  2. Poor Jups :( Perhaps voting for your top 30 fave male artists (including lead singers of bands) would cheer you up when you have time :P http://www.buzzjack.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=115406
  3. Very exciing - U2 have rehearsed two brand new songs - one a rocky track with a Led Zep sound to it and the other a slow number. Listen to them here QsPBx58-iAw jcxsi0JJYgI And also according to rumours 'Beautiful Day will open the gig and other songs rehearsed include ) Beautiful Day 2) In A Little While 3) Crazy Tonight/ Discotheque 4) Miss Sarajevo 5) Until the End of the World 6) Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me :cheer: AND Tryin' To Throw Your Arms Around the World AND, Gloria :o atu2
  4. Yeah no live performance of it sadly. Some great lyrics though. My fave lines being :drink: Oh, the words I have repressed Are coming out today I guess It is justice not respect I'm after And that just leaves contempt
  5. I demand a ranking :smoke: Mine is: 1. Angels 2. Lazy Days 3. LMEY 4. Old 5. South
  6. Yes I am in the mood for making polls  Seeing as the new GH is coming out with every single on it I thought we could vote for the best single from each album then all of the winner can go up against eachother. First it's LTAL :smoke: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/8/8d/Ltal.jpg/200px-Ltal.jpg Some great live performances of the five singles. OBID (Koln) gsAuv4mGSJc Lazy Days (Slane) YR0tGi2LnLc South 4GKpvsnqpzA Angels (Glasto) 83dJ6cq6lB4 LMEY (Leeds) IgXfjOMusUo
  7. VERY hard decision imo - love both but APTC just edges it for me
  8. Havent done this since 2008 but just remembered about this game and thought I'd bump it. Last poll was APTC Vs Phoenix From The Flames with APTC winning by one vote. APTC has now won for a third time - so now it's up against Bodies. Vote ^_^ Soundclash History #01: Let Me Entertain You/Rock DJ [both 6 votes] #02: Let Me Entertain You [10 votes] #03: Tripping [6 votes] #04 - Road To Mandalay [6 votes] #05 - Road to Mandalay [10 votes] #06 - Road To Mandalay [12 votes] #07 - Kids [8 votes] #08 - Sin Sin Sin [8 votes] #09 - Eternity [8 votes] #10 - Eternity [6 votes] #11 - Strong [10 votes] #12 - Strong [10 votes] #13 - Supreme [10 votes] #14 - Supreme [8 Votes] #15 - Supreme [11 Votes] #16 - Supreme [8 Votes] #17 - Ego A Go Go [5 votes] #18 - A Place To Crash[8 Votes] #19 - A Place To Crash [8 votes] #20 -A Place To Crash [6 Votes]
  9. http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/4/49/Reality_Killed_the_Video_Star.jpg/200px-Reality_Killed_the_Video_Star.jpg VS http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/thumb/5/57/Robbie_intensivecare.jpg/200px-Robbie_intensivecare.jpg Thought it would be interesting to compare these two albums - they are obviously very different to eachother in many ways but quite similar as well especially when comparing each of them to Rudebox. So which album do you prefer? Vote and then compare the tracks seeing as they both have the same amount (although obviously the brilliant bonus track Arizona had to be left off). Both serious albums although in different ways - IC is alot more guitar driven while RKTVS is more on the electro side especially with Bodies, Weirdos and Disco (and obviously Arizona). Morning Sun Vs Ghosts Bodies Vs Tripping You Know Me Vs Make Me Pure Blasphemy Vs Spread Your Wings Do You Mind? Vs Advertising Space Last Days Of Disco Vs Please Don't Die Somewhere Vs Your Gay Friend Deceptacon Vs Sin Sin Sin Starstruck Vs Random Acts Of Kindness Difficult For Weirdos Vs The Trouble With Me Superblind Vs A Place To Crash Won't Do That Vs King Of Bloke And Bird For me: Ghosts Tripping MMP Blasphemy Advertising Space Disco Somewhere Deceptacon Random Difficult APTC King Of Bloke IC - 7 RKTVS - 5 Very suprising really - I prefer RKTVS overall as an album but obviously when each track is compared like that IC wins  I was only listening to IC for the firs time in ages the other day - I had almost forgot what a cracking album it is - such brilliant lyrics (Random Acts in particular)and vocals and the production is excellent - an excellent complete album - and as Neil McCormick said it is like a complete piece of work by a singer-songwriter as oppose to a pop albums with 3 or 4 big singles and the rest filler. RKTVS is the same in many ways tbh. Some of the tracks were really close - especially the lead single Tripping and Bodies - both very differnt styles to the rest of the respective albums but I love them both and tbh tomorrow I'd prob pick Bodies as I love it more and more and it is stuck in my head more now than ever. But Trippin wins today otherwise it wouldve been a tie. :smoke:

  11. Great news :cheer: Looking forward to seeing him headline - I presume he will get 15-20 minutes as that is pretty standard for the big acts at these charity events - although seeing as he is headlining he may get longer. What I am dissapointed though is that is being produced by Live Nation which is what reports meant when they said Rob had commitments with Live Nation therefor ruling out a one off Greatest Hits gig. -_- On another note would someone tell him to get rid of that comb over - it adds a good 10 years on and aint very pop star-ish
