  1. np... just remembered. the bes drummer i've ever seen live was Pigface's. absolute machine he was!
  2. yes - one of the leading forces back in the day for sure, hence me putting them on the list i made (but the album I listed is easiest on the ears for people new to them). Saw them at ATP last year and was... interesting... cover is pretty boring (just a copy of the black sabbath cover actually). It's the song... and below is a taster (couldn't find whole mp3). This is an Al Jorgensen Off-shoot as is Revolting Cocks (singer from Ministry). He had a brief stint in Pigface too (Pigface was always an industrial 'supergroup' that would gather 5-8 industrial musicians, make an album and tour. rinse repeat). http://www.emp3world.com/mp3/60143/1,000%2...20Djs/Supernaut
  3. Right - here's my recomendations on Industrial picking the best album of each. Please note I'm out of touch with the music these days but was quite a fan 10+ years ago and these are the classics. I recently joined an industrial board and said I liked the below and asked what I missed in the last 10 years... nothing that was recommended did I care for tho! Have seen most of these acts live and many remain some of the best gigs I've ever been to. KFMDM on the Money tour remains in my top 5 ever gigs in fact! Musts: KMFDM (Naive) and Ministry (The Mind Is a Terrible Thing to Taste) Shoulds: Front 242 (Front by Front), Skinny Puppy (Haus der Luege), Throbbing Gristle (20 Jazz Funk Greats), NIN (Broken/Fixed - the more industrial albums he did), Einstürzende Neubauten (Haus der Luege) On the outside depending on tastse: Laibach (Opus Dei), Pigface (), Nitzer Ebb (), Front Line Assembly (Reclamation), Revolting Cocks (Beers Steers and Queers), 1000 Homo DJ's (Supernaut - had to add this, prob my favorite industrial cover), Coil (Love's Secret Domain), Young Gods (L' Eau Rouge), Klute (Excluded)
  4. no, really. WHY IS THIS A STICKY?! (I hate bjork!)
  5. don't forget that in the UK the top 40 charts have a lot of inde... it's rare to have ANY indie in the US top 40 charts (mostly rap, pop, etc)
  6. can't go wrong with Opus Dei. Released in 87.
  7. haven't thought about them in years. Was a mild fan years ago and my long time best friend loves this band....
  8. this won't affect the audience that would have bought their cd's. I don't imagine they are very big in the US either, but no figures to back that up... don't forget - only 40-45% of people vote in the US. That means that only 25% of americans voted for bush. also... I can assure you that muse is not in the mainstream music AT ALL in the US.. Only indie fans will have heard of them
  9. argh- paid 11 for mine :(
  10. DO see them live if you can... another band that is better live than on cd (I do like their cds too of course)
  11. i always check allmusic.com for questions like that. this is their 5th album :)
  12. no arguement there... but that's the case for most current policies/events... let me be clear - I am absolutely 100% against the current administration and actually left the country the same week bush took office (that was more by chance, but a happy one at that!).
  13. Matt Bellamy is a an expert on demolotions and has inside information we don't then!?! ROFL!! I wich rock stars would learn to stfu on political matters, especially ones that they obviously know nothing about. I've seen no news story of any respected architetect/structural engineer saying that a plane FULL of jet fuel couldn't do what happened. The towers structure was mostly around the outside, obviously the plane weakened it upon impact, and the 1000's of gallons of jet fuel caused an imense amount of heat for a sustained period which weakened the structure further... until the towers eventually lost their integrity and collapsed. There's is most certainly a lot of questions about how, but that's mostly due to lack of information about these kinds of buildings collapsing, as luckily it doesn't happen often. Was the invasion of iraq already planned and the administration just waiting for an excuse? YES! But that's a seperate issue.
  14. i've heard good things about them live from friends too... not a band I'd want to see in such a large venue tho...
  15. having trouble picking my favs off this album and adding songs to rotation actually.. this is a good song tho for sure

youtube sound doesn't help this at all... sounds so cheezy! I liked quite a few bands of this ilk 5 years before orgy so never felt need to listen to them tbh. I also preferred real industrial more, kmfdm, ministry, skinny puppy, even NIN i liked of course :)

it's the only song of theirs i remember, haha... i did hear the album ages ago but didn't interest me that much at the time tbh
  18. sorry - which website? I've seen them twice (1st time opening for Editors and second time this summer at a festi) and can testify they are a lot of fun live. A bit better musically as well than on the album iho. The album itself has 3-4 good songs and the rest are too cookie-cutter/samey to bother with though.
  19. sure! that's kinda my point... anyways, moving on! It's just music and if you like it continue to enjoy it! There's far worse c**p out there, that's for sure!
  20. sorry... BUT YOU FOUND THE KILLERS COMPLICATED?!?!?!?!? ?! uh... can I assume by your sig you mostly like pop? if so MAYBE i can understand...
  21. You found it complicated?!?! uh... what?!
  22. this is too simple to be much of a grower though. My definition of a grower is complicated or 'odd' music that takes time to figure out... the Killers will never be such a band. I'm still waiting for the shoe to drop... just how did they come up with so many great songs, a great producer and more marketing money than god for a first album. This 2nd album so dire is very telling I think. And yes, I've already called Oliver Stone ;)
  23. just listened to it for first time... what a pile of $h!te! will give it a few more listens to give it a chance still, but NO catchy songs and lots of c**p!
