Robbie's Secret Show In Cologne
^ What fantastic news :o :D Can't wait till it appears on youtube :cheer: I suspect it will be the standard 45-1hr promo gig like the others. Would be good to have a gig in such a small location though - the smallest I can think of was Abbey Rd.

List of Greatest Actors Of All Time
I agree with you on those left out, especially Robert Mitchum - simply ridiculous. And looking at it more closley, Mel Gibson, Tom Cruise, Harrison Ford, John Travolta (as good as they are in certain roles) better than Gene Hackman, Spencer Tracey, Henry Fonda, Orson Wells and a load of others? However you can't seriously think Tom Hanks is a better actor than Brando? :o Surely that is like saying Oasis are better than The Beatles  Don't get me wrong, I am a big fan of Hanks, and would place him in my personal top 20, but he has nowhere near the range or versatility of Brando or alot of the actors below him. Granted Hanks is good at making his performances look pretty effortless, but he is not really the type of actor that is going to suprise you - I feel there is always a ceiling there with him, although his performances in 'Cast Away', Philadelphia', and 'Saving Private Ryan' were all great. Would you be more inclined to agree with the Channel 4 list? 1. Al Pacino 2. Robert De Niro 3. Tom Hanks 4. Kevin Spacey 5. Harrison Ford 6. Jack Nicholson 7. Anthony Hopkins 8. Sir Sean Connery 9. Ewan McGregor 10. Cary Grant 11. Samual L Jackson 12. James Stewart 13. Audrey Hepburn 14. Steve McQueen 15. Brad Pitt 16. Paul Newman 17. Mel Gibson  18. Clint Eastwood 19. Robin Williams 20. What Are You On?
What gigs do you have? I forgot. I have none this year, so this is a definate for me. I've always wanted to see him live - it will be magical being there with 40,000 + singing dozens of Beatles classics  And Live and Let Die is one hell of an amazing live tune :D What did you think of 'Body Of Lies'?

List of Greatest Actors Of All Time
I think it is pretty decent as a list overall - Tom Hanks has no place in the top 10 then, and although im a fan, either does Johnny Depp or Leo imo. Those three shoudl be replaced with Hopkins, along with two actors who have been criminally left out of the top 20 - Gene Hackman and Orsen Wells.

List of Greatest Actors Of All Time
From www.thebest100lists.com, voted for my members of the public who took the time to compile a top 10 list. While far from perfect (Tom Hanks #2? )I think it is definatly one of the more credible lists I've come accross, certainly better than the one Channel 4 did a while back where Arnie was ranked higher than Brando. So what does everyone think? Who is too high and are there any very obvious omissions from the list? You can view the entire top 100 here http://www.thebest100lists.com/best100actors/ 1. Robert De Niro 2. Tom Hanks 3. Marlon Brando 4. Al Pacino 5. Jack Nicholson 6. Johnny Depp 7. Meryl Streep 8. Denzel Washington 9. Dustin Hoffman 10. Leonardo DiCaprio 11. Morgan Freeman 12. James Stewart 13. Daniel Day Lewis 14. Anthony Hopkins 15. Russell Crowe 16. Sean Penn 17. Katharine Hepburn 18. Paul Newman 19. Humphrey Bogart 20. Edward Norton

Sharon Osbourne: Dannii should get a life
In fairness, it's hardly a case of her not being able to get work. She is a judge one of the highest rated shows on US TV, America's Got Talent, and I'd be pretty sure her salary would be far greater than Dannii's XF one. She may be an attention seeking, bitter old hag but there is no doubting her career as a manager, has been far more successfull than Dannii's pop career. I don't like the women but she is a very clever business women, as being worth over 100 million quid proves - I bet most of that was made due to her getting MTV to make The Osbournes show, which resulted in being very profitable and made her a very well know celeb in her own right. Ozzy was very successful but I doubt he was worth even half that amount before. Her attacks are pathetic though, there is no doubting that, even if she may have a point to a certain degree.

