Album sales Progress - Fastest seling album of the century!
Yep and it appears he got the lyrics for SOS from all sorts of topics - he sounds a bit mad the way he explains them  I6Nh7dZ2nT8 And The Flood embedded - interesting to hear about the creation of the track. Wonder where Jay is for these vids though? Howard barely speaks either. I6Nh7dZ2nT8

TT Single. The Flood (2010)
Well seeing as it's split five ways they really must be making feck all from singles - pocket change to them  Album sales would bring in a bit - but what is the going rate for an artist these days - £2 per copy? That's based on the amount of copies bought by retailers - so by the end of the year around 2.5M will have been officially shipped worldwide - so thats £5M for the lads - a million each. Probably pushing it even at that tbh  The tour will bring in big bucks though. Even though media claims of £15M each is unlikely - it will still make them millions each.

Robbie 3rd most talked about celeb in last decade
Surprised useless folk like Jordon and Kerry Katona do not feature - this is the UK media we are talking about afterall  Wonder why Simon is so high? Would have thought Michael Jackson coverage over the past two years alone would have been enough for him to go top 5 at least. :o

Waffling Out Of Consciousness
 I did have very bad weather. 7 inches of snow (I measured :smoke: ) in the garden and it was -17 two nights ago. I am sick of it at this stage. Thankfully I don't have to go to the airport to fly anywhere - talk about a nightmare at airports across Europe. :o

TT Single. The Flood (2010)
Shockingly 'You Know Me' isn't far off the 300K figure  Unlike album sales - singles sales in the past number of years are massive overall - mainly due to downloads dominance - so it's difficult to compare with single sales from 5 or 10 years ago. To compare the UK #1 of Rob's 'Radio' only sold 40K to get to #1 - Bodies sold that in a single day. Sales is beyond massive now compared to the physical singles years. The Flood didn't quite pass the 300K figure last week but should have done now.

Album sales Progress - Fastest seling album of the century!
It's already on over 150K - 250-300K is likely - had Xmas not been on Saturday - 400K would have been even possible. 1.8M remains likely before the end of the year - must be one of the high sales for a years best selling albumin a LONG time. The Circus even thought it has massive success over Xmas - sold around 1.4M (the norm for best sellers for a year generally - rarely do they sell over 1.5M) and took roughly 7 months to hit the 1.8m Progress is likely to have sold this week and next. If they pick the correct singles and continue strong promo - plus perhaps even a deluxe ediition for next Xmas with a new track - ala Rule The World - it could even overtake Beautiful World's UK tally. Overall worldwide 3M overall sales are likely by this time next year.

'Shame' - Robbie and Gary duet
No I still hate 'Shame' - any song that wouldn't sound out of place on a Cliff Richard or Daniel O'Donnell album is a serious mistake if you ask me  From the naff lyrics, to the Blackbird rip off, to the overall jumper wearing grandad style melody - I still can't stand it. I would have been fine for Rob and Gaz to release in 40 years time  The Flood is vastly superior in every possible way for me - even thought I am sick of hearing it on the radio and seeing it live everywhere I look. I still think 'Heart & I' is the finest work Rob and Gary has written together or in a collaboration with Mark - I love SOS, Kidz and Underground Machine but I think as a overall track - talking everything into account - Heart and I is the best. It's a bloody good tune and should have been a single instead of Shame - or at least a double A-side - may have got to #1 then

Consecutive 2 million+ selling albums by an act.
Yeah Robbie holds the record with six albums to pass 2M - in the official list of best selling albums ever - he was the only act to have more than three - The Beatles and MJ were tied with three a piece but obviously Rob had double that amount. Six albums over the 2M mark (IC may get there someday - it's on over 1.7Mish) - live albums should''t be counted as there is not a hope in hell of a live album shifting 2M copies. But if live albums and GH are excluded Robbie still has five consecutive 2M+ selling studio albums. TT have two (soon to be three) - MJ has three consecutive studio 2M sellers - I'm not sure who would be next seeing as none of The Beatles were consecutive. It's amazing really that in a matter of months, possibly weeks (Progress is on course for another 300K this week) TT will overtake The Beatles and MJ in terms of the most amount of 2M sellers - and the all time #1 and #2 will be Robbie and TT. Who would have thought it back in those 'Do What You Like' days?

Royal Variety Performance
The steering wheel mic is almost identical to Bono's from the encore to the current 360 Tour. I thought it was by a country mile the best performance they have done so far since the reunion - it was totally different and full of energy and quite edgy - it was very 'out there' for TT and I loved the drum part the end - with Rob chating 'give' as Mark said 'head' right in front of the royals  - makes such a welcome change from five men just standing behind mic stands and moving away from them at the final bridge - that is FAR too boyband-ish for my liking so it was beyond refreshing to see something this different from TT. The performance just like the track was bonkers, and summed up the change in direction very effectively I thought - and far better than I ever hoped it would be. More of this please and less standing still at mic stands ala Pest$h!te :D

Royal Variety Performance
PmFlvw_UdBg An absolute storming performance of SOS here - It was fantastic, full of energy and so great to hear something new live. Should boost sales even more. I loved Rob with his megaphone and going up on the VIP Box - it was BRILLIANT!! :yahoo: Why they didn't do this on the XF last Sunday is beyond me. Ridiculous decision. No dancers needed for this song at all - it would have been amazing on the XF.

