Robbie & all things Take That
TT will easily win in the albums. In fact I think they will sell twice as much as JLS. Singles is different. Have not heard JLS's new single but if it is the CIN song it may beat The Flood. Isnt the Outstanding Contribution To Music' Award at next years BRITS due to be announced soon? I bet TT get it. How odd if that happens - Rob up there two years in a row

Best new song from IAOOC?
Dogs and Birds. I just adore this track. Not sure what it is about it but I can't stop listening to it  lOU2QyjsmcI

Robbie & all things Take That
JLS: 'We won't beat Take That' Tuesday, October 12 2010, 12:03 BST By Robert Copsey, Music Reporter JLS have admitted that their chances of beating Take That for a number one album are "slim". The group, who release their sophomore LP Outta This World the same week as Take That's Progress next month, said that they are likely to lose the chart battle because they are still building their fanbase. "Our chances of beating the mighty Take That are slim," JB told MTV. "They've been working for 20 years as a group and individually. Robbie Williams's fanbase in itself is staggering, and obviously Take That are selling out stadiums on tour, and doing 20-odd stadium dates around the country, and that's incredible. "We're about to do our first arena tour so you can see the stark contrast between the two, but for us, it's not about the competition it's about the contribution." He continued: "But obviously we're always hopeful for a number one, and as my mum always says to me and the boys, 'If you want to be the best you have to beat the best'." Marvin Humes added that it felt "crazy" going up against Take That, admitting: "I used to go to my nan's house and my auntie used to come home and she was crazy about Take That, especially Mark Owen." source:"http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/music/ne...take-that.html

Robbie readies his Swing
Even though I don't want another Swing album and especially an album of songs from Musicals (sounds way to Barry Manilow to me) it is nice to hear how the TT reunion has made him more enthusiastic about songwriting. Rudebox backlash sadly made him loose that (back then he said he planned to release 3 albums a year) so I would look forward to the future albums based on that. Obviously Rob has discussed another Swing album with Tim and David but I find it hard to believe when his writing his on fire at the moment why he would release an album of covers - basically songs not good enough to make it into the first one. Unless of course he will write original Swing songs (perhaps with Gary?) or do what Michael buble does and have a mix between covers and originals. Either way I really want to get this MW Robbie tribute and read Tim and David full comments - and also Guy, Steven and Trevor. 168 pages is a lot of info and with MW being so brilliant it is bound to be a fantastic read. So glad to see him acknowledged by such a credible magazine in the music business - I have never heard of them doing a tribute to any other artist. I suppose if he released the Swing album next Xmas it would coincide with the 10th Anniversary of SwingWYW. I can't see it being that soon though.

Robbie readies his Swing
From the Robbie book with MW thanks to Mikey :D Robbie readies his swing Music Week Robbie Williams’ co-managers Tim Clark and David Enthoven have revealed that the star is considering recording another swing album and one featuring songs from the musicals. The pair outline these potential future releases from Williams in a 168-page tribute magazine distributed with this week’s Music Week to mark his two decades in the industry. Robbie Williams – Celebrating 20 Years In Music 1990-2010 features new interviews with key people who have featured strongly in his career, including Clark and Enthoven, Jean-Francois Cecillon who signed Williams to EMI, his long-time A&R Chris Briggs, his one-time songwriting collaborators Guy Chambers and Stephen Duffy, his last studio album’s producer Trevor Horn, EMI UK president Andria Vidler and the major’s former UK chairman and CEO Tony Wadsworth. In the magazine Enthoven suggests the reunion with Gary Barlow, which produced their duet Shame and a return to the Take That fold for Williams, has “kind of re-energised him”. “He’s got his competitive boots on again,” he says. That renewed energy is also having a positive effect on his songwriting, according to Clark. “Robbie has regained his enthusiasm for songwriting; that’s the great thing,” he says. “It’s the thing that he’s always enjoyed but he’s really got his teeth back into it. So from that point of view there will be more albums. We hope that at some point there might be another swing album. He did the first one brilliantly well. Why not?” Williams’ first swing album, Swing When You’re Winning, spent seven weeks at number one on the OCC chart between December 2001 and the following January and was 2001’s second-biggest seller. Enthoven reveals Williams also has the idea for a “songs from the shows” album on his computer. “As for us,” Clark interjects, “David and I could see ourselves continuing until we’re led out to grass.” The publication of the tribute magazine ties in with the release today (Monday) by Virgin of the double-set retrospective In And Out Of Consciousness: the Greatest Hits 1990-2010, the last album in his current EMI deal. The album’s lead-off single Shame was last week competing with Warner Bros’s Cee-Lo Green release F**k You in one of the biggest battles of the year for the number one spot.

