales? Will they sell half of what JLS will sell do you think?

Last month MW gave sales of both Rob and Westlife's total since 2000. Rob was over 24% ahead at that stage but his sales would have increased now to around 13.5M. On a different note why did they not put up stats for TT's video? I know their video was longer than JLS or Westlife's anyway but they should have put stats in. Between them Robbie and TT have sold around 110M records worldwide - then of course 14.5M concert tickets, 18 UK#1 singles, 14 UK#1 albums (soon to be 15), 19 BRITS etc etc. <_<

You do realize that TT's last studio album sold over 420K first week and Robbie's last studio album sold near 240,000 first week? Quite how you come to the conclusion that with both fanbases combined it will end up selling significantly less than both separately is beyond me. Perhaps you are confused and are actually predicting the end of year sales for Westlife's new album with that 200K figure? And before someone mentions the single underperforming - both Robbie and TT are album sellers first and foremost and both have a long history of selling by the truck load first week and beyond with albums.

450,000 first week :D Sales before the end of the year of between 1.2-1.3M. :D Total sales will eventually pass 2M in the UK especially on the back of such a massive tour.
  9. I am sure he recorded it in full. I agree his version sounded really great - I loved his vocal on it. It should have been released as a B-side or something IMO. I really want to hear Rob's version in full. What is your verdict on the documentary overall then? :smoke:
  10. Getting to #1 is not out of the question base don the current Itunes chart - it is catching up with JLS's single although I think once the album is released later today the sales will tail off. http://img193.imageshack.us/img193/4593/itunesuk201011150015.jpg
  11. Considering that it was on after the XF which got 15M - to only peak at 5M is disappointing. Although to be fair doesn't the Xtra Factor on ITV2 get a lot of viewers? It clashed with that. Considering it is repeated right now I think when combined it will easily overtake the Girls Aloud figure. Elt always looks like a fool in his tracksuit. He is aging badly though facially.
  12. Why were no TT stats put up on their VT? I know it was by far the longest of the three bands but and putting all the facts up as well would have taken forever - but really when nonsense such as Westlife selling 45M albums is claimed - when that figure is only for singles included - then I feel it should have been said that between them Robbie and TT have sold in excess of 100M albums and singles between them. It should have said that, plus the 18 #1's - 14M tickets, 9000 BRITS etc etc. :smoke:
  13. Thanks - so there wasn't much edited out on the ITV version then? It was 90 minutes including adverts. Yep Jups it is all in black and white :D
  14. I agree with what you are saying overall but I am surprised you detested Robbie a few years ago as I remember you used to say you were a big fan of him, especially prior to TT becoming huge again? I didn't notice anyone who looked like Neil - must watch it again. I hope Neil and Gary Nuttell appear on the TT tour during Rob's solo section - Hearing either Angels without Gary doing the solo or Come Undone without Neil on guitar would be very wrong imo. -_-
  15. Kidz was rumored and is most likely. Either way second single will almost certainly be a Mark Owen lead - between Kidz and SOS - either would be fine by me although I think Kidz would do better :D

I assume you mean they meant the best selling act in Britain of the decade? :P If so, then yes, that is what they meant. Globally they are nowhere close to the best selling band of the decade. They are not even in the top 30 best sellers of the decade worldwide. Eminem is #1 with near 80M, Britney #2 with over 50M and Robbie #3 with over 45M. The Beatles are the best selling band of the decade globally followed by U2, Coldplay and Linkin Park who are all very close.
  17. The Flood is zooming up the Itunes charts - back at #2 now - and is catching up with JLS :o Last week sales are in and it sold 69,484 :o HUGELY disappointing - LESS COPIES SOLD THAN SHAME :puke: :o The public should be banned from buying singles :smoke:

My pop bars are all over the place - but JLS's lead is not that much bigger than TT now :o
  19. The Flood is a billion lightyears better than 'Greatest Day' Rule The World is a totally different matter but Greatest Day is the pure definition of average when compared to either song. RTW is my fave though. TT and their management were fools to release the single last week - once they perform it live sales increase hugely. Very annoying really.

Robbie is #1 by 3 or 4 million ahead of Westlife. Westlife are the best selling band in the UK of the decade but not artist like it was claimed. As for this nonsense about Westlife selling 45M albums - it infuriates me. It is total bull$h!t of the highest order. Only the other day 43M was claimed - so does this mean they have sold 2M copies of their new album on pre-orders alone a week before it's release? The 43M figure is constantly being claimed to be albums but the reality is - it is for 'records' - singles + albums. Westlife have sold less than 30M albums - but this is never reported. The inflated sales is really astonishing - and the rapid increase with each album is also laughable. There are still people that believe Louis and Simon's claims that 'Coast to Coast' sold over 12M and World Of Our Own sold 10M - facts are they have not even sold 10M when combined
  21. And so it begins      Of course there will be people slagging him off as always around the net but why on earth is this a story? Bet the Metro had the bulk of it written and ready to go before they even performed. <_<
  22. I know. Insane decision but at least it was made by the public. I am sure there will still be talk of a fix though considering Aiden is NEVER bottom 2 and Katie is ALWAYS bottom two. -_- Yeah Rob was deffo a lot louder than the others on the chorus as well, although with the verses he was a little shouty due to nerves although that delivery actually suited the song I think :D
  23. I have to say it was only when I replayed it during the adverts that I was able to enjoy it. When watching it live I was bloody nervous for Rob. He seemed a little shaky to begin with and you could tell how nervous he was but as the song progressed and the others joined in he relaxed and it turned into a very good performance I though. A little too much standing at the mics for half though imo. But overall it was full of energy and a highly enjoyable performance. Not sure if I think Rob fitted into though but he was nervous and was concentrating on not forgetting lyrics no doubt so no surprise - it was MILES better than JLS and Westlife and should sell a lot of copies for the remainder of tonight I should think before the album is out tomorrow. :D
  24. It enters the UK chart at #2 tbw. Looking forward to sales. :D Thought it was awkward when Dermot asked if the single was released tomorrow and Gary said "no it was released last week"
  25. NO discussion about the big massive XF performance? :o I have to say it was only when I replayed it during the adverts that I was able to enjoy it. When watching it live I was bloody nervous for Rob. He seemed a little shaky to begin with and you could tell how nervous he was but as the song progressed and the others joined in he relaxed and it turned into a very good performance I though.