AYDA GIVES ROB SMOKE SIGNALS The Sun.co.uk ROBBIE WILLIAMS has finally crumbled to pressure and slashed his cigarette intake to keep on the good side of his missus. The Brit winner used to power through a whopping 60 smokes a day. But now he's down to just ten - and hoping to stub out his habit completely. Fiancée AYDA FIELD has even banned the hitmaker from sparking up indoors. And as I revealed yesterday, she has also put Robbie on a strict fitness drive ahead of their wedding. A source said: "Ayda is very keen to start a family and knows the damage tobacco can do to sperm. "It's hard for Rob to say no to the woman he loves at the best of times. "But it's even harder when, far from nagging him about smoking, she gives practical support and offers to be there for him when he's finding it tough. "He has promised Ayda he will crack it. "Now it's just a matter of when he's ready." Good lad

Nope, in the UK 'I've Been Expecting You' is his best selling album, and globally Intensive Care in terms of studio albums with the GH being the best seller overall with over 8 Million. But there is no doubt about it, his Swing album was an astonishingly successful album, far more so than anyone anticipated. I am glad he never did the second one part of his contract though - it was great for a once off but really most of the best tunes were covered on the album - although I do wish he had've recorded 'My Way' for it, as his live redition at the RAH was fantastic. Back to Westlife though, it did make me laugh when their hilariously titled Swing effort 'Allow Us To Be Frank' became (at the time) their worst seller ever, that is till their latest album was released. And yes, where is that second single? Very odd how they went on and on in interviews about how fantastic the original material was yet all they have released is a cover so far. -_-

Nah, afraid not Norma, no-one would seriously think that piece of pure comedy gold was better (in terms of quality not comedy) in any humanly way to a critically acclaimed, vocally spot on gig that is wideley rememered as being a triumph, along with Knebworth by critics, unless they, like you, loved TT and (claimed) to detest Rob. His Swing gig was fantastic and flawless....even I was suprised at the time just how good his voice can be when he seriously puts his mind to it. It's huge critical acclaim for many of his biggest critics at the time is testement of that.....none of them thought he could pull it off, I doubt even he did, but he more than pulled it off. I have never seen anyone looking so natural and enjoying themselves on stage at he was on that night. He loved the music and took a huge risk at the time (just like he did with the rap/electronic 'Rudebox' was which was what he also loved, I doubt his dad had any interest in it though  ) and talk about pulling it off and then some....he basically revived the Swing genre outside of America, and actually released what went on to be the best selling Swing album outside of the US..EVER (and many UK acts tried to duplicate his success but failed hugely) Pretty remarkable to be quite honest, unlike that frankly appauling clip, which could'nt be less remarkable.Jedward would have trouble topping that.... it's even worse than Westlife's cover of LMEY I had the misfortune of coming accross a few years back when their Croker gig was on TV. I seem to remember you saying before how when you first saw his Swing gig when it was on you thought it was brilliant, but now looking back you dislike it. I'll have you know you were spot on first time as you obviously looked on it subjectively :P Btw, I'm not complaining.....I am in full agreement about the Leona/Will bashing running it's course......although I do wonder if you will ever get bored with discussing the Robster on a dailing basis.. afterall I can't stand Westlife, but the thought of discussing them so much would drive me insane .....I am begining to think you have a checklist which to tick each time you get the standard 'digs' in, you know ''the modest talent, Cheeky Chappie, Norman Wisdon" and a few of the other of your 'Greatest Hits' if you will. And I have no comment to make or interest in his appearance, whereas you clearly fancy the pants off the bloke - lips and smug grins can't even get in the way of that. Who is next for a bashing btw? I'd nominate Westlife myself, in particular Louis Walsh who was on the radio the other day saying how their latest album has been another massive #1 hit for them, and how their Croke Park concert in Dublin has sold out in record time.......when in reality their album did not go to #1 in the UK or Ireland, and it dropped out of the chart very quickly and is their worst seller of their career... and their Croker gig has been on sale since last year I think, and is still being heavily advertised....Louis has got so desperate he has now added JEDWARD as a support act. Never has there been another manager who spouts such utter $h!te.

'The Lovely Bones' 29.01.10
I don't agree in all cases, as had I read the book first I would'nt have enjoyed it as much...it's the same with the majority of films made from books. It is strange though that you say they added more than is in the book....it is usually the opposite with loads of key parts being left out. A friend of mine who read the book said the ending was crap and wasnt satisfying, whereas the film's ending was, even if done in a bit of a pointless way. Most of the time films made from books tend to be a let down due to us coming up with our own ideas about certain aspects of the book, only for the film to make it very different or miss out important parts. 'The Road' I felt did the book justice, and although miss out some key parts, was a very powerful and excellent film overall. I'd be interested in hearing Cormac McCarthy view on the film. Btw back to the Lovley Bones...just how on EARTH was this rated 12PG? It is totally inappropriot in so many ways for any 12 year old to see it...some of the scenes are quite distrurbing to say the least. It should most definatly be '15'... to think bloody Kindergarten Cop was 15's. I mean who comes up with this crap anyway? Most of the time they have films rated to highly, especially 18, but they are way off with this one. I mean what parent would want to bring their 12 year old kid to see a film about a serial killer paedophile?