Book - RW Celebrating 20 Years In Music
Oh wow cheers for the info Mikey. Do you have the book yourself? It's not his new official book 'You Know Me' is it? :o What does it contain? Is it mainly pictures or is there lots of info regarding his chart career etc. MW do brilliant write ups so I would love to have it. I am not sure if that would be available here in Ireland. We don't have WHSmith. :(

In And Out Of Consciousness: 1990-2010
His sales are even more amazing than I first thought. Apart from Eminem's album 'Relapse' released earlier this year selling 49K first day - there is no other album so far in 2010 to sell as much as Rob has sold first day. In fact only two albums sold over 100K first week this year - Eminem being one with near 140K first day and Oasis Single Collection being the second with just over 100K. Rob is on course to sell more than Oasis to achieve the second fastest selling album of the year so far. For his second GH collection this is beyond impressive especially seeing the huge amount the first sold. He has now overtaken David Bowie for having the most #1 albums ever by a British solo artist. A great relief that he will be leaving his solo career (for the time being) on a high with a #1. :D

In And Out Of Consciousness: 1990-2010
From Music Week thanks to Mikey. Fantastic news. 'A dead cert' means he is well ahead and 41K first day are fantastic sales. It is possible he may even pass the 100K barrier by Sunday. :D :D :D

In And Out Of Consciousness: 1990-2010
Well I doubt it means too much to most of his fans tbh but personally due to being so interested in charts and sales I really want to see him go out with a #1 album before he rejoins TT. He was very unlucky with RKTVS missing the top spot last year and I am getting a bit sick of him getting to #2. Also it means he will have more #1 albums than any British male in history if he reaches 9. It isnt a huge big deal but it's been 4 years since his last #1 so it would be nice to see. Him getting #1's elsewhere it a given. It is fantastic but it always happens. RKTVS was #1 in Itunes in 18 or 19 countries. I can see the TT album getting to #1 in Germany at least if they do some promo.

October News
In terms of success his album was the first huge selling Swing album in decades. And after he did it, it was even acknowledged by the media that he made Swing cool again (in the UK anyway) and there were loads of artists that followed by trying to recreate his success. In most cases they failed hugely - Westlife's effort being the most laughable that comes to mind. He got a alot of younger people into Swing who would have know very little about it at the time and although you are correct that he was selling by the bucket load at that point anyway - in many ways it was a huge risk to release a Swing album. He had done three hugely successful Pop/Rock albums, and then ran the risk of totally alienating his fanbase (EMI didnt even want it included as one of the albums in the contract - but rather as an add-on) by releasing such a different type of music, but it become his best selling up to that point. It was a huge risk, possibly at the time even more so than Rudebox in 06 as a lot of his fans were younger overall at the time. I personally like Swing music, although had little time for it before Rob did it nearly a decade ago but since then I have bough several Rat Pack albums and listen to them from time to time. It is not my fave genre of music by any means but I enjoy listening to it the odd time. I like the vocal style more than anything elese as it really showcases vocal ability and range more so than pop does.

In And Out Of Consciousness: 1990-2010
Midweeks should be in, in a few hours time. Let's hope it indicates Rob is in line for his 9th UK #1 album. Currently the album is #2 and #3 on Itunes (therefor #1), #1 and #2 on Play, #1 and #15 on Amazon, #1 on Asda and #1 on HMV so it is looking good. Itunes: UK: #2 and #3 (therefor #1) Germany: #1 Austria: #1 Ireland: #1 Luxembourg: #1 Belgium: #2 Netherlands: #2 Switzerland: #4 Finland: #5 France: #6 Italy: #9 Denmark: #10

October News
I highly doubt this is true. Rob is now out of a contract and said he has no plans to be a solo artist for the foreseeable future so the chances of two albums by next Xmas is unlikely (although this is the second time The Sun has mentioned a solo record by next Xmas). Knowing Rob he will take another very long break after the TT tour. Although with him you never know what he will do next but somehow I cannot see another Swing album at this stage. He was complaining about having to write songs on RKTVS that were commercial etc so the chances of releasing a covers album again is unlikely at this stage anyway. Saying that I do think he will release a follow up to Swing When You're Winning at some point as he was brilliant at it and basically rejuvinated the Swing genre outside of America. And it is actually the best selling Swing album outside the US ever released with over 7.5M copies sold so from a commercial point of view it is a great idea but he would be covering old ground and basically singing left overs from the last one. I have always loved the idea of writing original songs for a Swing album with Guy though. 'I Will Talk and Hollywood Will Listen' is fantastic.