Album sales Progress - Fastest seling album of the century!
I wouldn't mind a white Christmas for once but it will prob snow all week and then be gone by next Saturday. Royal Variety is on tomorrow night on BBC. They sang The Flood plus another track from the album - SOS or Kidz - or so I've heard. Prob won't bother screening it though and we wll just be treated to the 574th televised performance of The Flood. :D

In And Out Of Consciousness: 1990-2010
Yes - god knows how though. I hope TT overtake them this week. TT were #1 in Ireland's main HMV in Graften St when I was in there today doing some Xmas shopping. A funny thing happened. There was a big display stand full of copies of Progress, Look Back Don't Stare DVD and Rob's Greatest Hits album - and a small boy walked over to the stand and placed his finger on the Progress album and started to count the members of TT one by one - when he reached five he shouted at his dad that it was the one with Robbie Williams and brought a copy over to the queue. Made me laugh

Take That and Robbie X-Factor tonight
No the profits are going to charidee...... :smoke: I am sure it will be released on DVD, or at the very least be show on the telly. Gaz will sing solo material, plus TT material on his own. I suspect the lads will be there too for a song or two - I wonder will David Cameron be the special guest? :o Perhaps even Maggie herself could be convinced to attend :o Kathy you would be thrilled. :P :P

Album sales Progress - Fastest seling album of the century!
Progress is on course for at the very least 300K this week. It has already sold near 150K up to yesterday - and has seen a 75% increase compared to this time last week. 400K would be possible although perhaps not now the snow is due to make a return tomorrow or the next day therefor impacting on the Saturday sales which should be massive.

Take That and Robbie X-Factor tonight
Robbie 'I've Been On The Show More Than Some Of The Contestents' Williams - How true  I can't see Rob being interested at all. Gary on the other hand defiantly. I think he would love to take over from Simon. Not sure he would be suited to all the soap opera judge nonsense though. Can you really imagine Gary bickering with Louis? I hear Gaz is doing a one off solo concert to celebrate his 40th Birthday called 'GB40' - wonder if it will be on ITV or BBC? It sounds like something Elton John would do. Hold a gig to mark a birthday

Take That and Robbie X-Factor tonight
ROBBIE WILLIAMS 6/1 TO JOIN X FACTOR JUDGING PANEL Well, the odds were right all the way through X Factor that Matt would win. And they're interesting. Bookies have started taking bets on who will be on the X Factor judging panel next year, with William Hill giving odds of 6/1 Robbie 'I've Been On The Show More Than Some Of The Contestents' Williams will join. Of course the odds are in favour of the line up staying the same, with 4/6 that Simon, Dani, Cheryl and Louis will stay on, but here's the list we've been sent in case someone needs replacing, in case you're interested. 4/6 Line up remains the same, 6/4 Katie Perry, 2/1 Nicole Scherzinger, 6/1 Gary Barlow, Robbie Williams, 10/1 Leona Lewis, 10/1 Pixie Lott, 10/1 Lily Allen, 10/1 Natalie Imbruglia, 16/1 Ronan Keating, 16/1 Geri Haliwell, 16/1 Charlotte Church, 25/1 Alexandra Burke, 25/1 Kylie Minogue, 25/1 Victoria Beckham. Robbie & all things Take That
Just got around to listen to these. Interesting how Jason said he will be hanging the platinum discs for Progress on his wall and how he has never done that for any previous album. He claims he was always proud of the live shows but never the albums but he was very proud of Progress. Was also amusing on that Xpose interview when the interviewer said to Rob and Mark that Progress blows every other boyband out of the water and Rob interrupted and said it blows any band full stop out of the water.
-
Take That: Look Back, Don't Stare
Some interesting extra footage from the DVD on youtube. The lads at Rob's massive mansion in the English countryside racing around. It's funny when Jay says he is glad they kicked Rob out of the band because if they hadn't have he wouldn't have had the solo success for them to be able have all of the fun. x7LGOXtZ0uM eJMVaCQRn3A

TT Single. The Flood (2010)
Due to it being #6 (with a 150% sales increase compared tot his time last week) in the midweeks - and an increase in overall sales - I think it could pass 300K mark this week. Don't forget they willl sing it on the Royal Variety Performance screened on Thursday so another boost. I can see it selling over 400K in total with ease.

In And Out Of Consciousness: 1990-2010
The album was #14 last week and has now climbed to #6 in the midweeks due to it being a popular Xmas present plus all the hype with the XF and adverts on TV for HMV. It could sell near 100K this week and if it's sucess continues it will sell possibly over 100K next week - with the final week added - 600,000+ is not out of the question at all - meaning it will have 'shipped between 800-900,000 - 3xplat for this album in the new year. WW figure would be not far off 2M by the end of the year getting him almost to 60M albums sold worldwide :D
-
Album sales Progress - Fastest seling album of the century!
#1 for a 5th week running according to the mids - no sales but a 50% increase in sales - so 300K+ is likely - taking the album over the 1.4M mark already. Next week sales will be even higher with the week after that a huge decline obviously - 1.7-1.8M is very likely as I said a few weeks ago. :D