  12. Eugh what a load utter tosh  The audience in all three clips would be better off forking out on a trip to Vegas if it was cheese to the extreme they were after - at least then they would be guaranteed a bit of bloody quality and would get a slap up meal thrown in as well  I truly do despair of Rob's stupidity sometimes - to go from what was essentially the pinnacle of massive scale performances in terms of having the unique ability among pop stars to be able to hold a crowd in the palm of his hands and make them have to time of their life for 2 hours solely due to his own talent as a performer without the need for all the endless crap/distractions that virtually all other pop acts these days HAVE to use(because most of them would quite simply fall flat on their arses and bore the audience to tears otherwise without having a Vegas like 'show' surrounding them) with the legendary Knebworth gig back to doing beyond naff and extremely outdated dance routines in the most un-individualistic and generic manner possibly imaginable for pop acts. Virtually anyone as long as they were fit enough could 'dance' to that quality and also (with a bucket load of money and a creative team) could build a show around themselves - but after a certain age it aint really about if you can do it - because it IS and DOES look ridiculous - although tbh I've always found boyband dance routines the pure definition of ridiculous and cringeworthy. In a way I have to admire Westlife and their stool sitting ways - they obviously took the time to watch back a few of the performances and it dawned on them how bloody $h!t it is or perhaps Louis Walsh broke the news in his usual blunt manner. Rob can get as fit as is humanly possible but the fact is the matter is he is going to look like a complete fool to being virtually one of the very few pop stars on the planet capable of selling out stadiums across the globe on the same level as U2, Madge and The Stones to going back to choreographed nonsense designed for someone half his age - if he was in his 20s and was actually a talented dancer like Usher it would be somewhat acceptable but really and truly he is just going to make himself a laughing stock. Will be refreshing to see him put a lot of energy into performances again though as since the comeback he hasnt been the performer he once was whatsoever - we saw glimpses of the old Robbie but sadly he appeared to think the public wanted him to be like Gary as was evident from the lack of energy and the bloody M&S cardigans - since re-joining with the lads I see he looks more like he used to what with the muscle shirt similar to the EMI deal back in 2002 - so perhaps if this does anything it will give him the spark and enthusiasm back for live performing in the same manner as 3 years ago. I could almost bare it then - but if it means when he does go back to his solo career all we as solo fans have to look forward to is MOR solo albums co-written with Gary Barlow with the two of them in matching cardigans then thanks but no thanks but I'll be sticking to the old albums

  14. Afternoon :smoke: Yep all his films are brilliant - both Batman films especially the Dark Knight are amazing and of course Memento and Insomnia with Pacino and Robin Williams which is on tonight on BBC :drink: Edit - bloody connection is taking ages - Hi Flatty :D Bye Jups
  15. Glad you enjoyed it Jups - a cracking film  Chris Nolan really is the best director of his generation and Leo is prob the best actor of his along with Bale, Damon and a few others. Nolan has a habit of making films I want to see again right away - the perfect example is the amazing 'The Prestige'
  16. Hmm I still find it very hard to believe there will be a £100M deal or even half that amount. Record sales are so p*** poor these days that the only way a record company would agree to that is if they get a large % of touring profits. Rob would need to do at least 3 huge world tours over the next 10 years - and I doubt that will happen. The only huge record deals in recent years have been Madonna and U2's with Live Nation - both worth over £100M and with U2 they have to do 3 world tours (the first one is the current 360 tour) and release 4 albums - but in reality the reason it is worth so much is due to the touring and not the albums. Oh well as long as he signs a deal with a better record company then EMI and we are then assured he will be releasing x amount of albums of the next decade I will be happy. So a new solo album by next Xmas? Sounds good to me :smoke:
