  2. I didn't expect a tour this year, but I now I am not too sure - I think it is likely there will be a small (ish) arena tour , perhaps a string of O2 dates to coincide with the 'Greatest Hits 2' - and then a possible stadium tour (with at least half the amount of dates than 2006) for next summer. I understand he doesnt want to tour - I wouldnt want to if I had his money and after the last one, but I do think if Ayda was there with him and it was planned MUCH better than the last one - he would actually enjoy it. I am still wondering if there is another tour as part of the contract though - afterall if there isnt - why is it even being mentioned if he doesnt want to do it?
  3. Easily pleased fans? Says someone who cites the MOR bland-fest that is 'Beautiful World' as one of the best albums they have heard. Talk about being easily pleased. I can only assume you havent heard an awful lot of albums, in which case I'd strongly advise you invest your time more wisely and listen to some different music instead of wasting your time of obsessing over someone who you don't even like - afterall at this stage I think you have achieved the unthinkable Norma and overtaken TT themselves in terms of predictability. :P I hear they are going to attempt to try something different with the next record though (although let's be honest - it will still bore the pants of most people, as they really don't quite grasp what the word 'risk' means, bless em. .. it will still be aimed at the Tesco shoppers in the most obvious of ways  ) so perhaps you should follow suit with a change and stop harping on about Robbie 24/7 - or at least get some new material - it's becoming (almost) as repetitive as that timeless music (and of course not forgetting 'those' lyrics) masterpiece 'Greatest Day'
  4. Indeed I do  I loved it, but then again I loved almost every film Scorsese has ever made :P Dicaprio gave one of the best performances of his career - and I loved Ben Kingsly in it. 'The Departed' aside I would say it is the best film he and Scorsese have made togeher :D Yeah, Tom Petty is criminally underrated over here - he is huge in the US. His performance at the Superbowl Halftime a few years ago was great  His GH has to be one of the best driving albums there is. Free Fallin, Won't Back Down, American Girl, Learning To Fly, Something In The Air, Refugee and my fave - Running Down A Dream
  5. ^ I know - it is beyond a joke, can ANY Robbie release go smoothly? I think not - there is always some problem - it's pathetic tbh. At least MS is #20 on Itunes now - if only he had some promotion planned for this week but there will be no more until the autumn for the GH album.
  6.   Evening :smoke: Just been listening to Tom Petty's Greatest Hits - such feel-good songs  Have you seen Shutter Island yet Jups? :o
  7. :o Seriously? I know I said I don't care but I am really glad to hear that - hopefully it gets higher than SSS got as it is far superior, as Tess will testify to :P

Well I was refering to the 50/50 of positive/negetive reviews on Rotten Tomatoes - so very mixed my critics overall but obviously that is the US, and with any film about Iraq - it is going to divide people (with the exception of The Hurt Locker which was very pro-American and the war, unlike the vast majority of Iraq films thus far). Although saying that I have heard some mixed reviews from around forums as well, but I will be seeing it on Sunday so I am looking forward to making up my own mind. It has to be said though, it will be remembered as a massive flop. $130M budget but only $14m opening? Surely they should know by now films about Iraq always do badly so why spend such a huge amount? This article details the negetivity http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/the_big_pi...-universal.html No, there was never a thread on here for 'The Hurt Locker' which I found odd seeing as it won best picture. Considering it bombed at thre Box Office though, it is no suprise as very few have even seen it. I bet the DVD sales will be very good though - they really shouldve re-released it in the cinema around the Oscar week.
  9. Saw it last night - really enjoyed it. It's hard to discuss it without giving anything away but I was hooked start to finish and DiCaprio gave one of the finest performances of his career by a mile - Ben Kingsly was excellent as well. Some of the critisizims ive heard focus on DiCaprio being mis-cast and the music being too dominant - both ridiculous imo - the music is brilliant and fitted it perfectly especially at the start when they were driving up to the prison. Very 'Cape Fear' in temrs of being OTT but it was perfect. The ending was a bit dissapointing in some ways but it was very well done so it didnt ruin the film by any means. Overall it was a cracking film and really deserves to be the massive hit it has become. 'The Departed' aside, my favourite Scorsese film since Casino.