The singer played tracks from his new Greatest Hits album In & Out of Consciousness, which is due out this month, at the Alhambra concert hall in the French capital. "He is a super artist who has great talent and really gets the crowd going, I love Robbie Williams", one French fan said. Another one added: "What he has is inexplicable, I have adored him since I was young, I am just a huge fan." Williams has recently announced he will re-join his fellow bandmates from Take That. The five have recorded a new album, Progress, which is scheduled for a November release. He and fellow bandmate Gary Barlow have also just released a new single, Shame, which is their first collaborations in fifteen years. The track charted this week at number two. In And Out Of Consciousness: 1990-2010
If they promote it - I can see it doing very well in Europe and beyond. I bet they are going to perform it on the MTV EMA's on November 7th in Madrid, although maybe MTV will tell Rob to feck off considering he pulled out last minute last year. New TV Advert for IAOOC :D aJIASmtuz8M

In And Out Of Consciousness: 1990-2010
Three fantastic interviews with Rob. Some interesting points made especially regarding how terrible the 06 tour was for him and how he won't be touring again solo for a long time. Although I fully understand this I can't help be a little annoyed as to why he said as recently as December that there would defiantly be a solo tour before 2012. Anyway they are very good interviews. hvC2BVMCTAU 21iWQFwgr1M QD73JSSs6jA Plus the Daybreak interview from this morning and the performances :D cqwJQoDXgw8 wd1uX9eGXeo 8KcOLAxR30E

SINGLES RANK - In & Out Of Consciousness
We did a singles rate all the way back in 2006 so with the release of IAOOC it itime for another. The last SINGLES RATE/RANK was a big success with 30 members voting - the results can be seen HERE. Angels came first followed by Come Undone with Freedom and Something Stupid being the two most unpopular. Now we can 39 tracks to choose from will the most popular and least change? I doubt we willl get even half the amount of votes this time but it should still be interesting. So unlike the last Rate where we just ranked out Top 20 singles - this time you have to rank all 39 tracks from the album with the 1st Track being your Fave (39 points) and the last being your least fave (1 point). Here is the tracklistings. Vote away. :yahoo: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/fa/RW_In_and_Out_of_Consciousness_2010.jpg Shame - Robbie Williams And Gary Barlow Heart And I You Know Me Bodies Morning Sun She's Madonna - Robbie Williams and Pet Shop Boys Lovelight Rudebox Sin Sin Sin Advertising Space Make Me Pure Tripping Misunderstood Radio Sexed Up Something Beautiful Come Undone Feel Mr Bojangles I Will Talk And Hollywood Will Listen Somethin' Stupid - Robbie Williams And Nicole Kidman The Road To Mandalay Eternity Let Love Be Your Energy Supreme Kids - Robbie Williams And Kylie Minogue Rock DJ It's Only Us She's The One Strong No Regrets Millennium Let Me Entertain You Angels South Of The Border Lazy Days Old Before I Die Freedom Everything Changes - Take That

Reality Killed The Video Star - Charts/Sales
Cheers Mikey. Nice to get an up to date figure. I wish he had not have moved on from RKTVS so quickly. It didnt sell to it's full potential tbh but I am still very pleased the the sales. It will hit the million point at some stage, although tbh the official press release for the new Greatest Hits album claim it has sold over 1M in the UK. Anyway the album must be near or over the 3M point Worldwide which I am very pleased at in this climate. The new GH should clear 2.5M bringing him over the 60M point globally :D

'Shame' - Robbie and Gary duet
As do I usually but at this stage I am getting a bit sick of Rob just missing #1. The stress of chart battles gets annoying especially for albums. If this is his last album for what could very well but another 3 years (considering he will likely take a break after the TT tour - I bet a TT GH will be released next Xmas) I want him to complete this stage of his career with his 9th #1 album overtaking David Bowie to have the most #1's by a UK male in history. ^_^ Anyway to Quote The MW report with thanks to Mikey. That is incorrect. They have both had 13 #1's as part of TT and as Solo artists. They discussed this fact in an interview the other day and I did a quick check and Rob featured on 7 of the TT #1's and then had 6 solo #1's. Gary featured on 11 TT #1's and 2 Solo. And you could also add in 'Everybody Hurts' for both and 'Do They Know It's Xmas for Rob technically too :P Anyway decent sales for Shame - around what I expected. It did well to sell so much tbh. I expect a quick drop now though... -_-

In And Out Of Consciousness: 1990-2010
Luckily I had my NTL+ box upstairs set on BBC by mistake and had forgotten to turn it off last night so I just had to rewind it and saw Rock DJ. Fan-bloody-tastic. I didnt think I'd ever see him perform like that again - it was like a recreation of the video itself minus the stripping and throwing flesh :P It was so much fun to watch him do those hilarious dance moves and take the p*** out of himself. That's what I missed with the RKTVS promo - he seems much more himself this year. Even compared to his excellent but slightly stiff BRITS performance - the nerves are quickly going and he looks to be enjoying himself much more. The contrast between that and Shame last week is amazing really - shows his diversity and it was very enjoyable. So glad he didnt sing Feel. Where did that rumor come from? Maybe he sang it as well to warm up? He had the crowd going mad with Rock DJ though - the energy so fantastic.