Of course she does....what else would explain her extraordinary interest in him...she only said the other day how handsome she thought he was, yet claims he has a face she wants to smack  And Norma, you have already said you thought Rob's BRITS performance was the best of the night apart from Gaga's, so there is no use to using the Curling as an excuse when you said enough times how it was cancelled. :P Btw, Rich, cheers for that TT clip - I have never seen it and really needed a good laugh. Priceless stuff Btw, the actual album Rudebox (not the song) is, as Thisispop along with loads of excellent reviews it got from proper music magazines and broadsheets, a very good and underrated album...too many songs on it (17) but half a dozen fantastic tracks, my personal faves being Viva Life On Mars, The Actor, The 80's and The 90's....not fogetting Keep On, Lovelight and the hilarious Dickhead.

What Are You On?
Wasnt a fan at all of Body Of Lies I am afraid.... If found it interesting to begin with but it got very tiresome and lacked direction imo. Sadly Ridley Scott has gone very downhill. I did love the scene where Leo kicks Crowe off the chair though, it woke the whole cinema up  Enjoy it though, it is prop more enjoyable when not in a stuffy cinema :D

'The Lovely Bones' 29.01.10
Despite the frankly awful reviews this recieved, I quite enjoyed it. It was a bit messy in parts (especially the scene where it it turned into a comedy with about 3 minutes when Susan Saranden appeared which did not fit in), and some of the CGI was OTT which is a shame as Peter Jackson usually gets the perfect blend imo, but overall I felt it was a well made film with some outstanding performances, especially Stanley Tucci who was excellent as the serial killer. I could not believe that was the same guy who played Meryl Streep's husband in Julie and Julia :o The supense in the scene where Samon's younger sister broke into his house was fantastic. And of course Saoirse Ronan proves once again she is easily going to be one of the top acctresses in Hollywood sooner rather than later... she deserved a Best Actress nod for this ... a far stonger performance then the one she was actually nominated for in Atonement

invictus
I completelly dissagree that is is terrible. It is anything but imo, and the opinion of the majorty of critics who have praised the film and the Oscar nominated performances of it's two lead actors .. Matt Damon and Morgan Freeman. If there was ever someone born to play Nelson Mandela it is him. Ok so the accent wasnt perfect by any means but it was a bloody convincing performance. Why did you think it was terrible? If you ask me it is an impossibility for the mighty Clint Eastwood to make a below average film. Invictus is by no means up there with his timeless classics such as Unforgiven but it is a very solid film that is made by a masterful filmmaker who gets better with age. I'd say this film easily deserves a 7 or 8/10. I felt linking the politics with Rugby was a great way of telling a certain aspect of the story itself.. and as someone who has little interest in Rugby I was totally captivated during the scenes due to Eastwood's excellent direction. One thing I will say though is that the score was not up to Clint's usual standards.

Peter Andre and Robbie Williams bonded over UFO's STV.TV Peter Andre has revealed that he enjoyed meeting Robbie Williams backstage at this year's Brit Awards. The Aussie singer said that the two struck up a friendship over their interest in aliens. Andre reported from this year's ceremony covering the rehersals, the show and backstage interviews. He wrote in his new! magazine column: "We had a hilarious chat about our mutual obsession with UFOs." Peter added that the former Take That singer left a positive impression on him. He said: "It was good to see him and, as far as I'm concerned, the guy is a legend. "He's in a good place and I really look up to him. We talked about our careers." Meanwhile, Robbie is set to organise the third Soccer Aid event later this year. It is to be hosted by The X Factor's Dermot O'Leary instead of its usual presenters Ant and Dec who are busy filming Britain's Got Talent and Push The Button. Soccer Aid will take place at Manchester United's Old Trafford ground in June, according to The Sun. It has been rumoured that former footballers Alan Shearer and Zinedine Zidane are to take part. Previously celebs including Angus Deayton, Jamie Theakston, Gordon Ramsay and Danny Jones played in the England vs Rest Of The World matches.