  10. I enjoyed the performance of it tonight (especially the opening with 'Feel' ), hopefully it rises a few places and raised some more now. I don't get why they have made it so hard to get though - usually SR singles or most charity singles are wideley available and you see the singles all over the place, even in supermarkets with SR stickets on them. Download only for a Robbie single is just silly, especially as it is for charity. For some reason though I don't really care that it is flopping - it serves him right for showing more interest in recording with TT than promoting his own single for charity. He obviously would've been told last week how badly it was doing and had all this week to promote it but nothing apart from tonight. I know he didnt want MS as a single but it is still annoying to do no work promoting it. -_-

  12. 2.4 Million people applied for tickets to the gig :o :o :o Talk about demand for a tour. He is just wasting his energy with all of these tiny gigs  Apparently he did say last night that there will be a tour though. The question is when
  13. All going well? I assume you are being sarcastic? :P This has already made headlines saying how it has bombed etc. On gigwise they mentioned it is the first SR single to miss the top 5. <_< And they also had a poll to ask people if they had bought it and an astonishng 100% of people were not even aware it was out. There is huge confusion around the Robbie forums as to whether it is indeed released yet, especailly physically. Apparently Amazon only have 4 copies in stock. You couldnt make it up. Some fans have had to buy it from the German Amazon in order to get the physical cd along with the B-side. It is simply ridiculous and makes no sence. Robbie should've been doing a promo tour for this single seeing as it is for SR, but instead he is apparently with TT recording an album. The whole thing is very annoying to say the least. MS does not deserve to be his worst charting single ever as it is is a great song, but simply is not commercial enough. It doesnt even have a chorus - so I don't know why SR picked it as the single when Robbie had been saying for months that he wanted Starstruck - which made sence seeing as an uptempo song is what was needed after YKM. I just hope after his performance on SR on Friday and a proper physical release it rised to the top 40 at least. The only good news is that the album has recieved a 50%+ increase in sales despite falling one place to 23 - ocver 14,000 sold this week - total now just under 860,000.
  14. Robbie Williams wasn't being such a dope about drugs after all Perhaps Robbie Williams has hit upon the best way to deter teenagers from taking drugs, says Gill Hornby. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/comment/columni...-after-all.html The Telegraph Published: 4:01PM GMT 12 Mar 2010 Robbie Williams is up to his old tricks. His comments that cannabis is a "lovely drug" have been slammed by anti-drug campaigners as "disgusting" and "irresponsible." Of course, it's mighty unhelpful of these role models to pop up and apparently actively encourage their followers to pursue any sort of bad habit. Especially, in Williams' case, at the very moment when his song has been chosen as the official track by the wholesome, health-conscious, all-round good-egg charity that is Sports Relief. His timing is, as ever, impeccable. But perhaps campaigners should not be condemning him too quickly. Indeed, within his message lies the perfect deterrent: "Did you see me last year? Have a look at last year. Yep. Year of the Munchie 2009." Yes, he says that "weed" is "lovely"; he also, more importantly, says it made him "FAT". Now there's a buzz word to get through to even the deafest young ear. It is all very well for health officials to warn about "psychoses" induced by cannabis, but, generally speaking, the sort of young people at risk of developing bad habits are not very interested in their long-term psychological health or a happy middle age. They may well, however, be obsessed with not being fat. Instead of working around this neurosis, perhaps we should pander to it with a series of health warnings: Smoking makes you FAT. Drugs make you FAT. Skiving makes you FAT. Knife crime makes you FAT. Using the wisdom of Dr R Williams, health expert, we could just raise a generation of fine, well-rounded (rather than round) people.
  15. Oh I agree, only fools would believe what is in the Mail but the fact is a huge amount of the public believe what is written in tabloids - there is a reason why tabloids sell more copies than broadsheets and it isnt just because they are cheaper.