  17. http://img30.imageshack.us/img30/3203/promogh2010.jpg He’s the one THE £100million bidding war for ROBBIE WILLIAMS is hotting up - with the RCA label pulling out all the stops to sign him. Rob inked an £80million agreement with EMI in 2002, but with the release of his Greatest Hits collection later in the year he will have fulfilled all his obligations. And now the Sony stable, which is home to SHAKIRA and JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, want the solo star on board. They recently appointed CHRIS BRIGGS, one of his closest industry chums, to an executive role. The A&R veteran rescued Robbie's career from failure in its early days. A string of underperforming singles saw the singer on the brink of being dropped. But then Briggs put Rob in contact with songwriter GUY CHAMBERS and the pair came up with a string of hits which included the career-saving Angels. An industry source said: "RCA have played a blinder by getting Chris on board. "He's one of the most significant figures in Robbie's life and it's sure to influence his decision whether he signs with them." RCA have made another canny move - they've signed Oz singer SIA, a gesture that will please Robbie's management who also represent her. Also looking to get him on the books are Universal, who count TAKE THAT as clients. But as the deal-makers wave their contracts at him, Rob is yet to make a decision about the future of his solo career. Still, he faces a busy 18 months. He's back with his old Take That bandmates for their tour next summer and immediately after that Rob will start recording sessions for his next solo album which he hopes will be released by Christmas 2011. http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/showb...e-Williams.html via Gata at TRWS
  18. Good to see you Jups :cheer: Btw if you get the time go and see Inception - It's an amazing film - by a mile the most complex and satisfying blockbuster I've ever seen and I know you love Leo :smoke:
  19. Indeed - a very strong result for the album and Bodies was a big hit globally as well which was great to see. With just under 58M albums sold now, the new GH should easily bring him over the 60M mark. ^_^
  20. It's hardly a cash in - it is standard for a GH package to be released at the end of an extensive contract such as Rob's with EMI. This was announced all the way back in 2002 that there would be a second Hits collection so it's not being released out of the blue as a cash in. Besides he will surely be promoting the single 'Shame' with Gary and no doubt singing a few of the other songs on TV shows. I can't see too much promo but considering a few of the recent articles mentioned he had commitments with Live Nation it leads me to believe there will be a one off show, quite likely to be in a large venue (as I doubt Live Nation would have anything to do with a TV special in a ITV/BBC studios afterall they only deal with big events) such as the O2 in London. His managment also said they had something special lined up to promote the album before all the TT stuff begins. Although tbh a one off Greatest Hits gig broadcast primetime on ITV after the XF on a Saturday night would be the perfect form of promo for the GH album and make total sense. Total sense and EMI simply do not go together so it is unlikely to be true  We can only hope though - it would be ridiculous to not do, if not a tour, at least a one off gig to celebrate 20 years in the business before taking the year off as a solo artist and god knows how much longer after that. He will prob be sick of being a pop star by the end of the TT tour and take another 3 years off and start a family - who knows? Let's just hope he signs a new contract with someone, even if EMI (hopefully not though - Universal is perfect) so we can look forward to a new solo album at some stage in the near future.
  21. I agree - a load of utter rubbish to say the least. To break the US would involve a huge amount of work and going back to basics and playing very small venues and do endless radio appeances all over the US - year would have to be put aside - why would any of them bother at their age? Utterly pointless considering. Definatly made up crap as it is in the NOTW. TT had BFG as a hit (althoguh I doubt it is still played on radio or remembered as they were never established) and Rob has sold over 1 million albums over there but that was all a long time ago. America moved past boybands a long long time ago so a bunch of men in their mid 30s-40s would not go down well at all. Totally made up to over hype this already ridiculously over-hyped reunion. But the media in the UK do think TT as being up there with the Beatles in terms of both success and quality. It's all part of the hype  And what is Rob like getting into the no doubt cold water. Typical
  22. Love every track on here apart from the good but not great 'Lord Don't Sow Me Down' and the awful Shakermaker. Live Forever wins though - their masterpiece imo. Don't Look Back In Anger and Cigarettes & Alcohol follow.
  23. So difficult to choose - but went with Whatever in the end - love 'Idle' alsmost as much though and think it is by far their strongest single since the glory days of the 90's. Most of these are cracking tunes though -D' You Know What I Mean is a gem imo.
  24. I didnt think we woudl get this this year considering it is now late July  Glad to see RKTVS almost making the top 20 despite only being out a month and a half. Obviously he, along with everyone would higher (16th) if it wasnt for all the MJ albums due to his death. And of course those silly Twlilight soundtracks which are not even proper albums  Madge sold 2.4M and is a place behind Rob so as we already knew RKTVS was on 2.5M as of the end of last year. Let's hope someone on ukmix is able to estimate all albums shortly.
