A guy who was influenced by the Smiths and has one of my favourite albuns of all times is Jeff Buckley with his album Grace, the only one he released while alive. :cry: He once said: "The Smiths hasn't been equalled. That goes for the composition of the songs, the lyrics and the performance. What Johnny Marr and he (Morrissey) did was fabulous, nobody can beat that. If I'd ever start a rock band, I'd want to approximate that level." If you don't know this album, you shoud give it a go. It's, probably, the most beautiful album I have ever heard.

lol, yeah... There was another time. In the concert where I saw him he left in the middle of "panic". In the newspaper the next day they said that someone had said something to him, portuguese newspaper really like to invent. But a few weeks later I heard that he sometimes does that and I'm sure it has a Morrissey explanation but I really wanted to sing the chorus. :dance: I like to think it was because he couldn't bare to see all those people singing a Smiths' song. :)

...I bought the "Ringleader of the Tormentors" edition with the dvd and the dvd had nothing interesting on it. I paid some euros more because I thought it had interesting things, it didn't. <_< It's not his fault I know. :P What about you? When has Morrissey let you down?

I have heard Antics a few times, they are nice, but are far from being one of the best bands of our time. -_- And yes, every band has been influenced by The Smiths, everything. It's funny that a friend of mine said that today, he just said that to se my reaction though. I'm not a vegetarian but the song "Meat is Murder" really impresses me. Not because it´s a smiths song, it's simply because the lyrics are great. :) Is Morrissey a vegetarian (doesn't it animals) or a vegan (doesn't eat anything that comes from animals), anybody knows? (I have this doubt for quite a long time)

I forgot to say but I manage to grap a piece of one of his shirts :) everybody was pulling at first but then they calm down and we politely (it was politely for a concert) divided the shirt between us. :)

In my case it was two persons. First my brother showed me some songs on The Queen is Dead. A few weeks later I put the song "The Queen is Dead" in a compilation I did for my English teacher (a very cool guy, the best teacher I have ever had) just to see what he would say, and so he lend me The two best of's and I really liked so I started listening to some of the albuns my brother had already bought. Since then I didn't stop until I heard every song they have. :)

Should have said "Seasick, Yet still docked". Well, both of them.

I can't wait to see if Morrissey is involved or not. ^_^

Personally, I don't like tatoos because they will stay with you forever and that's too much for me. But if I was to do one I would put: "there is a light that never goes out" or "Accept Yourself" or "I am Human and I need to be loved" or "Last night I dreamt that somebody loved" or "I'm starved of mirth" or... see? I couldn't even decide what to put... ^_^ Probably the "Accept Yourself" since it's the shortest. :)

I think it really depends on what kind of music you are into and what you are looking for. "The Queen is Dead" is a classic, and probably their best album, but if you are more into rock you should buy their debut album "The Smiths", finally, if you want to hear good singles then I would say "Hatful of Hollow" or "Singles".

My birthday, The Smiths and Morrissey: While I was busy getting of my mom, the smiths were breaking up, August 1987, so I never got the chance to see them. :( I saw Morrissey last year in my Birthday and I loved it. :)

I think I'm just a Smiths fan, not a Morrissey solo fan, although I really like some of his solo albuns. :)