  16. I've had a drink problem for ten years - but Robbie is helping me through it, says Take That love cheat Mark Owen Daily Mail Former alcoholic bandmate Williams helping him to get back on his feetAdmits he was a heavy cannabis user and still smokes jointsMark Owen has opened up about the slide towards alcoholism that has secretly plagued him for a decade. As he held crisis talks with wife Emma following revelations he'd cheated on her with ten women, the Take That star, 38, admitted his battle with the bottle had caused him to be 'a prat'. He told of a drinking problem that took hold when he moved to the Lake District when the boy band split in the 90s, but said he wasn't blaming alcohol for causing his philandering. I am not using the drink as an excuse,' he told The Sun. 'I've been living with the guilt. Maybe the drink was my way of dealing with the guilt, I don't know... it hasn't helped, but I'm not blaming everything on it. 'His 33-year-old wife had demanded he get help, and Owen has sought professional therapy as well as the support of his bandmates Gary Barlow, Howard Donald and Jason Orange. Former Take That singer Robbie Williams, no stranger himself to alcoholism, has also spoken to Owen. He said: 'I told the lads a few weeks ago that I am trying to deal with a drink problem. I spoke to Rob about it, too. I've always tried not to involve anyone else, including the boys. Maybe the lads might have suspected sometimes.' Glad to hear it is so good. I am suprised you gave it 10/10 though, as it has recieved some mixed reviews, whereas The Bourne Ultimatum was universally praised by critics. I am hoping it will be ALOT better than the overated 'Hurt Locker' though - I am asuming it is seeing as you were so impressed you made a thread for it, whereas I don't recall you even mentioning The Hurt Locker prior to the Oscar hype took over. :P I am really looking forward to seeing this though. Paul Greengrass is simply excellent and should direct the next Bond imo - he would surely be capable of rescueing it after the frankly appauling 'Quantum Of Solance' .What a week for films to look forward to - this and Shutter Island :D
  18. There is an alternative version of the video which has been released - much better and more artisitc. Here it is along with some pics inlcuding one with Kylie who is looking great ^_^ T6-hUU2DuK8 http://img299.imageshack.us/img299/4075/vlcsnap2010030623h21m56.png http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/8301/vlcsnap2010030623h23m03.png http://img502.imageshack.us/img502/212/vlcsnap2010030623h20m23.png http://img18.imageshack.us/img18/6441/vlcsnap2010030623h20m17.png http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/7479/vlcsnap2010030623h26m21.png Thanks to Gata at TRWS
  19. Norma defending Robbie? :o  What annoys me about him saying stuff like this is that it is just giving ammunition to the tabloids to slag him off - and bad publicity is not what he needs. He has had more than enough of it over the past 4 years. He has a tendency to give the media so much material to work off which annoys me. And especailly with Sports Relief, making these comments is not exactly good timing. Here is the standard Daily Mail crap - the part that says the majority of his fans of teens made me LOL. Grossly irresponsible' Robbie Williams blasted after describing cannabis as 'lovely' during an interview Daily Mail By Liz Thomas http://i.dailymail.co.uk/i/pix/2010/03/09/article-0-0891C8FF000005DC-107_233x423.jpg Robbie Williams was yesterday accused of being 'grossly irresponsible' for encouraging his young fans to try cannabis after he described the illegal drug as 'lovely' during an interview. The controversial singer, who has battled addictions to cocaine and prescription drugs, said he was still smoking the illegal substance last year and claimed it was ‘a shame’ that it ‘did not mix well’ with him. But charities and campaign groups have reacted with fury at his comments and claim he is effectively promoting a Class B drug that has been linked to the development of mental illness and psychosis. The majority of the stars fans are in their teens and his new song Morning Sun has just been selected as the official Sport Relief song, which aims to raise money for disadvantaged people – many of whom will have been affected by drug abuse. In an interview in the Radio Times Williams told how the tendency to binge eat after smoking marijuana had caused the pounds to pile on. He said: ‘Have a look at [me] last year. Yep. Year of the Munchie 2009. ‘Weed, it’s such a lovely drug. It is such a lovely drug. But it doesn’t mix well with me – at all. ‘It doesn’t take much to trigger – I mean, I’ll get psychosis from having this cup of tea! Seriously. The caffeine in that is enough. A cup of tea will make me feel like s***. But it’s just a shame about weed, because I did love it.’ David Gilbert, chief executive of drugs education and awareness charity DARE, branded Williams comments ‘disgusting’. He said: ‘This is grossly irresponsible. He is a role model. Young people look up to him, they admire him, they want to emulate him so saying something like this is thoughtless. ‘His comments make it sound like he is promoting cannabis use – even though it is known that it is harmful and has links to mental illness. ‘In saying cannabis is a ‘lovely drug’ young people who had not previously tried it - may be tempted to – and others may believe that there are no ill effects.’ The National Drug Prevention Alliance warned that young people are trying the drug earlier than ever – around 12-15 years old now, and that people who smoke marijuana are more likely to try harder drugs such as cocaine and heroin. Chris Hudson, a nurse from drugs information service Frank said: ‘Cannabis messes with your mind - and reactions can be more powerful with stronger strains such as skunk, which is around twice as potent Mental health problems associated with using cannabis include paranoia, panic attacks and anxiety and depression. The risks increase the more you use it.’ Williams had to go to rehab for his drug and alcohol addictions – most recently in 2007. He made his musical comeback last year insisting he was drug free. Williams’ comments come just days after scientific research revealed that teenage cannabis smokers who carry on using the drug in adulthood are more likely to suffer from hallucinations or paranoid delusions. Earlier research commissioned by Department of Health found that even a single joint of cannabis raised the risk of schizophrenia by more than 40 per cent. The 2008 report also found taking the drug regularly more than doubles the risk of serious mental illness. Research completed by leading psychiatrist Professor Robin Murray in 2005 showed that those who smoked the drug regularly at 18 were 1.6 times more likely to suffer serious psychiatric problems, including schizophrenia, by their mid-20s. Brian Harvey East 17 star Brian Harvey was sacked after labelling ecstasy 'safe' For those who were regular users at 15, the stakes were even higher, with their risk of mental illness by the age of 26 being 4.5 times greater than normal. It is thought that, used during teenage years, the drug can cause permanent damage to the developing brain. Cannabis was declassified to a Class C drug in 2004 but in 2008, the then Home Secretary Jacqui Smith reclassified it to a class B drug, citing the rise of the ‘skunk’ form of the drug which is far stronger. She said at the time: ‘This powerful form of cannabis is an illegal and harmful drug. There is a compelling case for us to act now, rather than risk the future health of young people.’ However, others questioned the link, pointing out there has been little change in rates of schizophrenia in recent years despite the rise in cannabis use and the increasing strength of the drug. In 1997 Brian Harvey, lead singer of boyband East 17 was sacked after boasting of taking 12 ecstasy pills in a night and telling fans that the drug was ‘safe’. In a radio interview he said: ‘I think people genuinely like feeling like that. That's why they go out and that's why they do it. They don't do it just to say `We don't care if it's illegal, we're going to go out and do it all the more'. `If it brings out the better in someone - and really, in the long run, it's a safe pill and it ain't doing you no harm - I don't see the problem. I've done pills myself, I've done 12 in one night, you know what I mean - loads of them. I've been off it on them. The thing is, if you bang one, you go out, you have a good night and that's what people want to do.’ The band had been riding enjoying success in the charts with hits such as Stay Another Day and If You Ever and sold 20 million records worldwide. But after he made the comments MPs and health groups condemned the pop star as `irresponsible' and accused him of being a bad influence. The nation’s leader at the time John Major even raised the issue during Prime Minister's Questions. Harvey desperately tied to apologise saying he regretted what he had said and warning fans: ‘Never take ecstasy - it can kill you.’ It was not enough to save him and the three remaining members of the band – Tony Mortimer, Jon Hendy and Terry Coldwell opted to fire him because they ‘could not condone taking ecstasy or any other illegal substance.’ Mortimer quit months later and Harvey re-joined in 1998 but the band were dropped by their label just a year later. 21. Yeah I guess so. Two great films out this week - Green Zone and Shutter Island - can't wait :cheer: Night
  22. TT obviously. :P Sadly his idea of exciting is definatly not the same as ours. I don't get why it is happening at the end of the year though - he has the GH out then, I would've thought any album iwth TT would be next year.
  23. Ah, I see. That explains it better then. It's a shame really - I enjoyed the film for what it was due to the great performances, but it had potential to be brilliant - shame it wasnt considering Peter Jackson directed.
  24. I thought he was finished making silly remarks these days - he hasnt done it in ages. The negetive headlines will smorm in now - I am sure he knows that by now though. He does have a tendency to be unable to keep his mouth shut when it comes to controversial issues.
  25. Seriously? That is just silly, glad it wasnt in the film. Although I did think it was poorly done when the mother just left without any explanation and also - Susan Surrandon seemed totally out of place - it turned into a comedy for about 2 minutes for some reason. Also the ending was not satisfying especailly after such suspence in the house - although a friend of mine who had read the book said the ending if if a bit silly was still more satisfying than the book where he just vanished - what did you think?
